This map is currently being reworked.It will better resemble BC2 map in scale and detail.Currently polishing caspian border and creating a new BF3 map,but this map will not be abandoned.The next version will be quite different but still keeping with the current theme

Updated map with a fix to micro stuttering that was caused by the vehicle spawners,and AI spawning in tight areas.I was trying to figure out why the map micro stuttered alot every so often and finally after so many tweaks,i nailed it down to the spawn modules causing the issue.

If anyone was having any kind of stuttering that was not hardware related,it should be drastically improved or outright eliminated now.

@hilowats i could say i fit in that ship too ;) Glad your not getting more crashes.Recent update addressed some NAV issues,if ANYTHING i did while creating the map was crashing it,it would have only been that,and its solid now.

Map updated. Significant changes to make the map alot more fun and balanced and general improvements.Should feel more chaotic in a good way ;)

@Redarmy yeah I don't think you should bother redoing the map, balanced or not it's still very cool.
By the way, I've tried the map in point match, and it is indeed much more balanced! :D
Sadly the attack boat was of little help because all enemy bots would target it as soon as it was claimed, and RHIBs didn't offer much challenge because the AI doesn't know how to coordinate an attack with them, but the map was still loads of fun to play! ^0^

@StickguyPaul Unfortunately that is down to the AI.. i could reshape the map but it wouldnt fit my vision or maintain true recreational feel of the original.Iv tested it in point match and there it is balanced,and since that is also the standard mode in these types of games,i gota accommidate that.

I have made an update today doing my best to change things so slightly for skirmish mode,try it if you didnt already.Other wise maybe wait a while,as il be making a Rush game mode for all the BF maps i create,which is an attack / defend mode,if the mode does infact play well in ravenfield.

@Redarmy even if raven (or whoever is on the RUS side) begins with control of those flags they quickly lose it, usually when eagle reinforcements arrive. U_U
Taking control of the flags is not the problem, the problem is maintaining said control.

And although tweaking the balance slider will surely help reach a balance, I personally don't like using it, specially on such big maps. XS

@StickguyPaul instead of disabling flags you could maybe make the flags raven held,or use the balance slider to allow raven side more troops.

Il try play some skirmish games here when i get time and see what could be done if anything.

By the way, I have tested skirmish with disabled flags in isla isle west, the harbour, and the north-most island, on one hand it's a shame to disable so many flags, specially such interesting ones, but it did make the map very balanced, with a very interesting struggle for control for isla isle happening! ^0^

Personally I like skirmish a lot, the unability to respawn is usually not much of a problem for me because I manipulate the bot weapons to be ones I like, and I usually take a lot to die.

@hilowats i also crash playing other peoples modded maps alot if playing epic point count or too long.I get an access violation error. It has nothing to do with my map particularly.

What is the crash?Do you get an error message? Show me a log file if you have.

Why is it when I play this map I get about 3/4 way through battalions and it crashes?
I am playing a home made config with nothing too fancy.

@StickguyPaul you should try point match,i think its generally better,you get to respawn and choose your loadout..i only tried skirmish once first time i played this game a few weeks ago,and as soon as i realised couldnt respawn with my gear,i played point match...The reason this map may feel unbalanced is because it was designed for an attack/defend game mode called Rush...But in point match it is balanced,but keep in mind whoever controls the point "isla isle west" has the attack boat spawn,and can potentially control the water with that giving a good advantage.This is intended.And if you use an attack boat mod which increases lethality of that vehicle ,this is even more of an advantage.

@Redarmy I still haven't tested other modes, I've gotta do it one of these days. First I would like to see if disabling some flags makes it more balanced on skirmish. (I think part of the balance issues are because of where the paratroppers are dropped, by diabling the flag in that area it might become more balanced.)

The only reason it's unbalanced in skirmish is that the eagle side can easily capture and hold the central flags, meaning they only have to wait out gaining points until they win, but since in other modes such as battallions flags don't matter that much it's probably very well balanced there.

@StickguyPaul Hmmm i honestly never tested it with skirmish and am not too familiar with how that mode works,i only play point match/conquest. It really was unbalanced in point match too as you say but i did make changes to the map and fixed it. It is true sometimes you might find one side winning with 90% of the points but mostly its back and forth. The nature of ribs and transport helo's ensure that AI has many routes to move around.

Pretty cool but very unbalanced, at least in skrmish mode, giving eagle waay too much advantage; winning in skirmish seems almost impossible. XS

@Inquisitorial Imperator Im delighted you like it,thanks for the kind words. I updated it after releasing it,small issue with attack boat is fixed now.There are a few touch ups i will add to it to create more cover in certain areas over the next few days too but nothing major,just stuff to keep the teams balanced.

Good map I actually enjoyed playing it, I don't subscribe to as much level editor maps but this one has impressed me (like the other being 'Lock Coast One').
