I'm aware that multiplayer AM doesn't work right-now and I know there is a solution for that but I haven't been able yet to figure it out or find anyone else who does despite asking many veterans.
BTW if you (or anyone) would like to help test the latest AM beta, drop by my Discord community!
There is no problem and there are no quests, by design. Maybe you installed this by accident?
May i suggest you take a look at the human enemies mod and see if you can merge/incorporate it into your mod list? https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=199661313
these enemies cast abilities at you and can get quite dangerous even in a normal playthrough. <3 <3
Thanks again, much appreciated!

While we're at it, do you remember how you had the load order? Someone asked me this recently and I couldn't recall off the top of my head (especially since I mostly use the Torchlite mods too).
There are 3 problems. The first is that, every time after using your maps, teleports me to the first act, not to Mapworks. (I use them in Mapworks) Second. It seems like the portal doesn't remember the location when I teleport using the scroll in the first act, and teleport back through... Every time I have to buy scrolls again, it's very annoying. And three. The portal that is in the first act, which should immediately lead you to Mapworks, takes you into the first act. Looks like It seems like all these problems is related to an outdated mod: The Toy Collector (Mapworks Overhaul) (v.50) it's a sad... Since I can't play without it, it greatly expands Mapworks and adds a lot of necessary merchants. It would be very cool if these mods were compatible.
I thought I was commenting on the ACE mod board.
Adventure mod was the only mod I was playing with a few years ago and I'm so happy to hear that it is still alive.
I'll give it another try!
The questions I posted were related to a different mod, sorry for the confusion, and thank you for keeping this gem alive.
Yes, I'm still slowly working on Adventure Mode! If you want to help test the development version:
- Do a manual Install https://github.com/tukkek/torchlight2-AdventureMode#installation
- Join the Discord server to share your experience, if you'd like! https://discord.gg/5sXXcwPCSP
AM doesn't alter skills so if you're having problems with trees, it's probably from another mod.
For technical reasons, I can't convert all maps for AM. Iron Temple might be one I couldn't use...
I'm using only this mod and it's great, I wasn't able to find this out but at what level or chapter do I get access to the Iron Temple?
thank you
I have confirmed the Wellspring Temple was never in the mod, which means it didn't make it in for technical reasons other than scaling. I won't be adding it short of crowd-funding that would allow me to justify that sort of time investment into a "nice extra". If you'd like to support it let me know!
Sadly, none of this is easy or fast to achieve - feel free to give a try, as the project is open-source.
As I said, having the option to complete all of the game's quests would be a nice extra challenge for experienced players if they have the Toy Collector mod. Maps for the different towns can be purchased from a vendor in the Mapworks and so this makes it easy to get the story quests, and other side quests that only show up in the towns, thus making it possible to complete all quests on the game.
I did have to remove thousands of maps compared to my ideal vision for the quest rewards but that just means having less variations of each map (eg. only 10 variations of the same map at each tier, rather than dozens - compared to each map only having one variation in the previous version).
I won't support questing as this is a rogue-lite mod. The mod is open-source so you can do it yourself or find someone else to do it. If I can get a Patreon going at some point I'll consider it.
Leveraging as many maps and content as possible truly was the goal for this mod so I'm happy to hear you find it valuable! The non-linear sequence to that content is also a plus, as are the rewards :D I also enjoy faster and stream-lined gameplay with the Torchlite mod-list to maximize theory-crafting!
My character is now in his 80's levels, so I'm almost done evaluating this mod for myself. Being able to choose from so many different maps certainly makes things interesting. There are quite a few that I seldom come across in vanilla TL2 play sessions.
Thanks for the help and happy gaming with your new character!
The phase beast portals and other vanilla areas will always scale to your character level, independent of what scroll tier you are coming from - that's the best I could do for now.
I know there are still some areas that aren't scaling correctly, so it would be helpful if you'd let me know if you find any of them. My current strategy is to just remove those areas until I can fix them.
With something like 100 areas, I don't think it hurts variety too much to temporarily remove a few...
If you ever fix your mod launcher, let me know how you did it, in case other people's break too?
If you think any mods work especially well with AM like that let me know and I'll add them to the list!
Yes, it's fine to use my name in your list of mods that are compatible with this one. I'm also using Variant Pets and Bagmod. I only added those two today and yesterday. I haven't used them yet. I'll let you know if there are any problems or if they work well.
HiFive, I added your Toy Collector suggestion there. If you prefer I remove your name let me know.
I have asked over on Discord and people have installed/updated the mod successfully and I have done it myself as well so I hate to say it but it seems that the problem is on your machine only...
Here's some ideas you can try:
- Manually delete the mod files so the launcher will be forced to download again (not the whole game on Steam but just the files you can find through the mod launcher)
- Delete your Steam cache https://steamhost.cn/help_steampowered_com/en/faqs/view/6AD7-820D-8BE5-E51F
- Install the mod(s) manually, you can find instructions following the link on the description
https://discord.com/invite/5sXXcwPCSP
You seem to be using the first version of the mod (1.0). The latest version (1.1) should be 78, not 26. You can always unsubscribe and install it manually following the link with the full instructions.
Featuring both the vanilla campaign and adventure mode is technically unfeasible. The mod is fully open-source so if you can figure out how to do it and are willing to put in the work, go for it.
Again, you can get access to NPCs by updating Adventure Mode or by installing the other mod I've suggested to you earlier. You can also play on an easier difficulty to offset the challenge.
Good mod, but lacking the gem guys and transmuter it's a bit frustrating for a first-time character.
