The 'Collector Raider Faction' mod will have this unit fight against advent and xcom alike if used.
The Drones leverage the AdventTrooper AI with a lower ideal weapon range.
Hi, within the Config file 'XComEncounterLists' ... you'll want to comment out the M2 and M3 versions of the unit so only M1 appears between force levels 1-6. Additionally, you can set how many units appear in the 'MaxCharacters' field for a particular pod.

Hi, some users requested that the enemies not be automatically removed. I've updated the raider faction to be configurable so that users can select "Remove Enemies = Yes/No" in the config file of the raider faction mod. Sorry for the confusion.

I've been meaning the fill the shieldbearer slot for a while but really wanted to get the shields to work with it which took some time. I also had that thought about Marauder 'shields' as a collector/reaper variant haha; glad that I wasn't the only one.
I have debated Kai Leng's model as well. I think there's something interesting to be done there, but will be some time.
btw im very curious, are the chosen actually moddable now? because for example kai leng is a perfect replacement for the chosen assassin. kai lengs model asset is available in Lord_Poncho57's awesome cerberus armory mod. no kai leng's voice pack yet, but there are quite a few troy baker ( kai leng's voice actor ) voice packs in the workshop.
awesome man, thank you for all the amazing work you put into this. now this game is turning into an authentic mass effect turn based strategy game every day! not to mention that mass effect fits xcom2 like a glove. a dream come true for us mass effect fans.
one last suggestion, since we are talking about shieldbearer. neither the collectors nor cat6 is actually a good fit. i mentioned those simply because they are already done, so i figure it will be quick. but now that you said you are working on shieldbearer replacement. i think a better fitting unit is actually the infamous "marauder shields". :D that model is actually already available in kexx's awesome palaven update. marauders in mass effect buff cannibals with extra armor plates to make the cannibals more durable, which is why i think it is a good fit for shieldbearer.
anyway this is just a suggestion, cheers!
haha, thanks man. I understand. You're also right on the money about the awakened collector. I didn't want to get stuck on that before releasing the trooper and captain so hopefully at some point we can have him join the fight in some form.

Good ideas, like you said, the shieldbearer needs something which I am working on to address. Archon and Spectre will hopefully come further down the road

... but, with every mod, there are 5 demands and 5 suggestions, may I add the 6th ... 7th ... 8 ...
Collectors are very unique and important in ME2, I hope we could improve them over time:
- add Collector Guardian (just a bigger version of the trooper)
- utilise the Awakened Collector Adept armor (take them as still not fully awakened, so they have very low will to serve the reaper, which would make them to be mind-controlled/panic easier)
- give some biotic powers from Biotic Class Redux (which is a must anyway)
- create Awakened Collector Adept raider faction to fight on xco ... good guys' side?
Masters are the best ... masters can do ...

btw advent shieldbearer can also be replaced by those cat 6 units, if you want to use collectors to replace something else.
also, i don't know how easy or difficult it is to replace non advent units. but here are some ideas.
collector units can be used to replace a bunch of non advent units. such as:
1. archon. because collectors can fly or at least glide or hover. you don't even have to change the weapon. just think of archon's energy lance is some sort of modified collector beam weapon. fits really well. so just a body model swap.
2. spectre. when spectre moves it changes into a nanoswarm. so think of it as a collector swarm. keep the spectre default weapon too. just a body model swap.
regarding replacement ideas, why not use the one of these collector units to replace advent shieldbear? advent shieldbearer at this moment is the only advent unit that has no replacement. sticking out like a sore thumb when shieldbear shows up lol.
