Well, I don't think it's a big deal. The shields and clothing in his mod are beautiful but the rest are just the same old assets with better definition. I personally don't use HD mods at all because it just worsens the game's performance too much. Plus I play with 40 units per army.

Realistic Combat Overhaul is a mod designed to be used alone. Unfortunately it won't work with almost any roster overhauls. If you want a graphic improvement I believe a new mod by somebody else was released, it upgrades atropatkan appearance.

Its great but... I play it with DEI - Realistic Combat Overhaul.. and so many units are so strong.... breaching power.... Maximum is 1 in normal and many your archers have 5 :D

Additional buffs applied to Persia in the form of various bonuses to their economy and faction effects. Roster is expanded to include parthian melee infantry and some bactrian auxiliaries.

I updated the population script for the mod based on DEI 1.3.4.

I hope this resolves any issues if the mod had any. I would like to reiterate that this mod does not impact reforms at all. Any Persian/Parthian reforms should trigger just fine as intended in vanilla.

that make 2 campaign, i complete both reform, but that not give access to some units ( Royal Immortals, Royal Guard on foot and late Parthian units) but i have for exemple the Late Iranian Cataphract unit. We have to wait a jumber of turn or make something special for have them or those units just not work ?

the dehqan are already quite powerful considering no unit rivals them for their price save the parthian roster. The parthians have to be destroyed in order for you to have the reforms anyway. I'm not sure about which persian noble horse archers you are discussing. Do you mean parthian noble horse archers?

Iranian hoplites and Persian Archers buffed, with adjusted prices. Various unit stats adjusted for better immersion, renamed Seleukia into Babylon so it feels more neutral whether a hellenic or eastern faction ends up owning at making it its capital. Updated Median general visuals further with more Persian shields. All Atropatene elite units given revamped appearance. Updated Median roster to include a wider variety of units: Some Armenian elite units that could've fought as mercenaries, a lot of Parthian tribal cavalry and core cavalry units, some Greek units, scythed chariots and war elephants.

The defend formation is does not function well against cav charges. That's just how the formation is.

Base income for media was reduced as it was too high, but it was compensated for double trade bonus with client states to better incentivize the formation of client states in the early game. Median general skins were reworked a bit further.

@the_moon_wolfy @Chrissant I guess something is wrong with my game then because the Faravahar is the symbol that I see for Media with a red background and the green stripes to indicate the soldiers. I put the mod right below the DEI mods so I don't understand why I don't have the Shahbaz.

I also wasn't asking to remove the Shahbaz as I was inquiring if it originally was the Derafsh Kaviani because I wasn't sure if I was losing my mind or not.

It's supposed to be a Achaemenid mod Takeo, so no, do NOT get rid of the Eagle. That would defeat the purpose of the mod

Base DEI already uses the Faravahar for Media anyway.

I was feeling Rome II again and of course I had to play with this excellent mod once more! Did you change the symbol to the Faravahar? I can't remember if you had the Derafsh Kaviani or the Shahbaz as symbol for Media, or was it always the Faravahar. It has been so long I can't remember.

I think late-game Media is already proto-Sassanid, between the unit changes, unit language changes (Old --> Middle Persian), and confederation name of Iranshahr if you confederate.

That said, if you wanted to push the Sassanid idea even further in a submod, I would DEFINITELY try it.

If you need an idea for a crazy Sassanid weapon, look up the Panjagan. No examples survived, so there's room for artistic license. You could make it into a single-use, short-range, shotgun-crossbow for a Savaran unit.

There were, but once I saw people who were already good at it making something similar I decided to just wait. Honestly the best way to do it would be to make a separate submod which converts persia into a proto-sassanid state, and that mod would have all the extra units, flag changes, general reskins, and so forth.

That either means you have expanded so much that your imperium level penalties are high enough to override your province's taxation, or your province taxation is turned off. This happens quite often in the late game especially when you conquer really poor settlements.
