I love the mod, adds a sense of awe to critical explosions that better conveys what is happening. It looks very cool at night too!

@Diremerc - This mod is meant to have a focus on visuals.

I know what you mean by damage, however, and, no, you are not crazy - I have been told by at least one other person that critical explosions used to be very powerful.

Fortunately for you, I had come up with this idea on my own, and, after being encouraged by that individual's remarks, I decided to make my own mod that makes critical explosions highly-damaging. See the mod here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2953761510

The mod should be loaded above this one. As long as that is done, you will have the enhanced visuals, along with increased damage. Be warned, though: the lancemate A.I. may have trouble getting out of the way as it was broken as of the March patch; leading them to be highly-damaged or destroyed somewhat often. I have not been able to test it since the DLC 5 patch launched as I have been preoccupied with other things.

Still a bit underwhelming to me. I am crazy or in previous games when mech went critical it was a nuclear explosion that had the ability to take out any mechs unfortunate enough to be anywhere near it? I think even in the MW5 trailer there was a mech that went critical and took out and atlas with it's explosion. I understand there are limitations in the game so this is likely the best we can get but I'd love to see a proper huge that explosion that kills anyone caught in the AOE.

That is a/the "Mod Loader" mod, which can help you do it via a GUI. The higher something is on this, the greater its priority (it will overwrite things listed below it).

I can't remember exactly how the numbers works, so that is what I have to offer as an option for now. I hope that helps!

Yes. Im using WarFX with this mod right now. Just have this mod on a higher load order, just in case, if you're using a mod manager.

@Narthan - That audio idea would be very cool! Unfortunately, I don't know how to do audio (...yet, possibly).

As for explosion scale, I have thought about that! Unfortunately, again, there is no scaling parameter that I'm aware of that I can take advantage of. I may look into it, as I wanted to implement this idea as well.

ohhh also (sorry for the many coments adhd is bad) would it be possible to take the turbine overload sound from vtols right before they explode and add/blend (idk) it into the reactor explosion sound like we hear the turbines reaching critical levels and then boom or something like that?

would it be possible to scale the explosions based on mech size/tonnage? locust/spiders/commandos have such huge explosions when they go crit lol

noice, this overrides WarFX weird orange mushroom cloud when a crit-explosion occurs. Always found it goofy. The added effects really makes the crit explosion much more spectacular.
Idea: add in electrical discharge, similar to PPC impact or generator explosions, to the Crit-explosions.

@Stevenf625 - It is not nearly as large; is not as bright/blinding; and uses no custom graphics (for the "mushroom cloud", for instance).

I can't remember in great detail any other differences, but those are the most notable. I hope you enjoy it.

I could almost never tell when I sent an enemy into Critical. This sounds like a pretty good fix, can't wait to try it!
