Mod doesn't work anymore:steamsad:

Altogether, the way the mod is designed now is the best way that I could design and implement it. I'm certain a more experienced mod maker could do some wonderful things with this, but I did what I had the ability to do.

Hello 焱淼,

I have good and bad news for you. The good news is that everything you've described is intentional with this mod. Please re-read the mod's description to learn about election features and how you can influence the outcome of your elections.

The bad news is that what you describe about being unable to boost voting weight is something that's mechanically not possible for me to do. Elections themselves appear to be hard coded in the game, meaning that the default democratic election interface isn't something I can alter or change- nor affect what leaders it draws from.

With regard to it drawing low-level leaders, that is true and very possible. However, there are 4 potential options when a new leader is elected: an inexperienced very young leader, a semi-experienced young leader, a moderately experienced middle-age leader, and a veteran older leader.
焱淼 24 Oct, 2024 @ 8:23am
Has serious errors! Firstly, elections generate leaders directly (there is no stage or interface where players can boost the weight of their votes); secondly, elections are blackboxed, which automatically recruits another low-level leader of another type; and lastly, I think that there is still room for big improvements in the module, and that it's still a little bit away from the ideal state.

Okay, thank you
Jame  [author] 9 Aug, 2024 @ 4:09pm
Hi Saint,

This one isn't necessarily incompatible, but it won't have the same modifiers as the Ethics & Civics Classic mod will have for its democratic authority.
Rhysmuth 8 Aug, 2024 @ 9:26pm
Is this compatible with Ethics and Civics Classic? Wanting to run both and I've made some assumptions, but want to be sure
Jame  [author] 29 Jul, 2024 @ 1:22pm
Hey all,

I'll be updating the Stellaris Evolved & Stellaris Bug Branch ones shortly. Thank you for all the patience you've had for this whole time.
Cowboy_Sloth 29 Jul, 2024 @ 12:56pm
awesome! thanks renan love the mod btw good stuff
EmeraldPhoenix 29 Jul, 2024 @ 10:01am
Awesome - I came back here to say the bug had stopped, but that was likely because you updated it, and I just didn't realize, lol.
Aþi 29 Jul, 2024 @ 3:50am
Hell yea!! Thanks for updating dude!
Do you think you can update the stellaris evolved sub mod? the devs changed a few things and integrated a few authorities into eachother.
Thanks!! You’ve saved my playlist!!
Jame  [author] 28 Jul, 2024 @ 6:50am
Updated to the latest version of Stellaris and worked in the changes to the authority. Ran & tested, working as intended.
Let me know if there are any other issues that come out of it.
Aþi 28 Jul, 2024 @ 12:19am
I am also having this issue, i love this mod and playing stellaris without it is deeply annoying. Please fix <3
EmeraldPhoenix 27 Jul, 2024 @ 6:52pm
Yeah, I'm having a similar issue, I think something in 3.12 broke it somehow. Shame, because I really hate the vanilla democracy model.
Cowboy_Sloth 18 May, 2024 @ 4:14am
Renan. i only activated this mod and still getting the issue, im assuming its broken somehow due to the recent update as it only started then.
Jame  [author] 14 May, 2024 @ 3:49pm
Cowboy_Sloth,
I'm not sure why you are having this problem. This mod removes the line that triggers vanilla elections. Are you using another mod that overwrites the democratic authority?
Cowboy_Sloth 14 May, 2024 @ 12:41pm
will this be updated? it seems broken bc when i have the mod on i still get base game elections
Austin_Legend 12 Mar, 2024 @ 1:23am
Getting an instant CTD problem, havent been able to diagnose why yet tho
MeteorJunk 28 Feb, 2024 @ 9:25pm
This still work?
Jame  [author] 13 Mar, 2023 @ 2:38pm
I'm afraid that without further information, I have no choice but to assume that you are saying this mod has a bug where other nations always will have some degree of ethic that your empire has.
Without ideas of what else it could be, I tested to see if this would be the case in a game when playing as a xenophile/fanatic materialist empire. Your issue (if I am right about what your issue is) is not something I can replicate, and I can only assume it is a result of another mod you are using.
Jame  [author] 12 Mar, 2023 @ 7:17am
Howdy The_Last_Mando,
Can you give me more information about exactly what you mean? For example, if you are playing Materialist/Fanatic Authoritarian, other nations will always have some degree of materialist and some degree of authoritarian?
The_Last_Mando 12 Mar, 2023 @ 6:08am
It unfortunately breaks the ethic picks of other empires for me. For example if I go Fanatic militarist and authoritarian literally every other empire except gestalt consciousness will bend towards those ethics. So there may be a spiritualist but he will always have one of my ethics for example militarist. I hope this gets fixed bc its an otherwise amazing mod. (:
borsk 5 Feb, 2023 @ 10:27am
I love what this mod does! Would it be possible to do the same for oligarchic authority? They lose leaders in the same way, too
Kirov Airship 21 Oct, 2022 @ 8:16am
:D thanks :D
Jame  [author] 21 Oct, 2022 @ 7:44am
Since you said that, I made a variant to work with evolved.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2877956755

I hope that helps!
Kirov Airship 20 Oct, 2022 @ 11:47pm
damn, i wished i could've role played democracy with it, i wish it was compatible
Jame  [author] 20 Oct, 2022 @ 3:14pm
Kirov, it regrettably does not work with Stellaris Evolved. It would cause a whole host of issues for eachother that make neither work as intended.
Kirov Airship 20 Oct, 2022 @ 1:21am
Does it work with stellaris evolved?
Jame  [author] 6 Oct, 2022 @ 6:26am
Updated for 3.5.2. No discernible issues.
Neverminder 3 Oct, 2022 @ 9:14pm
oh wow this is exactly the kind of mod i need, i hope this can work with 3.5
Azure 12 May, 2022 @ 10:45am
Really helps a lot!
Azure 12 May, 2022 @ 10:45am
Please update:Tio:
Jame  [author] 15 Feb, 2022 @ 5:47pm
SABA, I appreciate it and I'm sorry that it took this long to reply. This will be implemented soon.

First of all, great mod. Second, I've noticed that your mod removes some ai personalities. I checked the game files to see where the problem could be coming from and noticed that some personalities require the election type to be democraticm. To fix it, I changed the line "has_election_type = democratic" to "has_authority = auth_democratic"
Bardagh 15 Jan, 2022 @ 7:14pm
Best news I've had all day! /srs
Jame  [author] 15 Jan, 2022 @ 7:02pm
Bardagh,

I apologize for the very long delay without a fix. It was originally on my agenda but slipped my mind entirely.

The mod has been updated for 3.2 and now includes the 50% automatic resettlement chance. Thank you for letting me know.
Bardagh 15 Jan, 2022 @ 6:04pm
No fix?
Bardagh 17 Jul, 2021 @ 12:30pm
Nick beat me to it. Major issue.
neko587 28 Jun, 2021 @ 7:11am
This mod unintentionally severly nerfs democracy, as it removes the Automatic Resettlement bonus
Jame  [author] 15 Apr, 2021 @ 1:11pm
Updated to 3.0.1. Tested and found no issues. Please report if an issue is found.
Bald 24 Mar, 2021 @ 4:24pm
Hi buddy, nice mod :)
Im agree with Morzan, more be really more useful for all the elections
If u can do it in some moment can be so cool!
Regards
Jame  [author] 14 Feb, 2021 @ 7:45am
Hey Morzan,

It would be possible to create those easily, though I am pretty busy with my real life so I don't know when I am able to get around to finishing those. I will keep updates posted here.
Morzan 13 Feb, 2021 @ 8:55pm
Is there a version that does this for all authorities with elections? It still sucks having them steal my scientists as a megacorp or oligarchy. It's less of a problem with dictatoral empires but still is nicer than your ruler dying then a new one that is also close to dying and then dying over and over again.
shiny 4 Jan, 2021 @ 12:35pm
@bad mod merchant, It is satisified but the Egalitarian bonuses (i.e. why the ethos get their bonuses like xenophiles for multiple species) says it isnt. Yet the faction itself is happy since they are anti-autocratic. I guess it is a issue with my UI.
Jame  [author] 4 Jan, 2021 @ 11:15am
@Ragtime Cowboy Joe,

This had me concerned so I double checked the requirements for faction appeasement. The default option is set so that as long as the government is not the Imperial nor Dictatorial authorities, the condition is satisfied. As such, this mod should not be causing this issue as it does not touch factions whatsoever.
shiny 3 Jan, 2021 @ 7:08pm
I am not sure why but even as a democracy (without unbiased elections or Shadow Council) my egalitarian faction is upset since I am a "Autocratic authority".
Jame  [author] 2 Jan, 2021 @ 9:19am
Actually that isn't an effect. It isn't literally dictatorial- it's still the democratic authority, which counts against authoritarian on its own.
Rhysmuth 2 Jan, 2021 @ 9:13am
Ah, that explains the sudden authoritarian faction that showed up midgame.
