Hello, I found that horse archers armies cannot get the range bonus from generals. Could this mod fix the issue?

daMarshal Hey man, I could but not in this mod. Praetorian cavalry not being available as commander cavalry isn't a bug. I'm sure there are other mods that do this, like this one:

Hey SCVTVM, have a question, could you possibly add Praetorian Cavalry as a bodyguard option after Marian/Imperial reform?

Only Cataphractarii in EE. Anyway, It is what it is, I find it more proper this way.

There are both common and special units, like Equites Catafractarii Bodyguard, as it is in Grand Campaign (general & bodygard or triarii/veteran legionaries

Nope, they are cavalry from normally available units (Cataphractarii, Scutarii, Praetorians for EE and Elite Equites for RotE)

Well, yes, in Empire Divided and Rise of the Republic campaigns roman general unit has full strength, but still it is special unit, not "common" cavalry like Equites, isn't it?

It's a bug that stayed. No other faction has specific general cav unit, only Rome and Carthage. They did pre Emperor edition, but then every faction got normal cav as general from inside their normal roster.
"General and Bodyguard" is a pre Emperor Edition useless unit, which CA forgot to change. You can see this by the fact that in Empire Divided and Rise of the republic, they made normal cav as generals.
That's why in my book this qualifies as a bug and that's why I chose Equites and Carthagenian Cavalry.

I know, but it creates compatibility issues with other mods. This is more compatibility issues free solution, more balanced and a more historical accurate one.

I got the idea, but there was a mod that fixed half unit size for generals without changing unit itself, like that:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=459948050&searchtext=80+men

Only Rome and Carthage have 40 men cav general, making it useless. All other factions have proper cav ubits as generals.

It's not a bug, If you check out the eight dot, I write about fixing the 40 men generals. 40 men general was clearly a bug, forgotten there by CA pre-emperor edition. I fixed it making equites the general cavalry unit, which is also historically accurate. Of course, Marian reforms makes them Legionary Cavalry as intented

Found an issue in this fix. If this mod is active, I can't hire General & Bodyguard playing for Rome, but I can hire Equites as General unit instead. Was it planned?
