Great map, dunno why the guy below is such a dick but you or anyone else could optimize this map easily by embedding func_occluder/occluder brushes in the prop buildings so players aren't rendering what they can't see.

Look into ' rp_2300_vfinal ' if you want a large fallout map. I cant get in touch with this map's maker to help him fix it. And i wont just take other people's stuff and use it without their say.

rp_2300_vfinal is very highly optimized, made to run 128 players, and consists of 6 technical map layers. is noded and naved.

Hey Malum, was wondering if you'd be down to sharing the vmf of the map. I wouldn't be sharing anything without your consent and simply needed the environment edited for a test. Totally understand if not.

Oof, that's weird, I can usually just delete the in-map one with VIDE and my nodegraph editor one will work

I had tried to do that previously with VIDE, and it also seemed to prefer to wipe the packed ain file over using it. I ended up doing it mostly in Hammer now with a few scripts and programs made for previous maps.

The reason why the nodegraph gets replaced by a 1kb file is because your map has an empty one pre-packaged inside of it. You have to delete the one from the map first before using any others.

I haven't checked your latest update yet but, in case you didnt figure it out this is the solution ^

O I've done that, and I have the completed .ain and it functions on my personal setup, but anyone who downloads through the workshop seems to have their setups replace it with a empty .ain once they load in.

Hmm.. Make sure you disable the workshop version and try typing ai_norebuildgraph 1 in console before loading the map, or add that to your autoexec.cfg

I've been attempting to fix the AI Nodes for quite some time now, any time I package them into the workshop, they are overwritten when loading the map. Goes from a 480 KB file to 1 KB

i have problem with the textures. I'm writing about it, because when I played on this map last time, I didn't have any deficiencies and when I recently loaded this map I don't have to explain what happened. Errors and pink black texture

The map was originally going to use a server side sound system, so the lack of soundscapes was intentional, I'm still making a few notes but I don't want to keep throwing rapid fire small updates which I inevitably need to fix. I figured I'll be spending time working on it and maybe make that update more substantial.

You did a great job on the map so far!
The only recommendation I would make is at some point in the future adding soundscapes to the map since it feels pretty empty without any sounds, if you need help on making them feel free to add me on Steam.

So I figure next steps will be some cleanup and a overhaul of the lighting, I'm noticing a lot of issues regarding the info lights.

Alright, I figured out why the node-graph was not loading properly. So it was being overwritten by one that was packaged into the .bsp, went in and pulled that one out and inserted a proper node-graph in its place, tested it and it loads properly on my end though I am working on the source files so let me know how things go.

AI nodes still don't work sadly... The ones generated by the Node Tool don't work for this map, you might have to place them in Hammer...

Also some of the props have the wrong $surfaceprop
(Some of them are metal despite being composed almost entirely of concrete)
And the sky is pretty low, it'd be nice to be able to fly an LFS Vertibird around.

This map is really cool! I'm so glad it has a navmesh, wish it had AI nodes as well, but overall great work! The lighting is so good, it's really atmospheric!~
