Same issue as Halalabubu here. Unable to make use of the front lasers anymore.

Whenever I build the large laser the game crashes and throws this error
"System.InvalidOperationException: No component named 'Turret' in part 'skillt.big_mining_laser'"
(game version is 23.0f)

Does this mod change how the crew collects items? Because my crew doesn't. I am trying to find the responsible mod, because although the stuff just teleporting in my ship is nice and all, it is a bit too cheaty for me.

@SkillT: I didn't have yet time to test this so I didn't notice that. I subbed to your mod but my game started to crash probably due to some other mod not being updated and wasn't feeling to get rid of any just yet. But thanks for your suggestion. I'm sure to try it after my mod issues are sorted.

@Toj Karin there are random asteroids in the game already you can look into my mod and find it in the mod rules doc. copy that and make your own mod! (you have permission to use everything i did except the big mining laser!) :) then you can make the number of random asteroids in the system very high! :D however i dont want that in my mod sorry for that! :/

Decreased the HP of some nodes a bit (@idea man that one goes on you) and made asteroids in generell less likely to be small. they are now most likely at least medium size. to keep balance i made rare asteroid (gold ect.) slightly less common. (1/20 instead of 1/16)

Continuing too long comment.

I have no knowledge on how the game would handle such large amount of objects. I believe it stops calculating physics for objects outside of the camera, but I have no concrete proof of it. I know it does that for particle effects and I believe a reasonable developer would have made the same for physical objects too.

You asked for ideas for those asteroid fields. I got one. Vanilla asteroid fields are very small. With fast enough ship you stream through them and if you blink at the wrong moment, you've gone past without noticing a single asteroid. I'd like to see HUGE asteroid fields. Maybe even so that the whole system is sparsely covered in asteroids. To balance it out and to make it still fun to fly in, you could make them small enough to not have a big impact on ships hitting them, so that the asteroid is more likely to fly away than just to stop the ship in its tracks, and so that the large fields have much less resourceful rocks so that you'd still have to find them among the rubble.

@The Jar it has default the (low) default priority. ill make sure its higher per default :) one thing i noticed is that the crew does not instantly change what they are doing after changeing crew settings. also distance of beds to working place metters i think. Try and stop mining for a few seconds after setting priority higher and try again. in my save they work just fine. (other ppl if you have the same problem please tell me maybe i have to look deeper into it)

ngl i dont know if its me that changed something or if you just messed up the ai but even when i set the priority to man the front laser to 10 my crew still get up out of the seat to bring in batteries these mf are so reluctant to actualy use the laser they will still not do it even when i tell them they gotta stay inside even if their life depends on it

这是一个小的改革,以改善采矿经验。

特征:

-新的Tier 2前端采矿激光器!(如果你只需要激光,也有一个独立的)

-大约66%的小行星数量,但+300%的小行星更好

-更高值的节点需要更长的时间来挖掘(女巫感觉出奇的好,因为你知道如果它需要更长的一秒,你就会命中一个大节点)

-其他一些小调整

@SkillT the idea behind the slower mining for higher yield is pretty good but it mostly feels like the mining drills just stop doing anything while its mining.

maybe have it that the ore drop during the mine or when the ore finally pops have the drops spread out more

but either way I would say increase the yield or asteroid density a bit as the sparsity of asteroids makes it time consuming and annoying to go mining

can we get a version that dosn't reduce the quantity of astroids by 66%
or at least reduce it by a lesser amount

After playing with my friends for many hours I fixed a lot of (broken) stuff ^^ its better now plz tell me if you find something thats wrong
