Was taking the previous replies advice about switching Templars back to LWotC deck and ended up finding this.

XcomLWClassData.ini:
";NOTE ON TEMPLAR SHIELDS: If you want shields still, obtain your own class perk trees from older builds or from a rework such as Kiruka's. Then make the below changes noted as well

;change the below to false if you want to use shields:
bNoSecondaryWeapon=true
-AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon, WeaponType="sidearm")

In the XcomLWOverhaul.ini:

Quickly tested after following instructions and Templar didn't reset on load or when swapping back from overworld.

for some reason, templar gauntlets dont appear on the factory even after do the de research and the autopsy of archons,mutons/advent stunt lancer

i use the console to give it to me and still without work so x,d help ?

I can confirm as well that the solution proposed by BTAxis (using the standard LWOTC deck instead of the modified one) works.
I would think that one of the new ability might be causing the problem, but I have so far been unable to identify where the problem comes from.
But using the standard LWOTC templar deck seems to have fixed the problem and the Templar now retains his rank.

For the templar shield, it is possible to set it back on. It is a simple ini change (just two lines to modify), and all the explanations are provided in the classdata.ini of the LWOTC mod (in the templar section at the end).

I'm also having the issue mentioned below, with the Templar's abilities getting reset after every mission. My Templar also doesn't have a shield or any visible slot to equip one.

My problem goes away if I remove the SoldierRanks data from the config file. I can use the XCOM deck as defined by the mod okay, but it seems that with the regular perk tree, the game fails to properly save the soldier. It's strange, because the modded tree does show up properly in the game.

For now, I'm just going to go ahead with the LWOTC tree.

My templars have issues too. They lose their perks every time I load into the strategic layer from a mission or a save, and are treated like a fresh unit. The XCOM deck is randomized every time. This only happens with the Templars; the other hero units seem to be fine.

Hey, great work on all this (and your other mods), but I'm having trouble following the instructions to replace the ranks in the LWOTC ini. I'm not finding templar anywhere in my game files to replace it in the mod folders. My other soldiers are using your decks, but for whatever reason, my templars don't change.

@Kiruka Just starting to get back into the game, preparing to start a new LWOTC campaign.

Does this allow for Iridar’s ‘Soul Shot’ with the Templars if I have his Perk Pack installed? Or do I need a different mod?

Unfortunately, I think the lack of shield is a feature not a bug. Ultimately, I've given up on this particular Kiruka mod--it's just not too my taste (unlike virtually all of Kiruka's other work).

I have the same problem as hiro. I copied mod folder in XcomGame\Mods, but templar has no shield and reaper doesnt have knives.

(Whenever I think I m making progress with my mod list, there's always something that comes up).
This time I had empty perk rows with a few perks scattered on the soldier's abilities tree.

Moved the mod folder over to XcomGame\Mods folder and it's all good.

Thanx for having the sidenote, cause I ve reached the point where I just wanna play and stop troublshooting :)

This mod is great except for one key thing: I hate templar having the Ballistic Shield. it interferes with any posing I want to do with them. Is there a way to remove the shield from Templars?

I am not using the psionic overhaul, but would otherwise be interested in this. As I read it, Templars would get a Psi progression that's too low this way. Where would I have to change this, and any idea what would be the normal value?

Sure that is possible, but it wil only affect soldiers you get afterwards. If you want existing soldiers to get the new skill trees use the console command respecselectedsoldier while looking at them in the armory.

@Shalashalska The changes to Shadow are LWOTC-native changes. It's not the sort of thing I can set easily set up config options for with a separate mod like this one.

I like most of these changes, but I'm not much of a fan of how limited Reapers feel as a scout unit with shadow only lasting two turns. Is there an easy way to revert Reapers to having a more vanilla-like Shadow?

LW2 classes and secondary weapons are included in LWotC, and New Promotion Screen is replaced by Community Promotion Screen as a requirement for LWotC. From all required mods from Shadow Ops you only need the Highlander.

Hello. Sorry for the ("generic") question but when you (authors) list the Mods needed to install "your" Mod... do we need to install "all" the Mods that that Mod listed in your Mod exgige? For example here in this Mod one of the Mods required is the "[WOTC] Shadow Ops Perk Pack" so I need to install "only" [WOTC] Shadow Ops Perk Pack or also the other Mods that this Mod requires as: ( [WOTC] LW2 Classes and Perks; [WOTC] New Promotion Screen by Default; [WOTC] LW2 Secondary Weapons ..). I'm starting to play LWOTC and I have this doubt since many Mods require the "[WOTC] Shadow Ops Perk Pack", for example. Sorry if I didn't understand... but this doubt persists since I started (finally) playing LWOTC recently arriving here on Steam. Thanks!

i have a question relating to the requirement of shadow ops, considering the fact that lwotc has all of the requirements provided by itself do i need those mods?
