Have you ever run into a problem where the mesh faces/normals are facing the wrong way? I normally mess with XNALara models (or parts of them, atleast) so I could rip a cool hair-do for a PAC outfit, and 9 times out of 10 part of the texture is see-thru from the outside (not the inside) as a result of woops'd polys
But I know that's not an issue when you've made it into an .mdl, or are using it in XNA-- it's just the way PAC3 renders the .objs, I guess, but still confusing.

It'd be wicked to one day see a bigass collection of Final Fantasy stuff.
