any way to adapt this to my Gustav gun? it only elevates since you have to turn the whole vehicle to turn
Drip Inspector 18 Sep, 2023 @ 3:38am
How would you go about calculating the angles for a mortar/howitzer style cannon?
Might use these calculations for an engineering project I'm doing for school
RealCagus 17 Sep, 2023 @ 2:58am
@Nikitos you need to move the math block there too, because wihout it the system seems not to work for some reason
yahgamer 22 Aug, 2023 @ 4:49am
can you update this to the newer version
Nikitos 13 Jul, 2023 @ 9:44am
I moved this microcontroller to my tank, connected everything. For some reason it doesn't work. HELP, THE AUTHOR!
Wize 15 Jun, 2023 @ 9:33am
rockets arent too accurate but otherwise its great. the cannons are almost always right on target
aeroNes 23 May, 2023 @ 3:06am
is there a way to make the laser only be toggled for a sec instead of it being toggled all the time
Dec 8 Feb, 2023 @ 8:41am
Can you make a version accounting for speed as well?
Just a Pilot 14 Dec, 2022 @ 3:19pm
Is it possible to make this work as a CCIP on aircraft?
DemonTittyInspector 4 Dec, 2022 @ 2:52pm
Would it be possible to extend the range by having a second group say a tank with a laser pointer 6km out, send that information back to the artillery gun I have set up to fire. Essentially extending that 4km range further?
DoubleStar 17 Oct, 2022 @ 2:00am
@Cream because the laser distance sensor has max range of 4km
DoubleStar 17 Oct, 2022 @ 1:58am
Is it possible to make a very simple ballistic calculator using only the shell velocity and gun elevation angle? If yes, how?
Cream 16 Oct, 2022 @ 12:17pm
Why can it only go up to a distance of 3999m?
Borderline Autistic 18 Feb, 2022 @ 4:18pm
Does this work with negative elevation angles?
orion's homuculus 5 Feb, 2022 @ 5:34am
you need the weapons dlc to turn weapons on, and when you have it when starting a new world there should be a check box called "weapons dlc", this will turn off the weapons if you un check it, it is checked by default
oliverdevon 23 Jan, 2022 @ 1:04pm
how do i turn the wepons on?
Phil 16 Jan, 2022 @ 8:56am
If I have the aim camera stabilised, should I just feed that into the cannon elevation or stabilise that as well?
GrumpyCamper42 5 Jan, 2022 @ 11:35am
great system but im having a lot of issues with artillery shooting very low, any suggestions?
jncjr232 17 Dec, 2021 @ 8:21pm
I love this Ballistic Calculator system easy to set up and really simple to use, but i do have a question. Could i use the micro-controllers with creations i make and put them up on the workshop? I would of course give credit for the use of this Ballistic Calculator.
totaltechno 13 Nov, 2021 @ 9:59am
im building a warship with this system but the horizontal axis keep getting out of synk, im using turret rings for the turrets and a velocity pivot for the fire director, do you know how to fix?
Cripsoid 8 Nov, 2021 @ 1:41pm
How gunElv,t,success=calc(dist, elv) real? You say, gunElv = bool success = double t?
Cripsoid 8 Nov, 2021 @ 1:28pm
what make calc() and how it use?
RedPug 5 Nov, 2021 @ 4:28pm
in the description you mentioned rocket stuff. If it's the premade rocket pod rockets, it is be possible, but at the same time those are really inaccurate. Any custom rockets will be impossible to say "use this constant for any rocket" because the air in this game is soup.
williamsa1997 2 Nov, 2021 @ 4:14am
just a suggestion, add an mg on the same position as the laser, this will potentially allow for the AI gunner mod to utilise your system provided the AI thinks that it's shooting the mg and not the main gun, potentially even for leading targets since the ai will be aiming on target while the main gun is offsetting if/when that's added to the microcontroler.
Phil 1 Nov, 2021 @ 1:25pm
I am using a velocity pivot for the camera as it is easy to change sensitivity that way.
For anyone trying that, you have to input relative tilt*4 into the function blocks.
jeremism30 27 Oct, 2021 @ 10:44pm
Very accurate! Awesome, thank you.

I didn't think it would work well on a ship, but it's amazing on a ship. Using it on an artillery cannon and hitting destroyers on the horizon with it.

Great for tanks too.
Rufus Shinra 25 Oct, 2021 @ 1:07am
Very nice system, I used its code with some modification to make it use targeting data from a distant laser designator and compensate for ownship speed. So thanks!
HonzaVinCZ 24 Oct, 2021 @ 2:10pm
Hello, I little struggle to implement your system into my turret. You use robotic pivot and I use velocity pivot so I can't use seat values as input to your offset calculation. Instead I tried to use forward tilt sensor but it doesn't seem to be accurate way. Can I ask you to add me to your friends and discuss that please?
northans 24 Oct, 2021 @ 10:24am
@regrola @alex, here's a working demo with a couple added modules that make this the first fully integrated ballistic machine: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2635830503
regrola 22 Oct, 2021 @ 8:26am
how good does it work with the artillery
?
Lobachevsky 22 Oct, 2021 @ 3:50am
Thanks for the ballistics calculator. I'm on a quest for a proper lead calculator, and having someone do the distance conversion (or even just having the characteristics of the different guns) is worth gold.
fcalvay 21 Oct, 2021 @ 10:37am
@thelastengeineer just add the calculator as a final layer for aiming
ciala5 20 Oct, 2021 @ 10:48am
select it and chose wich weapon your useing from MG to bertha canon it has them all by defult its set to heavy AC
Mr_smilesツ 20 Oct, 2021 @ 9:17am
@alex it is made to work with that guns that where put on it it is not calibrated to use artillery cannons you would have to calibrated it to use the artillery cannons on it
Bhatou Hammersbald 20 Oct, 2021 @ 7:34am
it doesnt work... elevation offset is still 0....
Zheeto 20 Oct, 2021 @ 3:39am
guys its just a sample so that you can use it to make your own.
Alex 19 Oct, 2021 @ 7:52pm
Hi, so I had this artillery turret that I wanted to install your calculator on, i replicated and cut/pasted all the components onto it and directly mirrored it to fit my artillery turret but i just dosen't seem to work. The gun aims at a much lower elevation than it needs, and ive got the calculator hooked up to the pivots but it just dosent work. can you help me?
inferious95 19 Oct, 2021 @ 7:16pm
How do you activate Infinite ammo and electric?
trainman1351 19 Oct, 2021 @ 3:35pm
@TheLastEngineer There is a controller that can auto track targets, but it doesn't have this ballistics calculator in it

Green Goose 19 Oct, 2021 @ 11:27am
Can you make one for the rockets?
Golden 19 Oct, 2021 @ 10:36am
For gravity is the equation supposed to be square routed to find M/s^2 or is it just kept as 30 m/s
TheLastEngineer 19 Oct, 2021 @ 2:40am
is there a way to add some kind of radar tracking and autofire?
MikeM86 18 Oct, 2021 @ 2:56pm
Currently trying to couple this with the MWS-B L30M and running into headaches. Anyone else manage to integrate this yet?
The Mighty Pringles 18 Oct, 2021 @ 1:28pm
I tried applying this to my vehicle that uses an artillery cannon but the shots always land way low even at something as close as 500m.
I double checked all my connections and functions with the advanced model side by side, even tried a heavy AC on my creation but it still shot low so I must've missed something but would you have any clue what?

My camera and Laser distance sensor are placed between my two cannons 1-2 blocks higher than the gun barrel.
The Big Shell 18 Oct, 2021 @ 12:13pm
hi, i have a question ? where have you get all of these informations about "Shell Speed, Life Time, Gravity" etc ?
Rickens_jr 18 Oct, 2021 @ 9:13am
how would one get the logic? i want to make this but idk how to reverse engineer the microcontroller
HonzaVinCZ 18 Oct, 2021 @ 6:18am
@BinChicken add composite input from radar, read number ID 1 ( target 1 distance ) and replace laser distance by that. Then you get distance to radar target. To make it more sophisticated, you could add numerical switchbox to switch between laser and radar distances.
Bin Chicken 17 Oct, 2021 @ 1:39pm
how would you go about hooking this up to a radar?
