Thank you for all the positive comments on the Torchlite pack modules! I'm glad you're enjoying them in single-player and multi-player!

I'm aware that multiplayer AM doesn't work right-now and I know there is a solution for that but I haven't been able yet to figure it out or find anyone else who does despite asking many veterans.

BTW if you (or anyone) would like to help test the latest AM beta, drop by my Discord community!

Thank you tukkek for all the work and this fantastic mod. We couldnt play this in multiplayer, the game crashed in when somebody entered the game. But for single player its very nice. I like the tiered maps for a nice feeling of progression
tukkek  [author] 28 Oct, 2024 @ 10:50am
As explained in the 2 short paragraphs of this mod's description that you can read in this page: the campaign has been transformed into a procedural rogue-lite map system. This is the mod.

There is no problem and there are no quests, by design. Maybe you installed this by accident?

UltraGreedier, thanks for mentioning the Human Enemies mod. I always wondered where the human types came from in a modpack that I've been using for a long time now. The author of the modpack deleted all of his Steam content some years ago, and I am the only person I know of who still has the modpack saved on my computer (and a backup location). I've slowly been trying to piece together which mods he must have used. The human enemies are, in fact, a lot of fun to play against and can be very challenging.
eepy all the time 26 Jul, 2024 @ 11:38am
yoo first of all thanks for this awesome mod. i recently felt the torchlight itch again.
May i suggest you take a look at the human enemies mod and see if you can merge/incorporate it into your mod list? https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=199661313
these enemies cast abilities at you and can get quite dangerous even in a normal playthrough. <3 <3

Glad to help. :tshappydanielpleasant:
tukkek  [author] 18 Jun, 2024 @ 8:08pm
Lucky me haha :GDEasy: count me as amazed too! I guess most of these mods don't conflict with AM but I'll write on the mods thread to try placing them on top, just to help people get started.

Thanks again, much appreciated!
HiFive 18 Jun, 2024 @ 7:59pm
Yes. I amaze myself sometimes. It seems I created a file containing lists of different mod loads that I've used in recent years. Here is the one I used for your Adventure Mode mod.

The Toy Collector
BAGMOD
Adventure mode
Variant Pets
tukkek  [author] 18 Jun, 2024 @ 7:42pm
Thanks for taking the time to confirm this HiFive! I'll add these two to the suggested-mods list too, if you don't mind!

While we're at it, do you remember how you had the load order? Someone asked me this recently and I couldn't recall off the top of my head (especially since I mostly use the Torchlite mods too).
HiFive 18 Jun, 2024 @ 7:28pm
I looked through my old comments here and I definitely used The Toy Collector with no problems and even used Variant Pets and Bagmod, as well. I bought the maps from the usual map vendor in the Mapworks and used the lectern next to the vendor to access them.
Horror-TV 18 Jun, 2024 @ 6:57pm
At the beginning, I tried removing one mod at a time from my build, but it didn’t help. After that I left only two mods: Adventure mode and The Toy Collector (Mapworks Overhaul) (v.50). I tried both options, installed each mod differently in the list, it didn’t help me. After i removed: Adventure mod, The Toy Collector (Mapworks Overhaul) (v.50) started working fine.
HiFive 18 Jun, 2024 @ 6:51pm
@ Horror-TV, I don't recall having much trouble using The Toy Collector mod with this mod. Have you tried changing which mod is above the other?
tukkek  [author] 18 Jun, 2024 @ 6:39pm
TTC has been reported to me as compatible so maybe some load-order adjustments are in order.
Horror-TV 18 Jun, 2024 @ 6:22pm
To be honest, I found this mod very interesting. However, I'm trying to make my own build using this mod, and it breaks the game using the mod: The Toy Collector (Mapworks Overhaul) (v.50).
There are 3 problems. The first is that, every time after using your maps, teleports me to the first act, not to Mapworks. (I use them in Mapworks) Second. It seems like the portal doesn't remember the location when I teleport using the scroll in the first act, and teleport back through... Every time I have to buy scrolls again, it's very annoying. And three. The portal that is in the first act, which should immediately lead you to Mapworks, takes you into the first act. Looks like It seems like all these problems is related to an outdated mod: The Toy Collector (Mapworks Overhaul) (v.50) it's a sad... Since I can't play without it, it greatly expands Mapworks and adds a lot of necessary merchants. It would be very cool if these mods were compatible.
0800otto 12 Jun, 2024 @ 5:20pm
I'm an idiot.
I thought I was commenting on the ACE mod board.

Adventure mod was the only mod I was playing with a few years ago and I'm so happy to hear that it is still alive.

I'll give it another try!

The questions I posted were related to a different mod, sorry for the confusion, and thank you for keeping this gem alive.
tukkek  [author] 12 Jun, 2024 @ 3:05pm
Hi Otto! I'm always glad to hear people are still finding and enjoying this mod, thanks for sharing!

Yes, I'm still slowly working on Adventure Mode! If you want to help test the development version:

- Do a manual Install https://github.com/tukkek/torchlight2-AdventureMode#installation
- Join the Discord server to share your experience, if you'd like! https://discord.gg/5sXXcwPCSP

AM doesn't alter skills so if you're having problems with trees, it's probably from another mod.

For technical reasons, I can't convert all maps for AM. Iron Temple might be one I couldn't use...:monstertrainaww:
0800otto 12 Jun, 2024 @ 2:23pm
Hi there, this is a great mod. I'm wondering if it's still being worked on , I know that the third skill tree for the barb is not finished.

I'm using only this mod and it's great, I wasn't able to find this out but at what level or chapter do I get access to the Iron Temple?

thank you
i am just noob 99 3 Feb, 2024 @ 7:41am
this mod canot play in multiplayer sadly if it will be more fun
HiFive 22 May, 2023 @ 9:34pm
Oh, well. I know it would take some time to implement that sort of change. Just thought I'd see how you felt about doing something like that, since I realized it would be possible to connect the storyline up that way. I appreciate all the work you put into this mod. Thanks for the reply.
tukkek  [author] 22 May, 2023 @ 7:18pm
Sadly Notch's rewards don't scale at all, so they don't fit into the mod. If you get it too low- or too high-level it's no good and the chance of getting it just at the right time is pretty much negligible.

I have confirmed the Wellspring Temple was never in the mod, which means it didn't make it in for technical reasons other than scaling. I won't be adding it short of crowd-funding that would allow me to justify that sort of time investment into a "nice extra". If you'd like to support it let me know!

Sadly, none of this is easy or fast to achieve - feel free to give a try, as the project is open-source.
HiFive 22 May, 2023 @ 6:26pm
We just need to be able to acquire all of the original maps for the story and side quests in the vanilla game.
HiFive 22 May, 2023 @ 6:24pm
I think I was getting Notches mine a bunch of times, but maybe that was before I downloaded your newest version. Notches mine has some very valuable swords in it. One of them reduces pet town travel time significantly. Some of the others, while looking quite harmless, are also very powerful, so I would prefer to continue mining that mine for those swords. There is a Wellspring map in your updated version, but it's not the specific Wellspring Temple map that would satisfy the story quest.

As I said, having the option to complete all of the game's quests would be a nice extra challenge for experienced players if they have the Toy Collector mod. Maps for the different towns can be purchased from a vendor in the Mapworks and so this makes it easy to get the story quests, and other side quests that only show up in the towns, thus making it possible to complete all quests on the game.
tukkek  [author] 22 May, 2023 @ 5:37pm
Just a clarification: I haven't removed any maps that were on the last version due to quantity issues, only due to scaling and only very few. I also removed a couple memes like Notch's Mine.

I did have to remove thousands of maps compared to my ideal vision for the quest rewards but that just means having less variations of each map (eg. only 10 variations of the same map at each tier, rather than dozens - compared to each map only having one variation in the previous version).
tukkek  [author] 22 May, 2023 @ 5:14pm
I'm pretty sure Wellspring Temple was in the mod (at least until recently, that is) because I remember doing the puzzle a few times during play-testing. If that's the case, I must have removed it due to scaling issues, which I hope to fix at some point but not in a hurry since it's very few maps.

I won't support questing as this is a rogue-lite mod. The mod is open-source so you can do it yourself or find someone else to do it. If I can get a Patreon going at some point I'll consider it.

Leveraging as many maps and content as possible truly was the goal for this mod so I'm happy to hear you find it valuable! The non-linear sequence to that content is also a plus, as are the rewards :D I also enjoy faster and stream-lined gameplay with the Torchlite mod-list to maximize theory-crafting!
HiFive 22 May, 2023 @ 4:59pm
Hello again! I've discovered that I can complete a number of quests now that I have The Toy Collector mod added to this one. However, I can't find a Wellspring Temple map. I'm thinking it ended up being one of the maps that you excluded from this mod because of the quantity limitations. I'm wondering if you would be willing to find all of the quest maps and make sure they are in this mod. I think it would make the mod more interesting and fun for those of us who are experienced TL2 players. Completing all of the quests on the game, but at a time of our choosing, would be a nice goal for us.

My character is now in his 80's levels, so I'm almost done evaluating this mod for myself. Being able to choose from so many different maps certainly makes things interesting. There are quite a few that I seldom come across in vanilla TL2 play sessions.
tukkek  [author] 19 May, 2023 @ 6:21pm
That's great :D I think I might have removed the last couple areas with scaling issues then!

Thanks for the help and happy gaming with your new character!
HiFive 19 May, 2023 @ 5:29pm
I made a second character with an easier difficulty level so I could level him up faster. He's level 55 now and, so far, I haven't seen any more places where enemies are improperly leveled. I'll let you know if I find any. :cozyspaceengineersc:
tukkek  [author] 19 May, 2023 @ 11:23am
Oof, sounds like you went through a lot of trouble all for the mod launcher to still be broken :| that sucks!

The phase beast portals and other vanilla areas will always scale to your character level, independent of what scroll tier you are coming from - that's the best I could do for now.

I know there are still some areas that aren't scaling correctly, so it would be helpful if you'd let me know if you find any of them. My current strategy is to just remove those areas until I can fix them.

With something like 100 areas, I don't think it hurts variety too much to temporarily remove a few...
HiFive 18 May, 2023 @ 8:42pm
I finally did another test for the mod launcher. I subscribed to a new mod and checked to see if it got downloaded. Nope. So, reinstalling Steam, and reinstalling Torchlight 2 did not work. I have no idea why the mod launcher is not updating mods or adding newly subscribed mods.
HiFive 18 May, 2023 @ 1:12pm
The reason I thought I'd try a reinstallation of Steam was because someone had posted a thread saying if we get that message we should just restart Steam and the problem would be fixed. Well, I couldn't find a way to restart Steam except by doing a restart of my computer. I had tried that already and it didn't work.
HiFive 18 May, 2023 @ 1:08pm
I can report that I tried another phase portal. This one was spawned by a phase beast in The Sundered Battlefield, although the map may have had a slightly different name. The phase portal was at the proper level. However, I think my character was level 36, so not far from the normal level of that area, probably. I'm not completely sure of the normal for that map, though, since I've been away from the game for some months. You probably know it better.
HiFive 18 May, 2023 @ 1:03pm
Well, I didn't know that uninstalling Steam would trigger the uninstallation of all my games, as well. So that took forever and now I'll have to download a ton of games and reconfigure all of the ones that needed stuff done to them for them to run, or run properly. So far, TL2 is working fine.
HiFive 18 May, 2023 @ 1:01pm
Well, I don't know if the mod launcher is really fixed or not, but my computer overheated, as it tends to do this time of year, and shut down mid-game. When I restarted, I was suddenly having some issues with, I think Windows, and Steam. At first, Steam would only launch from my desktop icon and not from my start menu. Fine., but then I got this error when I tried to launch TL2: SteamAPI_Init0 failed. Make sure Steam is running. Some other games would run, and then after a while nothing would run and I couldn't launch Steam at all from anywhere. My start menu was being really odd. I ended up trying to reinstall Steam.
tukkek  [author] 18 May, 2023 @ 10:51am
Glad to hear it! Good to know at least someone is using the Github page I've setup :D

If you ever fix your mod launcher, let me know how you did it, in case other people's break too?
HiFive 17 May, 2023 @ 10:07pm
I finally downloaded your updated version of this mod from Github. It works great!
tukkek  [author] 17 May, 2023 @ 2:40pm
I'm not gonna add every single compatible mod, just the ones that are in some way related to Adventure Mode - like Toy Collector giving access to more Mapworks features, while still being able to buy scrolls...

If you think any mods work especially well with AM like that let me know and I'll add them to the list!
HiFive 17 May, 2023 @ 1:53pm
Thanks for the suggestions to fix my mod-launcher issue. Clearing the Steam Cache didn't do anything. I then deleted all of the mods in the mod folder (I backed them up first) and when I opened the mod launcher again, the Bagmod I was trying to get installed finally showed up. However the Adventure Mode mod was no where to be seen in the mod folder or in the mod launcher. I added it back in using the file in my backup folder, but it's still the old version. The mod launcher still doesn't update it.

Yes, it's fine to use my name in your list of mods that are compatible with this one. I'm also using Variant Pets and Bagmod. I only added those two today and yesterday. I haven't used them yet. I'll let you know if there are any problems or if they work well.
tukkek  [author] 17 May, 2023 @ 11:30am
I created a topic to compile compatible/friendly mods https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/2553033153/3827541651925946169/

HiFive, I added your Toy Collector suggestion there. If you prefer I remove your name let me know.
tukkek  [author] 17 May, 2023 @ 11:08am
Picturing you doing a jig just made my day LOL glad to know Toy Collector works as well, that way I can recommend ti to other people along with Town Upgrade!

I have asked over on Discord and people have installed/updated the mod successfully and I have done it myself as well so I hate to say it but it seems that the problem is on your machine only...

Here's some ideas you can try:

- Manually delete the mod files so the launcher will be forced to download again (not the whole game on Steam but just the files you can find through the mod launcher)
- Delete your Steam cache https://steamhost.cn/help_steampowered_com/en/faqs/view/6AD7-820D-8BE5-E51F
- Install the mod(s) manually, you can find instructions following the link on the description
HiFive 17 May, 2023 @ 3:07am
Well, it turns out the mod launcher is not working properly. It's not downloading any mods that I've subscribed to today. Another person made a thread about the same issue on a different mod, so I'm wondering if the mod launcher has broken recently. All of the mods I already have on the list are working, but it's not updating your mod and it's not adding any mods that I've subscribed to today, and I've tried several different ones to check.
HiFive 17 May, 2023 @ 12:20am
Oh, I just checked the map vendor in the mapworks, and he has all of your maps, and I can access them from the lectern, as well. Don't mind me, I'm just doing a jig now.
HiFive 17 May, 2023 @ 12:17am
Lol, I just realized I could try adding the Toy Collector mod and see if it gives me the mapworks, and it does! I've got all of my services now and I added Variant Pets, as well. This will work better for me. I hate to just sell so many extra gems when I can transmute them, and I really wanted to be able to change gems on some gear. I'm a happy camper now. Are you sure the updated version is actually on Steam? I've never had a Steam mod that didn't auto-update when a new version was released.
tukkek  [author] 16 May, 2023 @ 5:46pm
I just now realized that I forgot to add the Discord link to the description here :| (I erased all of it by mistake when uploading the latest version)! Feel free to join us there as it's a better way to chat!

If any areas aren't scaling correctly let me know and I'll make sure to check (and try to fix) them eventually. I appreciate any help testing, a lot since it's too much testing to cover all on my own.

You seem to be using the first version of the mod (1.0). The latest version (1.1) should be 78, not 26. You can always unsubscribe and install it manually following the link with the full instructions.

Featuring both the vanilla campaign and adventure mode is technically unfeasible. The mod is fully open-source so if you can figure out how to do it and are willing to put in the work, go for it.

Again, you can get access to NPCs by updating Adventure Mode or by installing the other mod I've suggested to you earlier. You can also play on an easier difficulty to offset the challenge.
HiFive 16 May, 2023 @ 1:55pm
Okay, I do like the maps. However, I'm really wishing this was in the Mapworks, in place of the regular offerings in there. How I would like it to work would be to have a portal at the starting area that lets us transport to the mapworks right away. In there would be these maps, still starting with Tier 1, etc. We could switch between story mode and adventure mode whenever we want. Having it like this would allow us to use most of our other favorite mods. I like to use the Toy Collector mod, so I would also get the gem smash/save guys and the transmuter and gambler, because those 4 never appear in any dungeons or open-world maps, unless you've added them somewhere, but so far I haven't seen them on the 50 or so maps I've tried.

Good mod, but lacking the gem guys and transmuter it's a bit frustrating for a first-time character.
HiFive 16 May, 2023 @ 10:02am
I tried deleting the mod from my mod folder and then doing the unsubscibe/re-subscribe thing again. Steam didn't re-download it, I guess, because it didn't even show up on my mod list. I restored it, and now I still have the old version back, of course.
HiFive 16 May, 2023 @ 5:21am
The title screen says I have version 26 installed. I don't know why Steam didn't update it to your most recent version. I don't know how get the newer version.
HiFive 16 May, 2023 @ 12:25am
Unsubscribing and re-subscribing didn't work. The maps still do not have any mention of possible rewards contained therein. They only say "Right-click to enter xxxx", and sometimes they have details about monsters or characters having extra abilities like teleporting targets or faster cast speed, etc.
HiFive 16 May, 2023 @ 12:16am
Thanks for the explanation about the map tiers. I was thinking they went up every 10 levels, but every 5 levels seems much more appropriate. There are no descriptions on the maps about firearms or anything else being in the maps. Steam usually updates the mods automatically for us, so I don't know why I would have an out-of-date version. I guess I'll try exiting the game and doing an unsubscribe and then subscribe thing to see if anything changes. :)
HiFive 16 May, 2023 @ 12:06am
Well, I decided not to enter any phase portals when I kill a phase beast on an open-world map. I was doing the Frostreach map (I think that's what it's called) and killed a phase beast, but left the portal alone. If those portals are supposed to be scaled properly, I'll try the next one I get and check to see if it has the same problem.
