He doesnt have the VMF anymore. You can get it by extracting it with bspsrc

Well making textures nodraw isn't the best way to optimize a map. If you type in console "sv_cheats 1" Then type "mat_wireframe 3" You can see everything that the player has loaded. And from there I've placed a lot of occluders, and skip blocks. And it's improved fps a lot. But I still have a ways to go. Especially all the entities being loaded in the downtown area.

The more obvious changes I made were experimental at the time. The majority of lag on the map came from the bad optimization, in the form of the original author not nodrawing non-visible sides. For example, large amounts of sides of brushes that aren't visible to the user at all weren't nodrawed, so the client was rendering it all. This bogged down the FPS significantly. I took a considerable amount of time going through a lot of areas in the map and looking inside walls and brushes to find them, and I have no doubt there's more.

I just tested your map out, and the only optimizations that I see is two hint blocks, one in the downtown area and one random one in the three house area by spawn. I'm just wandering how you optimized the map other than those two hint blocks?

Bacon if you want to have the .VMF, extract the GMA to a .BSP using GMAD which is in your Garry's mod bin folder. Then use vmex (Which you can download online off of "Tophatwaffles" website) to decompile the .BSP to a .VMF.

Adding more lights for day/night mod would be nice. Have you thought about making a bank, casino and cinema? These might be useful.

I'm not changing the subject, you just don't know what you're even talking about. Not only is DarkRP not a person, this isn't the default map for the gamemode. A person called Roqj made this map. Roqj is a mapmaker who pasted this map together and is a scammer, making people pay for the VMF and not giving the VMF when paid. He is also a horrible optimizer, which is why I made this modification; to make sure that everyone gets amazing FPS in situations where it was crappy before.

You would know this all if you read the description of the map, which I spent quite some time writing. Any further discussion of this and I will delete all of your comments and my replies to it.

This map is a modification of the original v2 in order to lag less. It's supposed to look the same.

The skybox matches the one that was used in the original v2, and the lighting is exactly the same so far. I aim to improve the map over time and make it less leggy, so leaving pessimist comments doesn't help at all.

Do you have any major problems with the map you'd like fixed? I aim to make my edit much better than others, by catering to the people commenting on it and optimizing the map to give the best possible FPS in all situations. Issues pop up all the time, and obviously, the original map had many, so I'll gladly fix those if you tell me the issues in a non-rude manner.

I went around the map and found alot of things that need to be fixed.

Thanks! I plan to expand it a lot more in terms of the underground section, but expect progress on it to be slow. I mostly want to focus on optimizing the map even more first.
