is it possible to remove the indicator of your location on the main map?

Yes, the locations are dynamically inferred every time the map is opened. Items that are no longer there, will not appear on the map.

This is great. I've managed to hoard every single item in the game besides 2 bugged weapons that went underground for some reason. Wish there was something like this for monsters as well...
