Oh, thank you very much for the kind words Sirreal!! I'm actually trying so hard to get back on tracks and make mods again, your comment actually gave me a little bit of extra energy to do that, thanks a lot =)
Sirreal 22 May @ 1:07pm
Got it, thanks! Great mods btw.
Alpha Drako  [author] 22 May @ 12:31am
Oh, you just need to have water in your inventory. It's one of the first upgrades from the Matter Manipulator, so it will not be a problem =)
Sirreal 21 May @ 9:57pm
How do you add water to the watering can?
Alpha Drako  [author] 9 Mar @ 5:15pm
Oooohh, I see! It's indeed something you would love to explore! I always think that when it comes to wires people usually thinks that need to make something very complicated, or with loooots of different inputs and outputs, but I trully always loved a nice and simple "lever activate that thing"! Also, thanks for talk about it, because everytime someone talk at one of my mods I really, really got HYPED to get back to modding for my favorite game in the world *-*
TiraboTurbos 9 Mar @ 4:45pm
I'll be honest. I've NEVER messed around with wiring, choosing to leave the slot on the hotbar that WOULD be for the wiring function, empty so that I can use it to "sheath" my weapons and not carry something. I guess I knew of buttons from the elevators in the world, but I didn't even know levers EXISTED. XD

*sigh* Something to consider...
Alpha Drako  [author] 9 Mar @ 4:15pm
A lever, a buttom, a switch, a dor, anything that can input a signal =)
TiraboTurbos 9 Mar @ 2:10pm
Ugh, wiring... And what am I supposed to wire it to?
Alpha Drako  [author] 8 Mar @ 6:29pm
Oh, it's pretty simple! You just need to put something in there (wheat, cocoa pods, coffee, or sugar cane) and turn the processor in with any wire input =)
TiraboTurbos 8 Mar @ 4:15pm
And how does the processor work?
Alpha Drako  [author] 8 Mar @ 3:02pm
Hey Turbo! It's the same place as vanilla: "Sprinkler is a farming object made using an Agricultural Station. It may be placed on unoccupied ground 2 blocks wide, and is one block tall."

The agricultural station is the second tier of the Foraging Table!

The sprinkler costs 5 durastell and 5 gold bar! =)
TiraboTurbos 8 Mar @ 2:38pm
When do we unlock sprinklers, and what station do we build them at? Same place as furniture, or the survival station?
Kinsect 8 Mar @ 1:57pm
I'm guessing this cannot work with Compact and Perennial Crops
(nor [oSB] One-For-All Compact and Perennial Crops Patch)
and also Wet Rice Farming?
Alpha Drako  [author] 4 Feb @ 6:09am
Thaaaanks! I live at other country tho, but still, staying safe the best I can <3. Thank you for the kind words!
TiraboTurbos 4 Feb @ 12:58am
No prob, stay safe. Especially if you live near California.
Alpha Drako  [author] 3 Feb @ 6:21pm
Hey Turbotowns, I'm planning to do something to actually boost the crops, like a way of composting or something like that. I already kinda know how to do it, but just need to get some time (because life stuff), but that's something that I really, really want to work on =)
TiraboTurbos 3 Feb @ 3:04pm
Got an idea for something we can use unwanted/excess saplings for?
Alpha Drako  [author] 26 Jan @ 1:05pm
Nope, none of my mods should require a new save. But I should warn you that there's a little possibility of problems with some other crops mod, like Perennial crops, and others like that =)
Pyromaniac1 26 Jan @ 7:47am
Will this require a new save?
Alpha Drako  [author] 26 Jan @ 2:49am
Hey Pyromaniac1. If you're talking about the version 1.4.4, then yeah, it was made using that version =)
Pyromaniac1 25 Jan @ 2:04pm
Is this still compatible with the latest verison of starbound?
TiraboTurbos 19 Sep, 2024 @ 11:26pm
No prob, looking forward to it!
Alpha Drako  [author] 19 Sep, 2024 @ 11:25pm
Yeah, thanks for that. Actually after you talked about that I made a really, really interesting and solid plan in my mind and now I know how to actually code that, either with a machine to fertilize the soild, or with a fertilizer sack that can be used by hand. Will work on that as soon as possible and you will see the second mod using rotten food to grow plants u.u. Thanks again =)
TiraboTurbos 19 Sep, 2024 @ 4:01pm
No prob, take your time! Just thought it was weird that there was NO mod that makes use of rotten food besides Frackin(every mod on here just turns OFF rot, which feels a bit cheaty, making fridges superfluous). I saw this mod, based on farming, and thought: hey, it probably does something, saw it didn't, and made my comment. XD
Alpha Drako  [author] 19 Sep, 2024 @ 3:00pm
Hey Turbotowns, that's definitely a thing that I want to do when I back to visit that mod. I'm (as always seems like) very focused working at the temperature/worlds/weather mod (which is not big deal as it may sounds, but it's taking LOT of work to be finished), and after that I'm planning to see what I can do to improve the Alpha Farm, Alpha Ammo (which really need some love) and maybe even Alpha Battle. But for real, the idea of fertilizer is one of my very favorites, and I'll really try to implement that (and also will try to bring some stuff for animals). Thanks for the comment and the patience =)
TiraboTurbos 19 Sep, 2024 @ 1:22am
What about using rotten food for fertilizer? Like what Frackin does?
Pixus 13 Jul, 2024 @ 11:06am
Yeah, no problem! Glad I could help!
Alpha Drako  [author] 13 Jul, 2024 @ 10:41am
Yeah, of course. I'm pretty sure I will do like the lamp, which starts in state "on" and give you the choice to turn on/off with the wires instead of be only wireable haha. Will work at this on the next update, thanks a lot for the review! =)
Pixus 12 Jul, 2024 @ 8:38pm
Okay, that's what I was confused about with turning it on, and thanks for the clarification! I think that should be important to note for it, or you should do an automatic version of that or something for the future.
Alpha Drako  [author] 12 Jul, 2024 @ 8:33pm
Hey Pixus! You can just put the item you want to process inside the processor, and then turn it on with a power source (a lever or any other thing that emits wire signal), sorry for that not be too much explained by default! You can put coffee to make coffee powder, and wheat to make flour, and sugarcane to make sugar =)
Pixus 12 Jul, 2024 @ 6:03pm
Quick question, but how does the Crop Processor work?
Alpha Drako  [author] 30 Apr, 2024 @ 2:38am
Hello LoudBuddy! For now it only affects vanilla game plants, fruits and veggies. I'm kinda working on an update for the Alpha Farm while working on a huge temperature system mod, so I guess I'll keep with the vanilla for now, and maybe add some crops by myself later. The other modded plants will not crash or anything like that, so you can use them with no problems, they just won't have the "rotting" stage. Thank you very much for your comment =)
Alpha Drako  [author] 23 Apr, 2023 @ 7:36pm
Thank you very much for your kind words Zazen, for real! The bottled water idea is just great, even if I'm scared by how I can be obsessed and scale that in a way that you need a chef knife, pan, and a spoon to make the rice hahaha, but for real, it's a good idea. At first I tought about put the rice to stack ten max, and make the boiled rice to use the ten grains, but then I tought a bag could be better to avoid the feeling of catch "ten grains of rice" and make a great dish with that. I'm backing to modding this week, and I'll make the potatoes lasts way longer, promise! And also will change the color of the wheat bag to make it more different! Thank you again very much, I want to make new stuff these days, and I really appreciate your help and honesty a lot!!!
Grand Poo-Bah de Canadiannaise 23 Apr, 2023 @ 12:54pm
Hey Drako, thanks for you reply.
I actually really like your first mod, the Alpha Details.
Like you mentioned perhaps their could be a stack limit to rice and wheat? I mean, a meal's worth of dry rice is lighter than a meal's worth of fresh meat. But I have to agree, rice breaks the food necessity in the game. Unlimited stacking, only needs a campfire. I agree there should be a stack limit, (that stuff gets heavy, but a full sack will feed you a lot). I think water, or bottled water should be required as an ingredient with rice, and boiled pearl peas and some other recipes.
As for potatoes, I always like how they can last so long. It's fairly realistic. Pop em in a cellar, and they're happy for ages.
Lastly, as for the icons, you did a pretty good job drawing them honestly, I just think the wheat and rice need to look more different so they can be differentiated at a glance.
Thanks for you awesome work.
Alpha Drako  [author] 23 Apr, 2023 @ 6:12am
Hey Zazen. I'm sorry you didn't liked the icons, honestly I'm really not so good at art, so I made my best, maybe one day I'll try to make it better. About the potatoes, I could increase the expiration time of them. About the stackable rice, I just really, really have a problem with food that make you just forget about the food system and just make ten cooked rice, that's why I made it not stackable, but some other stuff that wasn't stackable before now can stack a little, I tought it could work better than the regular diet reduced to only eat rice. I appreciate your honesty, and for real, I'll keep that in mind to make the mod better, promise =)
Grand Poo-Bah de Canadiannaise 23 Apr, 2023 @ 2:45am
I was interested in this, but I've lost interest after seeing raw potatoes expire after only 2 hours (they're pretty hardy, and can last a long time irl) and since rice isn't stackable... also I liked the original icons for rice and wheat. They're more distinguishable in vanilla.
Retro_Nitro™[TTV/YT] 8 Sep, 2022 @ 3:34am
You're welcome ^^!
Alpha Drako  [author] 7 Sep, 2022 @ 11:28pm
That's actually... Make sense! I guess I could make it in a 10 stack, also because wheat flour is used in lots of recipes, and also that would give a little more realism to the wheat. Will be on the next update, thanks!
Retro_Nitro™[TTV/YT] 7 Sep, 2022 @ 3:56pm
Thanks for the dedication either way ^^'
I'll assume it would be many stacks of wheat, since each bags come from different plants, and when you stack them together, its like a bag that you can split into multiple bags, since you don't make the bag to begin with and it just kinda materializes j^^'
Alpha Drako  [author] 6 Sep, 2022 @ 3:55pm
Hmmm, that's a good point Retro, I don't know exactly how to do that, to be honest I've struggle a lot trying to increase the slots (without success), but you're right. I'm studying a way to make that a lot more consistant because I'm working on a ammo mod for guns but with the problem of how to make the ammo icon fit the ammo quantity, you know? Like, if I put the wheat to stack, would be many sacks of wheat, or one sack with lots of wheat. I'm thinking about that trying to find a solution for that, and also working on the Worlds project. Yes, I have some problems with the order to do stuff, but I'm very excited with all the projects LOL. Thanks for the comment, I will try to fix that as soon as I can!
Retro_Nitro™[TTV/YT] 5 Sep, 2022 @ 4:05pm
Would it be possible to allow grain to be stacked inside a Crop Processor?
Its way too slow to make wheat flour one at the time for example i feel.
JK1304 5 Jul, 2022 @ 7:07am
cool, nice work !
rd 23 May, 2022 @ 8:33am
hey drako, definitely focus on yourself first. its gonna be difficult but hang tight! i wish the best for you. i can assure you that we all appreciate your mods ^^ i will definitely be looking forward to your new mod, and ive already downloaded your other mods! your project really does sound amazing to play. again, i wish the best for you, good luck, and take care! :8bitheart:
Alpha Drako  [author] 23 May, 2022 @ 7:35am
Wow, thanks a lot rd. I've been working hard these days, bills are kinda messy around here, so I'm delaying my next mod. My next project will be something that changes the way you get items and weapons along your journey. Something like "less luck, more grind, but not too much". Want to give a useful purpose for materials, blocks, and stuff like that, and make the treasures on the biomes, subbiomes and microdungeons actually make sense. That's one of the biggest change that I've ever made, and I'm scared to end up bad, but I will do it anyway, and will try to adapt along our adventures. Other than that I have a plan to make huge aditions to the magic on the game. Nothing too big and "magical" as Arcana, but something that expand the use of wands and staves to other levels of usefulness. So, if you want new stuff, take a look at my other mods, and keep it up for the next projects! Thanks again, your messages and kindness actually made a hard day be a lot better today! =)
rd 22 May, 2022 @ 10:28pm
yep yep, both mods do indeed return the crops into the early stages when harvested, perennial was just a mod i found before alpha, so i have no problem with removing perennial. love the alpha farm mod though! i really appreciate your motivation on your mods, great job!!
Alpha Drako  [author] 22 May, 2022 @ 8:07pm
Hey rd, thank you very much for the testing! Indeed, seems to be something wrong, specially because my mod uses .patch files, so it can be compatible with lots of other mods. Seems like Perennial maybe use the file as substitution to the original file, and that probably is being the problem. Actually, I don't know if I should add this on the description, but if I remember correctly the Alpha Farm already make all the crops perenial! So, I guess you will not feel any problem removing the other one. Thank you for the help with that, I was worried about this! Also thanks for the comment =)
rd 22 May, 2022 @ 11:11am
update: so, interesting; i removed the perennial crops mod, and im able to harvest and break rotten crops now. i guess something is wrong with that mod, even though the mod description says it doesnt change the crop treasure pool. its apparent that its perennial crops thats causing the crashes
rd 22 May, 2022 @ 11:09am
I just reviewed my workshop subscriptions, and there seems to be only 2 mods regarding farming: perennial crops and compact crops. i read the perennial crops mod description, and it states that it doesnt change the crop treasure pool, but i doubt its compact crops either, since it just changes the spacing between placed crops. maybe perennial crops is overlapping with alpha farm, since they both have the mechanic where plants return to the early stage when harvested. however, this doesnt explain why the game also crashes when the crops is destroyed using the MM.
Alpha Drako  [author] 22 May, 2022 @ 10:13am
Unfortunately I can't say which mod specifically is causing that, but I'm looking to understand that, if you have any guess, I will be grateful! =)
Alpha Drako  [author] 22 May, 2022 @ 10:13am
Okay, I looked into it! Seems like you have a mod that are replacing this mod files! I mean, there's lots of errors on your log saying that the object from some plants can't correctly use the images to set their stages, so I'm pretty sure that's the problem. Also, there's one file called cropharvest.treasurepools, that file is the ones who works on the pools and something like that. I realized that one of your mods are trying to change how some plants act in there, and it's not doing it because Alpha Farm actually changes a lot that part. Still that other mod is trying to replace the cropharvest.treasurepools, so, what happens is: when you try to harvest a rotten plant, the game searches for a pool of items, but the other mod erased that, and the game don't find it, that's why it crashes!
