This is not playing nice with another wonderful mod.
I was wondering if you could put something in to be compatible with it?
Perhaps even set it up so that the Fire Extinguisher added by the mod is also Essential?
The mod is Corridor Fire Extinguisher.

Hello, since the last update of the game, the mod no longer works, it crashes the game when loading. Could you repair it?

Yeah, since I made this mod.. I've been unable to play without it!

It also highlighted to me just how often you ~need~ to constantly use these pieces and shift/move them whilst designing/bluprint-ing from other menu's. It's nice because it doubles as both a QoL feature AND a gentle reminder that your ship requires these parts periodically for use/access/coverage.

This is now causing a crash on cosmoteer start for me. I'm surprised so it's taken we a while to isolate it. Just enabling this one mod is enough to crash for me (I normally run about ten mods)

It should already work with that, but I'm not going to do any update until 0.24 is out of beta and becomes the stable branch

Yeah, I need those to come to the stable branch before I can mod them.. I guess its just a case of the EditorGroup changing to be EditorGroup**s** .... but without seeing the new code on stable I can't update .. please be patient during the transition :)

Yes. By "latest update", this includes beta tests. I understand things can be funcky in the branch but of the 30 some mods I have, this is the only one causing issues. The patch notes did mention some modding related changes.

You say the "latest release" ? Do you mean the 0.24.0 RC that is on the beta servers right now?

Oddly enough, this is Tech21 not Tech20. But I have many mods installed and the latest update caused crashes, I disabled mods progressively and isolated this as causing the crash.

Yeah.. I thought for a long time over his question too... I don't think putting cockpits/bridges etc in every category is needed, they are not something "easily forgettable"

Thanks for the report and nice catch!

I've uploaded a fix that moves the job to the "general crew" jobs. It should still require Extinguishers as a resource for putting out fires

ALERT! The Fire Extinguisher has also disappeared from the Defense category in the crew roles.

I think I could, but I don't think those are essential .. well.. I think it is easy to remember where they are and always find them when designing a ship.
