Is this mod obselete already? Or have the developers still not fixed in themselves?
FlyingThunder 6 Nov, 2023 @ 5:50am
this mod seems to cause a TON of desyncs

I created a fix that also solves Ancient Era issues and doesn't move Corporation. Anyone interested pls. check it out here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2901589423

I just wasted the good part of a day playing a match until I realized the AI is not improving their darn luxuries! Then I remembered there was a bug with Corp&Monop. but I encountered it last years ago when I played with this game mode last time. SURELY it has been fixed during all this time. But no... it hasn't! Thanks Firaxis!
And unironicly than you for making this mod, dear creator.

Yes by chance its hard code so even if my mod moves it, you cant build it until economics.

I use a AI builder booster so no more unimproved AI lands.
JNR 7 Dec, 2021 @ 4:54am
wait, so economics unlocking corporations is entirely hardcoded? because the tech requirement for the "Corporation" improvement is the only link between the tech and corporations that I found.
Olafr_the_Viking 17 Nov, 2021 @ 2:48pm
Playing with this mod installed now, in medieval era, and can confirm that AI will improve luxuries and build industries now, but I find that the AI doesn't improve all luxuries (yet - still medieval era), but probably about 70-80 % or so. Thanks for your work, R.E.D.!

Firaxis devs should do their jobs and fix this

Not sure about it doing anything without monopoly, I think not. It wont hurt.

Extra Builder Charge Mod..

Does this mod do anything if you are not playing Monopoly mode?
Rio 9 Aug, 2021 @ 1:05am
Will try out the mod. Thanks
iluvstrategy games 14 Jul, 2021 @ 2:19pm
Can you put a link to the builder mod. Thanks
R.E.D  [author] 12 Jul, 2021 @ 10:18pm
Yes currency will trigger them to improve correctly. Yes firaxis should fix it, I think their AI developer is doing something else so that's why they don't improve the AI or fix/see an obvious bug like this.

Currency is pretty early. But I am using my builder mod to combat AIs lack of builder priority generally and the advantage a player has in the builder optimization department. With both of these mods, there is no lack of AI land development.
iluvstrategy games 12 Jul, 2021 @ 2:26pm
so let me try to understand this. The ai wont build on luxury resources until they reach currency?
so they early game is still messed up if ai cannot build luxury resources. In my game with your mod the ai still has no luxury resources and im sure some of them have researched currency. This is fucked up why dont they fix this bug its been like this for months.
R.E.D  [author] 7 Jul, 2021 @ 11:10am
This mod should not change basic mechanics just the lower the requirement so the AI function correctly. You still need the modern tech for the corporations upgrade to actually be possible.
infixo 23 May, 2021 @ 4:04am
I used the proposed fix in my current game and AI is upgrading resources and builds industries on them.
william.xantos 10 May, 2021 @ 9:25pm
Not sure if related with this mod but when I build a quarry on marble (my first luxery improvment), i get a monopoly without the visable effect. I notice this because I got +25G all of sudden.
FairyNuff 1 May, 2021 @ 9:44am
AI is upgrading resources like crazy now I've hit Classical Era. I've unlocked Currency and have a bunch of Industry but can't upgrade to Corporations yet. Maybe it'll work when I hit Economics. Either way, thanks for sorting the resource upgrading!
NoWayi 29 Apr, 2021 @ 2:59pm
thank you for this i tried it and it works fine

its really a shame by now that it did not get hotfixed....
its like they donno how they broke it and how to fix...
or if it is intended somehow than its even worse...
Treyund20 15 Apr, 2021 @ 8:38am
Could it be that this mod messes with the restrictions of placing Industries? I have a game where I had one Silk improved and a City State I was Suzerain of had one UNimproved Silk. But I was abled to build an Industry. Or is it a bug of the original game?
R.E.D  [author] 1 Apr, 2021 @ 3:17pm
It should be compatible, as stated its one line of code.
Adriaman 30 Mar, 2021 @ 10:06am
It shouldn't be related to this mod then, it's literally one line of code.
NuDDen 30 Mar, 2021 @ 10:04am
@Adriaman I had the Economy civic.
Adriaman 29 Mar, 2021 @ 6:28am
@NuDDen The button appears before you get the Economy civic, hence the problem.
NuDDen 28 Mar, 2021 @ 1:29pm
I cant build Corporations with this Mod enabled. I have an Industry on that tile but the button is grey ... :(
X_MasterDave_X 25 Mar, 2021 @ 1:07pm
Is this still compatible with actual latest Patch from today?
R.E.D  [author] 17 Mar, 2021 @ 7:51pm
Yes and No this is a fix for a bug, the bug is causing the AI to stop improving things and avoid luxuries all the way until economy, with this patch the AI will improve important things more. I have a mod that improve the AIs preference for builder and one mod that adds charges to the builder you can also use those to help the AI improve but try this fix first.
Traveler 15 Mar, 2021 @ 6:17pm
I'm not quite undrstanding. The AI is terrible about using builders to improve luxury or even stratigic resources, does this make doing that a higher priority?
djconner 4 Mar, 2021 @ 6:08pm
Looks like an excellent workaround to me. The AI is definitely developing resources, and building at least some industries. I haven't looked around closely enough to see if there are any corporations yet.
R.E.D  [author] 4 Mar, 2021 @ 12:38pm
We would have to move both Industry and corporation to pottery, I think it might be a little powerful if you get an industry that early?

The AI seem to work correctly fairly early with currency, so not sure we need to move it back, also see AI creating industries now.
Hobbs 4 Mar, 2021 @ 9:51am
It looks like good desision for the problem, thank you!
But if we need Economics to actualy create corporation, maybe it will be good desision to give formal corporation from the start? Like, in Pottery. So AI will do stuff with resources from the start!
R.E.D  [author] 2 Mar, 2021 @ 1:34pm
I pretty sure the tech stuff is stored in the save, so new game only.
X_MasterDave_X 28 Feb, 2021 @ 1:14pm
@VincentC
Hey that would be perfect, as the Bug is killed, but no new rules then at all. :)
BTW i cant see the Corporations Symbol, neither in Currency or Economics. But thats just a optical anyway.

@ at Autor of the Mod:
Does this also works on previeous started Games, or only new started Games with the Mod?
VincentC 28 Feb, 2021 @ 11:49am
I've had that as well Starwars. What I noticed is that even though the game shows that corporation is moved to Currency, it still requires economics for the Great Merchant to actually create one. If you are in between the two tech, your GM will have the option to create corporation visible, but will not allow you actually create one. Once you research Economics, then everyone is normal.
Starwars 28 Feb, 2021 @ 10:16am
It seems like the AI is indeed improving luxuries again with this mod. But when I try to create a Corporation using a Great Merchant, the game says that I need an Industry on the tile first (which I have). I tried it on two different industries I have, Sugar and Turtles, but neither works.
VincentC 27 Feb, 2021 @ 2:50pm
I can confirm that AI started improving their luxuries with this mod. Though they still don't appear to want to build industries, at least they are no longer leaving unimproved resources all over.
R.E.D  [author] 27 Feb, 2021 @ 10:32am
Yes, please confirm my observations. My game looks like this, up until AIs have currency for a little while I still have a few AI with 1-3 single luxuries. Then a little after currency is researched by AIs I get a lot of AI with multiple luxuries and 3+ luxuries.
Tigranes 26 Feb, 2021 @ 4:13pm
I hope people would provide feedback here, because this is a very simple fix for something very critical...
