I note that printing this seemed to mess up toolbar 3; all of the run commands end up being titled "run", rather than anything useful. This may or may not be something that can be solved, so I do appreciate the toolbar list in the description. This may or may not be a result of figuring out the shipyard printer, and the script on that moving the projected image around midway through; I reckon it needs a "it's set, stop moving anything" button, but complicated. :-/

Just found out you can hold alt and look around the cockpit. until today I didn't even know there was another screen in that cab.

pretty much exactly how i have mine setup only difference i dont have it state pannel 0 or the end stats at the end and it works just that one pannel was missing as far as i was aware but its only cause the server i was playing on loves to clear toolbars and other things

Oh that is very strange, if you're interested, the cockpit Custom Data should be:

i did but the top left display didnt retain data so i made my own using FSD

Have you turn on the "PB [FSD]" programmable block? It should have the Fancy Status Displays loaded.
All the blueprints in this collection should have the off by default, so that they don't cause any issues when printing.

I do have a question though: it should lift just fine (if a little slowly) when completely full of ore, including drills, connectors and cockpit. Are you playing with any mods that might change thrust or cargo? Or maybe a higher gravity planet? It should work on Alien or Earthlike (I don't think Pertam was a thing when I made this, but I doubt it would work).

As for the components, that is very much intentional, anything with a "O" in the designation is only for Ores, if it has a "C" then it would be rated to fit and carry a cargo full of components.

Solid little ship

Minor problems I have had:
Lacking a little for Lift when fully loaded (do not leave the Drills full. If only Cargo, should be okay)
Not enough Gyro Power (I added 2 more, much better)
If you Flip Over, have fun slipping it back (tho this is a common issue with most Atmo Only ships)
If you use it for Transport of Components, the Cargo Boxes are not all connected with Large ports, so you might get something stuck in there.

hi im having a wierd problem with the ships, it seems to constantly lean to the left whenever mining and im not sure if this is a bug or something that can be fixed easily

Hey. I don't know what am I doing wrong but the merge block thing doesn't work for me... It won't start printing on it. I use the design similar to your printer but it will only print if the projection is touching a small block

hello good sir - i was wondering if you knew how to get the mining area to show up? The pam script is working fine and it will drill, but the actual mining area is not displayed during the setup process.

Hi Scott, first, have you checked that the programmable block is turned on? I have them all off by default on all my ships, so that there are no conflicts with station scripts when building the ship, and so only the ones that are needed are turned on.

So, first check they PB is turned on, then check the name of the Cockpit for the [PAM] tag

@Spite, While I was building this, I noticed that under the rear pair of small atmo thrusters near the top of the ship there is a block missing and the two 1x2 slope bases don't match the other side. It doesn't really look intentional, so I figured I'd let you know.

Since it is designed for drilling straight down, anything ejected while on the job is going to end up on the floor (where the drills are) regardless of ejector position, right?

If you use it for PAM job, and have ejection set to "Drop Position" then it leaves the hole to drop off stone.

Very nice ship. I use it in my world with very deep ores, some of them as deep as 1000m, to dig a shaft down to the deposit prior to installing a fixed MArmOS based drill arm at the bottom.

The only thing I don't really get is the ejectors at the bottom. They just spit out stone that you pick right back up with the drills if you're trying to stick to ore while actually mining, rather than just tunnelling.

Maybe at some point, but the main reason large grid miners are harder to make (or at least make and not look completely like a brick) is that a LG Drill makes a hole that is less than two blocks wide. So you you can't leave any gaps for things like thrusters or cockpits in the drill profile.

Hmm its been a while so unfortunately I don't really remember, but with the MK 4 Kaari I know it was a struggle fitting all the parts into the printer profile, so you might have a hard time finding interior space in those.

Gonna be tough trying to modify the Kaari or Anguilla heavy miners. Do you know of there are similar pockets of free space in either of those designs (the Atmospheric variant primarily)?

I like your miner designs. Admittedly, I have to modify them slightly for the server I play on due to increased hostiles. The modifications I do are to add Cython's Energy Shields for some protection. I found you left a fair amount of empty space inside this version of your Quarry Miner, and was able to fill it with shield generators without really affecting the overall look, which is a plus. :) I do wish I could have found space for the large shield generators (3x3x3 blocks), but would have had to either reduce cargo capacity (potentially crippling your conveyor system in the process...), or stick them out on top, ruining the look.

Alright, I'm going to guess that you are, since the only time I have encountered the same problem as you is when leaving a miner with a PAM job running during a server reset.

For some reason, it makes the PAM script freeze up, so best not to leave a job running when you are logged off, unless you know you'll be back before the server reset.

Just found my two miners stuck in their hole with broken cocpit and out of power. Guessing it got stuck and run out of power trying to get out. Any tips on how to avoid this?

Yes, it should work just fine, you will lose the toolbars in the cockpit, but all he buttons should still be there in the remote control if you don't feel like setting them up again.

Also, if you are going to change the cockpit, make sure you add [PAM:#] to the new cockpit name, where # is the number of the LCD you want the PAM readout to show (if you're going to use the script).
