Keep up the good work keeping these mods alive, Mlie. Would you consider making this mod work with the Animal Apparel: Basic Armor mod? So the animals in raids have a chance to spawn with armor on.

Would it be possible to make an in-game interface to add / remove animals, like Giddy Up or Nocturnal Animals ? One that would import any animal from installed mods, and just ask you wether or not it can be used by a factin in raids ? Adding animals in the files does work (thank you for the detailed instructions) but manually typing 1000+ beasts is nightmare-inducing

So any modded animals will have to be added manually? (Thinking specifically Pokeworld for myself) If so, how do you get to the correct name for them?

@~Jester~ If you want to exclude an animal you create the deletions file with the faction name and add the animal you want to exclude to the file

@Mlie I just dont understand the process in general, either way the animals selection is pretty good. Just wanted to remove elephants from the empire until i realized i was going to ally the empire so i would never see a raid from them anyways.

Until such things as Resource Dictionary are updated to 1.5, at least if that mod was loaded and playable in 1.4 and so was populated with info from all mods we want to use, you can find the following file

Mod_*_ResourceDictionary.xml and throw that into Excel or Notepad++ then pick out the names you want. re: mainThingDefName then grab the name for your adds deletions lists. Such as adding Megasloth, Thrumbo and RoyalThrumbo (German Sheppard if 1.5 but doesn't seem to be) to AnimalHusbandryRaids_Tribal.additions respectively. Then run Raids for Me mod +insult Tribals to test. nvm Raids for me doesnt work either. Rip will wait for a natural tribals raid or build some medpods.

@mlie @lophothedilo are you meaning that After Installation of the mod and Activation of the mod, and Restarting the game (so it is loaded) we Have To manually generate the config files for Add and Deletions per or the mod will generate them ?

All I see is in the config folder is > Mod_2052156867_AnimalHusbandryRaidsMod.xml

In any case they can be generated manually but for us non technical people (with respect to xmls and defs) what would be the best way to find all available factions names if not limited to the list in the description (especially for 1.5) and good animal names.. especially or specifically Thrumbos and Royal Thrumbos.. asking for a friend named lophothedilo since this might be a 1.5 issue and most mods are not compatible which would show that info.

instant subscribe install and activation, however.. "Outlanders".. does that cover Commandos ?

in principal this > Tribals with hordes of steaks.. I mean tames which may be overwhelming in early game

But in practice it should be bandits as HORSE THIEVES.. I nearly spat out my coffee. They come riding in (so wtv mods increase riding animals). If you have no cattle or horses they just leave.

I know this isn't part of this mod but have you ever considered adding a raid type where the raiders ya know ... raid your animals?

Like a cattle raid irl.

They'd show up ... ya and get this yeah ... instead of suiciding at you, they instead go to your pens, preferring the undefended ones ofc and attempt to steal all your cows, chickens and other pen animals and rope them away off the map.

It's your duty as the player to basically stop them from robbing your precious cattle before they get away with it.

The standard raider suiciding at your defenses is getting kind of boring. Having some actual 'realistic' raiding might be fun.

Alas, I still haven't been able to find the AnimalHusbandryRaids_[FactionName].additions and AnimalHusbandryRaids_[FactionName].deletions file. I have used the mod, but no such file appears.

The "Config on Windows" file is not there. I can only see: Config, Crosspromotions, hugslib, ideos, modlists, preparecarefully, rocketman, saves, senarios. No Config on Windows file.

@lophothedilo They are created the first time you use the mod. You can modify these to fit your playstyle.
Perhaps you are not looking in the correct path? What is the actual path you tried to open?

I can't find the config files. The mod looks interesting, but I can't use it due to having no guide as how to change the animals. How do I make the file? What type of file does it have to be?

Hey, I've got an issue. When raiders give up and leave they don't take their animals with them. The animals lose their hostility but can't be hunted or tamed, and the battle music never stops playing.

I only leaved some suggestions here, if update happens, great, if not maybe later ~
And I already made my personal version: Raid with Animals .
So, my suggestion is more for other people anyway.

@Yoann I'll answer with a, no, Miles has like 2000+ mods he upkeeps, improving on this is no where on his current list of to-do's. You could possibly bring the idea up in Rimworld forums, see if someone wants to take this over or make a mod-mod to patch in your ideas.

It lacks some customization and the spawn doesn't feel vanilla:
_To be able to add a "weight/commonality" to the animals of one faction, to make some animals more uncommon than others
_To make PawnPercentage be a range, and not a fix percent
_To add animals by raid points instead by number of pawns, and to take in account the combatPower of the animals, this way one dog will no be egal to one thrumbo
_Maybe too hard to do, but make animals count in the raid points (when storyteller spawn a raid, first spawn animal with X% of raid points, then the pawns with raid points remaining), this way a raid with animals will not necessary means harder raid.

I've actually done it with the android factions from Android Tiers, and the factions from VFE: Medieval and VFE: Vikings. The animals I added showed up fine, so I can confirm it works.

When adding animals to the .additions/.deletions files, you just add the defName one per line?

Also it only seems to have generated files for Kingdom and Tribal factions. If I make new files with _Empire/_Pirate/_Outlander will that work, and does this also work for modded factions or only ones listed here?

Do the animals count towards the raid points counter? like if a 500 point raid triggers would the animals be in those 500 points or would it be 500 + animals?

@PeasantUnit Mounting is up to Giddy Up as these animals are just spawned in addition to the normal raid. I think that the same is up to Animal Equipment but Im not sure.

Just an FYI to anybody trying to add animals from Alpha Animals into the animal list via Notepad++ or the like. I tried this, and while they spawned with a raid, they immediately attacked the human raiders. I think some of the new animals might have just base aggression to any humanoid pawns in general. Only saw one instance of the new animals, as Randy was being kind with the amount of raids, so YMMV.

@Mlie I guess that's my problem. I have never really modded anything myself. So I am somewhat confused on how to add them. I tried following the file path you gave but I don't seem to have a app data after I select the username. I have created a local copy of the mod and am attempting to figure it out there.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods

hopefully I am not just wasting my time. If you have any advice I would appreciate it

@droombie55 I looked up this MOD just to see if it WOULD work with Pokemon MOD, hahaha. Imagine a raid with like, 2 humans and 12 pikachus shooting lightning bolts at my sentries!?!?
