Report a translation problem
Purging the configs would defuct the viper class and related mechanics, but the ability itself, the sidewinder is hidden in a script file, so it should work...well in theory, worth trying out.
Sadly I wasn't using the hunting shotgun, I was using a mag tier shotgun
So far, I tried
testing with different secondaries, empty, pistol and shield
respeccing my existing vanguard via command, didn't work.
in case my vanguard was bugged, created a new vanguard via commands, didn't work.
Unsubing and resubbing, sadly it didn't fix it.
I created a new save, promoted someone via commands, still not enough ammo.
in case my skill was bugged, I promoted my frost adder, and oddly enough it works.
in case its related to human shotgun classes, edited another class to have the skill and for some reason the guy can use it.
So with my current line of testing, it seems to be a very specific clash or unknown bug (so far only affecting me) relating to Vanguards.
hopefully this helps find whatever's causing this weird bug. If no one else has this issue and it can't be replicated, then I'll chalk it up to an oddly specific mod clash or a curse.
Hmm, that is odd, given i saw people using it just fine on Discord (they were like lookee here how Vanguard can one tap 8 people in pod from concealment) and its an already existing perk in Mod Jam (Frost Adders can get it too) so you not being able to use it is quite sus

I use this mod. And will ask the author to include the new icon of your class. Or, you could ask him yourself;)
Done, changed to tank icon instead, given Vanguards are still on the more durable side of workshop classes.
Hardest part was finding an icon that wasnt used yet, given he has 4 pages of classes and all the most fitting icons are already used up. Almost contemplated starting creating my own class icons...
Do you know that your class has the same icon as Marauder class by Pet Rock?

Uh... even if i dont speak Spanish, i am pretty sure you are asking about the viper overhaul mod, it is essential unless you dont want the most interesting perk on the whole class (Sidewinder) and like gimp more perks like blitz kick which is usable after sidewinder activates on enemy turn.
I kinda written MJ in the mods name for a reason, while not being official part of the collection, i kinda expected that people who play Mod Jam will just download and play, no further mods required given they have everything already.
If you want to get the most up to date version of Vanguard without having to launch a new game, just open the console and type this in:
RespecSelectedSoldier
And boom, your tree should update itself
Without Vipers overhaul, Vanguards will lose the Sidewinder perk, which is a big part of this class, which would also make perks like Blitz Kick useless (Given Blitz Kick requires movement only point, which is supplied by the Sidewinder activating, Implacable would be the only other source).
I guess it wouldnt make them unplayable, but alot more fragile than intended for being a close range class locked in the frontline where they will get shot at often.
You are right, i was confused for a moment when i saw your post, but its true. Mod Jam itself contains the same changes as the Lagos Shield Rework of turning shields in to Guard machine rather than one for all Templar-esque shield. So i removed it from the requirements
