I'm assuming since this is adding a "race" via xenotypes and biotech genes, it works fine with CE.
Does this mod include any apparel or weapons like the other avali mods?

Are skin color genes not supposed to work with them (by that I mean even if I add a skin color gene the actual pawns color is unchanged/random)

Also also do not change the temps to be lore accurate apparently, you will die of heatstroke on ice sheet.

Also made a mini-patch-but-not-really to remove nudity and slept in cold moodlets, I know those were asked about before and can do a walkthrough on that too, it's a pretty basic edit that uses RIMMQOL (Which is an amazing mod btw)

Was messing around and found out how to add masking really easily, the depreciated mod that this uses textures from already has masks, so if you add those in and disable SkinIsHairColor you can use both body colors (I do believe this requires HAR for the second skin color). If anyone wants help doing so I'd be happy to be of assistance!

My friend has had several Avali raids where they basically died of heatstroke before even nearing his base for charging into the map when the biome was a temperate forest which is mildly amusing.

It's even better when they decide not to avoid deserts. I keep finding them spawn as faction bases in, deserts.
A war of attrition they will lose in moments.

I'm going to change the temp modifiers to be accurate to avali lore and then suffer immensely as my pawns get heatstroke at -20 degrees.

I would - at a glance - consider replacing the Tempermental trait with "Pack Sapient" or something along those lines, and instead of raising the chance for social fights, it rapidly decreases their mood if they're not nearby another pawn with Pack Sapient - Avali are incredibly social, vitally so - so making the ideal way to deal with that gene seperating them makes very little sense

I think "near-sighted" should be a hediff on eyes, not global offset, so installing bionic eyes would fix their sight.

If "featherskin" described as pretty, it could have beauty bonus (and maybe cold resitance and nudity suppression like furskin).

keen hearing can also have effect of suppressing darkness mood debuff (for halfblood or when used for other xenotypes)

Avali having "poor animals" would be inaccurate to their lore. Though they are omnivorous, they are mostly hunters and piss-poor at agriculture due to the nature of their homeworld environment (Frozen ice sheets and shifting glaciers don't make for good farmland). So instead they should be "good animals" but "poor plants".

@QuasiKiller RS Какая Super late reply but yeah, they did originate in spore initially. But it was starbound that actually made them as popular as they are currently so it was kind of a dual effort.

Too this day theres a still working triage mod that continues the original I use whenever I play starbound for those curious where the fleshed out lore originated from

Hey, as a heads up if you want to give them purple blood there's a blood color gene mod on the workshop you can add compat for similar to what you did with the egglaying gene with alpha genes

Adding purple blood from the lite version will allow players to use either and still have the blood color in my experience

Avali's genes? This is unusual, although, according to theory, the avali and human genes are incompatible, but okay. I don't want to go into genetics, so it's better to let someone else do it. Although the textures are very outdated. good luck in improving the mod!

That's an interesting point, thank you. While I myself are satisfied with current textures, and (in my opinion) they fit quite well with overall Rimworld style. I was planning to remake these textures in the future, and I'd like to stay as close to vanilla artstyle as possible.

I like it! I'll be giving the mod a try as it looks to be quite interesting.

Though one thing that has always bothered me is how the graphics don't really fit into the rimworld art style? That might just be a me thing.

Don't get me wrong I still enjoy it, but for example, I do know that R-MK had some avali textures in their Anthro race mod, perhaps if there's plans for a future overhaul I reckon that would be a place to start.
