@[OG] Drév You could edit the PlanetGeneratorDefinitions.sbc, Pertam.sbc and Triton.sbc in the data folder. You'll need to edit the lines in the <!-- Scarce resources --> section

Is there a way to only have the right Ores on each planet, Moon=gold/silver. and not on earth ?
DirtyPixel  [author] 22 Mar, 2024 @ 1:02am
@KailIzzraham Yes, you get a 50/50 split of Zn and Mg.
No, just use _ShaleOre, if that's what you're seeing.
You will need to add _NitreOre for the production of gunpowder.
You get a small amount of Organics when you refine stone, it's used for early game explosives so it's not that essential.
I've never heard of Penumbrite, but it looks like it's connected to the modded planet Penumbra.
Good luck, let me know how you get on?
KailIzzraham 21 Mar, 2024 @ 1:02pm
@DirtyPixel Just wanted to let you know. When I tried to load Configurable Ores along with Scarce Resources it crashed the game. CO runs fine with Better Resources though. Also, when I did an ore list in CO, Shale still came up as an ore type. Do I still use Coal? And finally, an ore I never heard of came up, Penumbrite...any ideas? :)
KailIzzraham 21 Mar, 2024 @ 9:57am
@DirtyPixel Thanks for the prompt reply. You mentioned that you get Zinc from Magnesium, I am guessing that you get both resources (Zinc - Zn and Magnesium - Mg) when they are processed? Another question is Nitre. Is that a stand alone ore or is that a byproduct of processing a particular ore? Finally (hopefully the last question LOL), Organics, I am guessing that is a byproduct of something. I am hoping it is a stand alone ore/resource as I would prefer not to have it on dead planets or volcanic ones. Thanks again. :)
DirtyPixel  [author] 21 Mar, 2024 @ 3:32am
@KailIzzraham No problem, I'm happy to help.
Ice and brine are the same thing, so add Ice
Coal is a name change from Shale, so add Coal
You get Aluminium and Gallium from Bauxite, so add Bauxite
You get Zinc from Magnesium, so add Magnesium
KailIzzraham 21 Mar, 2024 @ 1:28am
@DirtyPixel Much appreciated for the quick reply. I actually have been looking at that mod. I do have a couple questions if I may about Better Resources. I was looking at the 'Ore Type' and I saw Coal, Bauxite and Ice (Brine). Are those also new ores (as they were not noted in the 'adds' portion of the description. Also in the 'adds' it mentions Shale and Gallium but I did not see those listed under 'Ore Types'. Are some of those ores obtainable only from processing, or can they be mined from veins? Sorry for all the questions, but I want to make sure I do things properly. LOL
Thanks in advance. :)
DirtyPixel  [author] 20 Mar, 2024 @ 3:33am
@KailIzzraham Sorry, but only the base planets, Planet Agaris and Medieval Planet currently. I haven't used it myself yet, but It might be worth having a look at 'Configurable ores' by Siv
KailIzzraham 19 Mar, 2024 @ 9:54pm
I apologize if this has been asked previously, but will Better Resources and Scarce Resources work on non-vanilla planets (e.g. Vagaduun, Chimera, Atlas, etc) or is the mod strictly to work with the base game planets. Thanks for any info on this. :)
DirtyPixel  [author] 25 Feb, 2024 @ 11:28am
@Thundercraft Each planet has eight 2048 x 2048 custom texture maps per planet / moon, this mod includes Alien, Earthlike, Europa, Mars, Medieval, Moon, Pertam, Agaris, Titan and Triton. I hope this info helps?
Thundercraft 22 Feb, 2024 @ 6:43pm
Both this and "Better Resources" sound very interesting. I am quite tempted to try them.

But... why is the file size of this mod so large when it functions as a patch - still requiring "Better Resources"? The description makes it sound like it just functions like the AQD - Deeper Ores mod - which is less than 1 MB in size - except tailored for the ores in "Better Resources".

Wouldn't it have been possible to completely merge this with "Better Resources" to save about half a GB of space?
DirtyPixel  [author] 20 Feb, 2024 @ 7:22am
@LM25SD Yes, I agree. You get a greater sense of achievement when you don't make it too easy for yourself.
LM25SD 16 Feb, 2024 @ 6:15am
OK! This is the whole point of your mod, so that the game does not seem simple. Realism in the game should be brought as close as possible to reality. This is the essence of our satisfaction with the gameplay! I have no problem finding ores. Your cool mod proves just that. For the hint on the Ore Detector mod, thanks anyway! I will definitely take a look.)))
DirtyPixel  [author] 16 Feb, 2024 @ 12:15am
@lenjet Sorry for the late reply. The only ores not found on planets are Platinum and Uranium.
DirtyPixel  [author] 16 Feb, 2024 @ 12:10am
@LM25SD If you really have trouble finding ores, I would recommend using something like the 'Ore Detector+ (2020)' mod
LM25SD 15 Feb, 2024 @ 7:40am
I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Super realistic! It's just great! However, at first I thought that the mod did not work. I flew for a long time with exploration, until I found the first ore deposit))) Thanks!!!
lenjet 14 Feb, 2024 @ 11:40pm
Do you have a list of what ores are available on which planets?
DirtyPixel  [author] 8 Jul, 2023 @ 1:08am
@MadHatterAk, @naylorp1, thanks for letting me know and for the positive feedback, the update was 'awaiting analysis' for about 8 hours yesterday, there were a lot of people reporting the same issue to Valve. MadHatterAk, if you right-click on the resource list on the 'Better Resources' page you can save image to Desktop.
naylorp1 7 Jul, 2023 @ 1:30pm
Just want to agree with below, the Steam page for Better Resources is hidden and not available. Hope all is okay as I love this mod
MadHatterAk 7 Jul, 2023 @ 1:26pm
First, let me say that you've done a wonderful job with Better Resources, and this one. Keep up the good work.

Secondly, my memory is never all that great so, I keep going to Better Resources page to find out what makes what, in what. This brings me to my point. The Better Resources Page keeps showing as hidden, or I don't have permission. Thought I would let you know.

@[AiR] Le0_gAiR Correct -
Scarce Resources
Better Resources
[AiR] Le0_gAiR 7 May, 2023 @ 4:26pm
"Please make sure this module has a higher priority than Better Resources during loading." meaning it needs to be above Better Resources in the modlist right? :)
DirtyPixel  [author] 30 Apr, 2023 @ 1:50am
@Romulous Could you make sure all the required materials are in the basic assemblers inventory
Romulous 28 Apr, 2023 @ 8:03pm
Since I'm using this mod, I'll put the bug here even though it could be a Better Resources issue. The Basic Assembler will not produce Silicon Tyres even though the materials are present.
Noobmaster21 24 Apr, 2023 @ 9:07am
I see and i will do that and thanks again.
DirtyPixel  [author] 24 Apr, 2023 @ 8:33am
Planet Agaris and Medieval planet material maps are included in this mod, so it might be worth removing the 'Planet Agaris' and 'Medieval' folders within the PlanetDataFiles folder
Noobmaster21 24 Apr, 2023 @ 8:11am
Thanks! I don't have Agaris or medieval planet and the game is only complaining about this one due to me having a local version which the game won't allow on mp servers.
DirtyPixel  [author] 24 Apr, 2023 @ 7:56am
@noobmaster21 Yes, that would be fine, but please don't upload a modified version of 'Better Resources'. If you intend to include planet Agaris and Medieval planet, you'll need to get permission from the authors of these mods too.
Noobmaster21 23 Apr, 2023 @ 11:58am
Hello, would you be okay with me uploading the modified version i made of this mod for use on a server with some friends? I'm not entirely sure how that works, but it seems it's possible to make it unlisted if that matters.
SMBULL 7 Apr, 2023 @ 8:58am
Hi @razarunz - did you get the permission from DirtyPixel to make the edit of your mod?
razarunz 20 Mar, 2023 @ 2:55pm
@GDI-BOSS, 'Scarce Resources' isnt compatible with 'Better Resources', as it overwrites ore locations and does not include the new resources. I've actually made an edit that should have what you're looking for. You can find it on my profile. Only downside is it is not compatible with 'scarce resources (for better resources)' addon, so the ore depth/ores per deposit/distance between deposits will be the same as the base 'Better Resources' mod includes. If DirtyPixel allows, i could also make an edit that has the same deposit mapping as the 'scarce resources (for better resources)' addon.
GDI-BOSS 20 Mar, 2023 @ 8:57am
put in this order:
scarce resources
scarce resources addon
better resources

when start new game, dont see any of copper, neeed put in other order list or need explore more??im on earth
DirtyPixel  [author] 2 Mar, 2023 @ 11:59pm
@Omniarcher
Scarce Resources
Better Resources
Planet Agaris
Omniarcher 2 Mar, 2023 @ 12:27pm
if used with Agaris what is the load order with the planet?
GodShake 19 Feb, 2023 @ 1:42am
is possible to play with a no asteroid mod? or some resources are only available on space?
Nuka 17 Jan, 2023 @ 8:46am
@dirtypixel yup halfway through ended up downloading it and nothing. I’ll spend a bit more time today looking around to see if it eventually turns up. Moon just gets a little hard to navigate with a wheeled vehicle. I’ll try and get more creative. Thanks!
DirtyPixel  [author] 17 Jan, 2023 @ 12:33am
@NukaHunna Copper is RGB 233,144,3 and Bauxite is RGB 161,161,191 on the ore map image I have uploaded, you may be able to figure out where the others are in relation to the ores you've already found. Have you got the ore detector set to max? Maybe try a longer range ore detector mod like 'Ore Detector+ (2020)'
Nuka 16 Jan, 2023 @ 11:01pm
Love the mod but is there something to show where ores tend to spawn? I've started a moon spawn today and can not find Bauxite/copper for the life of me. Spent about 6 hours today looking. I made a test save previous before this one and ran across a deposit but didn't think anything of it. Wish I would have stuck with that save lol
DirtyPixel  [author] 15 Jan, 2023 @ 6:24am
I'll have a go at finding Uranium on the alien planet, you can only get Platinum in space.
REV4666 13 Jan, 2023 @ 10:49am
well, I went around the alien planet 2 or 3 times now and did not find any platinum or uranium,
I did the same for mars and titan with no luck.

I am now trading with NPC station for some ore since space mining is a bit risky since I have the lowest density of asteroids and MES Space wave spawner. I might have to try it if I want to build some warheads in quantity.
DirtyPixel  [author] 12 Jan, 2023 @ 12:07am
@REV4666 Uranium can be found on planets, but it's very rare and very deep. I usually mine Platinum and Uranium from asteroids.
REV4666 11 Jan, 2023 @ 6:44am
has anyone found uranium on any planet yet with this mod? I have tried multiple planets and moons with the 1500m detector and no luck
DirtyPixel  [author] 3 Jan, 2023 @ 7:07am
@Uzar, I'm glad you're having more success with Earth-like planet.
Uzar 2 Jan, 2023 @ 10:57pm
Ok, so the issue seems to be with the default Medieval map. I have now played on Earthlike and there have been no issues with elusive voxels / ores.
May try Agaris in the future but will first stick with the vanilla planets.
DirtyPixel  [author] 9 Dec, 2022 @ 7:48am
@Uzar I just ran a test and didn't have an issue with Silver. Silver starts at 42m deep, if you find it nearer the surface it's not an ore vein generated by Scarce Resources. I'm not sure a save would help, because this mod only modifies the material map textures of Medieval planet
Uzar 9 Dec, 2022 @ 6:07am
Not sure how but I seriously manage to break your mod... This time, I manage to not get silver when mining the silver ore vein. It only spawns stone.

As usual, no other mods than the ones below:

Also, happy to share the save if it helps.
Uzar 9 Dec, 2022 @ 3:01am
Ok, got it. Thanks!
DirtyPixel  [author] 9 Dec, 2022 @ 1:56am
@Uzar yes, the mixed ores by the roadside are coded by the author, but they only consist of the default SE ores
Uzar 9 Dec, 2022 @ 1:28am
@Dirty I did some more testing and found that there still are locations where there is more than one ore (e.g., Cobalt, Magnesium and Iron). Happy to share the save if that helps you debug - as I understand it, this shouldn't occur.
Uzar 8 Dec, 2022 @ 9:54pm
@Dirty, your update fixed the issue I had. There were no other mods interfering since I had a separate save file where I only used the three mods (+mod list) to make sure it wasn't any interference.
Thank you very much for your very quick response!
