Thing is, I don't play isaac anymore so I don't have any idea what kind of balance changes would make sense as much as they did in pre-rep. Also I'm not actually a modder and I don't know how to make repentance mods

Keeper doesn't start with crooked penny for me, he starts with the wooden nickel. Tried to change it in the mod files, but it just wont work.

I really like the changes in this. Lilith starting with the backpack is so much smarter than the normal design, and Maggy and Samsons changes are cool too

zRarity, this is a very important question, thanks for asking!
I often change very specific things in this mod, which only make sense if you've played a lot of this game. You sorta get a feeling like "Finally that's fixed, I've been hating that" and if you start playing with this mod, you won't get that.
Overall, as a new player you should play without mods or with minor mods for quite a while until you can truly appreciate them)

I don't think you should , play the basic game ~250 hours , then download it if you want . But discover all the mechanic of the vanilla game

Honestly though, I don't catch you. Technically yes, you can find pickups in shops and sac rooms, but that's so ridiculously rare that you normally brush off that possibility. With this mod, this possibility is pretty high.
About arcade machines - well, that's interesting to see. I guess everyone has different playstyles, but for me beggars are far more worth it.

They already do have pickups and enemies sometimes. Did you just never upgrade your shops via the donation stations?

I often use them more than bums. They are more likely to break even and can explode into the dollar or quarter iirc.

a very cool mod, now i can play bomb beggars

That part doesn't make much sense but it *gives* sense to using beggars. I usually skip key and bomb beggars completely, but now it makes sense to play them because of the items you could potentially get.
Oh and I also added some items that fit to the theme of their itempools. More key and fly related items to key beggar and more bomb related items to bomb beggar.

I fail to see how a bomb beggar dropping eucharist or blue map really makes sense, lol.
