This is really useful for a more RP focused run where you want some of your custom empires to exist as guaranteed rivals for later in the game. Or if you want to run a galaxy with a variation of tech levels, similar to Star Trek.

Hey, how is the 4.0 Compatability? Thank you!
Molten Ring  [author] 11 May @ 4:59pm
I dont know yet. However, I do plan on updating it to 4.0 when things are more stable on the devs side.

What do I do to stop the pop up spam when starting a game?
Molten Ring  [author] 5 May @ 6:15pm
Go ahead buddy
Ph00nix 5 May @ 5:57am
molten ring can i use your events code for my mod?
from origin event tier 4
Ph00nix 2 May @ 6:21am
how can i make my custom mod 5 hyperlane away?
Ph00nix 9 Feb @ 3:37am
can you give mars two moons?
Ty of Troy 28 Dec, 2024 @ 11:19am
thank you, that mod you suggested actually worked
Molten Ring  [author] 28 Dec, 2024 @ 7:28am
Well, in Vanilla you actually only have 2 civic points, so that mod is working for you. If you want more, use this: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2467333700

This is the one that I use and gives you 5 points, plenty enough for more empire customization
Ty of Troy 27 Dec, 2024 @ 10:01pm
Perhaps I used the wrong one, could you tell me which exact one you used? As there are many of them
Ty of Troy 27 Dec, 2024 @ 10:01pm
I just tired this mod and More Civic Points and I was still stuck with 3 civic points, so it seem to not work on my end. And I tested this with only this one and More Civic Points active
Molten Ring  [author] 27 Dec, 2024 @ 9:57pm
Yes, exactly. You can use multiple mods. In fact, almost every mod in Stellaris works with this one, so you should be fine.
Ty of Troy 27 Dec, 2024 @ 2:53pm
@Molten Ring you are telling me that you use other mods on top of this one and it works?
Molten Ring  [author] 27 Dec, 2024 @ 7:15am
Unfortunately there's no way to do that, I tried when I made the mod. I usually use a mod that increases the starting number of civics, like More Civics Points or Ethics and Civics Bug Branch.
Ty of Troy 26 Dec, 2024 @ 9:51pm
anyway you could make it so that the advanced tech civics dont cost points? As I would like to have a more fleshed out empire with a certain origin and still have civic points left over
Ph00nix 16 Dec, 2024 @ 12:14pm
i use a seccond mod to make my galaxy bigger
Molten Ring  [author] 16 Dec, 2024 @ 5:14am
It still works for the current patch
Koomsta 13 Dec, 2024 @ 2:24pm
does it still work on 3.14? or do should we roll back to 3.12? Thanks so much for this mod!
Molten Ring  [author] 7 Aug, 2024 @ 12:15pm
You can check the mod's folder, but essentialy you need to do it by using events for constructing starbases, outposts, colonies, buildings, pops, etc. It gets exponentially longer the more systems you want to start with. I wouldn't advise going for 12 hyperlanes away, since that could cover most of the galaxy depending on its size.

You can check the code used in my mods folder, in the \events\id_events.txt and in the common\on_actions\on_actions.txt
Ph00nix 6 Aug, 2024 @ 6:07am
how do you make a orgin like Young Empire?
i want make a empire with systems 7 or 12 hyperlanes away from your homeworld colonized.
Molten Ring  [author] 2 Aug, 2024 @ 2:40pm
I'm glad you like it.
Filur-SWE 30 Jul, 2024 @ 9:34pm
Thank you so much i literally cant play stellaris without this mod!
Ph00nix 14 Jul, 2024 @ 3:11am
maby a extragalactic system cluster with old empire orgin?
Molten Ring  [author] 12 Jul, 2024 @ 12:55pm
I would recommend in the time being to use the federations origin in combination with an advanced society civic.

I'll be very busy in the next few months, so I'll just be releasing updates. However, if it's something that can be done and it's not very time consuming I'll do it.
Ph00nix 12 Jul, 2024 @ 12:43pm
YES human species with two others?
Molten Ring  [author] 12 Jul, 2024 @ 12:36pm
I didn't understand your suggestion. Are you suggesting something in the lines of the federations origins in combination with advanced starts?
Ph00nix 11 Jul, 2024 @ 12:16pm
can you make one for the human species Advanced Society? with a federatie two a four members?
Asteros'arius 8 May, 2024 @ 3:14pm
Its been so long since i last used the mod, almost forgot about it but now it returns and i'll use it like never before
Molten Ring  [author] 8 May, 2024 @ 9:19am
Updated to 3.12.
Molten Ring  [author] 7 May, 2024 @ 8:14am
I took a break from stellaris & modding in general. Now that I'm settling down some personal matters I think I'll be able to come back. I have some new features planned, and I welcome any suggestions aswell.
The Civil Russian 7 May, 2024 @ 4:48am
For anyone wondering, this mod still works for 3.11, all be it with some finicky moments
Machiranae 14 Jan, 2024 @ 11:03pm
For anyone who's interested, this mod shockingly seems to work on Pyxis 3.10.4. I can add these origins/civics to empires during empire creation, and they seem to spawn fine. Whether this doesnt break anything in a way i cant spot is a possibility, but i would say that this is safe to use as of 15.01.24
Annarresti 10 Jan, 2024 @ 8:44am
Easily one of my favourite mods. The flexibility with origin/civic is so well done
Master Green Fox 9 Jul, 2023 @ 10:47pm
Man, I like the civics. I absolutely hate the advanced start garbage though. If I choose any other start that Children of the Cosmos I might as well be shooting myself in the head since the Random gen AI just keep picking it up.
I really wish I could find an alternative for the Civics of this dead mod.
Shoff 5 Jun, 2023 @ 9:07am
Yeah, I figured, but I always like seeing similar mods in the comments, and I'm sure others do, too. Like I said, it's not a 1:1 either; the rewritten version has no Civics.
Cherubael 5 Jun, 2023 @ 2:56am
the last time i played, the mod worked. outdated, yes, but it worked
Shoff 4 Jun, 2023 @ 8:59pm
@Cubile Oddity
Someone published a rewritten version consisting of just the Advanced Start portion (no Civics in this mod I'm linking):

update pls
Ph00nix 23 Mar, 2023 @ 9:03am
how can I upgrade this mod?
Ph00nix 2 Feb, 2023 @ 7:18am
update?
Cherubael 6 Dec, 2022 @ 3:23am
will it be updated to 3.6.x?
Yonderwolf 29 May, 2022 @ 6:45pm
Yeah I'm gonna be honest guys no update is coming. How do I know, because it's very clear it's not.
Agent 14 Apr, 2022 @ 1:01pm
I know you're working on a bigger update, but is there a chance for an early, bugfix only update to the existing mod? Thank you for your mod, I miss using it a lot, it helped me a lot with roleplay runs.
Georgio501 13 Apr, 2022 @ 5:54am
Hi all,

Workaround for the Children of the Cosmos spam if any of the advice below isn't working/you only noticed this mid game like me and want to take it off the table without having to start a new save.

Go to the .txt file which contains the Children of the Cosmos trait info: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\2559730608\common\traits"

Set the multiplier values to zero (or remove the lines entirely). This will effectively remove them from having an effect (note, this doesn't multiply base income etc. by zero, just removes the impact of the modifiers).

Set immortal leaders to "no"

You're now left with empires which have a free trait which has no impact on their empire, so no real harm done to them bar losing a species modification point.
Mist 7 Apr, 2022 @ 7:50am
(DeepL Translation)
If you want the AI to stop acquiring the Children of the Cosmos trait, try adding the following code

ai_weight = {
weight = 0
}

Now the AI should not acquire this trait XD
Skill Less 5 Apr, 2022 @ 12:57pm
@Bluetail To delete the trait from the ai we have to uninstall the mod. AFAIK this should be safe.. only problem is we loose all features from the mod with this approach.
Bluetail 4 Apr, 2022 @ 3:42pm
I was about to point this out in my save, been playing for awhile just to be flooded with broken AI pops, cant children of cosmos be only limited to players? I might uninstall cause of this and I don't want that, I like the idea of roleplaying as my species or other species being silghtly more advanced than others, or even starting as one.
EvilReader 4 Apr, 2022 @ 9:07am
so the fix didn't work for me, bunch of species started getting the cosmos trait, I had to overwrite my save with an eariler backup.

So i'd reccommend also setting all the traits values to zero or no respectivley, just in case.

Other than that tho great mod.
