Is there a mod that makes it so that you can mod negative traits on to species mid game? Say I want to make my livestock species dumb and weak, is there a mod to allow me to do that?

So for everyone interested in an alternate version of this that allows randomisation, I've uploaded it here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2505730015

However I'm not sure how well it'll work in practice, as it seems the AI loves to add neutral traits to its species with gene modding, and the end result is a bit of a mess

GonDragon: I usually disable randomisation on all my traits/civics so that they don't crop up unexpectedly in a player's galaxy, and only appear if the AI is custom-built to have them at the outset, but when I get home I'll try to publish a Neutraits version with randomisation active. Maybe there's more demand for it than I think!

MayhemX8: That might be a possibility that'd be a fit for my Overpowered Perks mod, I'll have a look at what works (or more accurately, what's within my abilities to implement)

Hey! Just a small suggestion:

Can you change the "randomized = no" to "randomized = yes" on all the traits? Without that, random empires / event generated species can't use those traits.

This mod is cool, and the only traits mod that I found usable and balanced that do not add thousand of traits. I would be using a copy of this mod with that line fixed on a multiplayer game (is uploaded on the workshop, but hidden). Just for you to know.

Cheers!

2/2 Basically the ultimate lifeform. I think it did something like gave:
+20% Habitability
+400 year max lifespan
+10% Jobs Output
+20% Happiness
+50% army damage/health
+100% army morale
-80% food upkeep
-40% Consumer goods upkeep

The downside was that it cost something like 6 or 8 trait points lol, but that's barely a downside with all of that. Anyway I thought I might suggest this to you and see what you think of it, and whether you'd be open to making a mod for it or adding it to this one. No pressure, as always, just a polite inquest. :)

1/2 Hey Ed, so listen, I got an idea for an Ascension Perk/Trait combo that's based on something I saw in another mod a long time ago that I've never been able to find. The mod basically added a third layer to the Genetic Ascension Path called "Biological Perfection." The perk allowed you to, when gene-editing, select an entirely new and OP AF trait called "Perfect Creatures" with a desc implying the species you gave this to were essentially gods-in-the-flesh in a non-magical/Shroud way.

Sure, they now all follow the format trait_ex_[name], e.g. trait_ex_frail or trait_ex_society_focus

Hey! could you maybe post a list of trait IDs?

Should be fixed now, thanks for letting me know!

Great stuff, fun if you wanna add a little more detail to a race without completely reshuffling trait picks. Though there seems to be something wrong with a line somewhere with the monstrous trait. Reads in-game as monstrous_ex_trait and the description's missing.
