(LWOTC) Vanguard Class

Use my new version, this one is redundant now

• Vanguards are short range soldiers, they can only equip the shotgun. They are also semi-heroic (Similar to Iridars Stormriders), so you cannot train them in the GTS, you can only get them as rewards or as random promotions (Or if you use Commanders Choice, then thats another way to get them). This is done to make them feel slightly more special and also for balance reasons.
  
• Vanguards are not tanks as their primary purpose, but they can serve as one when needed. They can take empty secondary weapon slot to get 15% mobility boost. A shield, which would make them unflankable and provide them with superb defences, or a pistol.
  
• Vanguards do not get pistol slot like most LWOTC classes, they can equip it as secondary weapon instead. This was done for both balancing reasons and...animation reasons too.
  
• Vanguards gain defence and ablatative health as they rank up. Meaning they will be harder to hit and will be able to keep up slightly with Advent and their spiralling aim growth as end game looms. Them gaining defence is done to really hammer down that Vanguards are front line troops, not tanks. Bonus defence caps at 5.

Sidewinder - The main ability of Vanguards, every 3 turns they will turn a hit in to a miss and gain a movement only point as interupt action. They can move away, towards enemies, but perks like Blitz Kick (From Stormriders) can be used too.
Slugshot - The only long range attack of Vanguards outside of using pistols.
Infighter - Vanguards are trained to excell at close range combat, hence they gain 25 dodge against enemies within 4 tiles.

LCPL - Light Em Up, Guard, Blitz Kick
CPL - Center Mass, Grazing Fire, Zone of Control
SGT - Burial Shot, Engarde, Focus
SSGT - Run and Gun, Riposte, Close Quater Specialist
TSGT - Chain Shot, Hit and Run, Cool Under Pressure
GSGT- Lock and Load, Fastball, Implacable
MSGT - Unload, Super Shredder Shot, Shotgun Wedding.

• Sidewinder lets them absorb hits, even the hardest hitting enemies will whiff their attacks against Vanguards.
  
• Defence growth lets them be sllightly more aggresive, also because they gain ablatative health instead of body health, this means even hits that are outside of Sidewinder window might get absorbed and not result in an injury. Though be wary this bonus HP is one of a time deal - it will not get back if they lose it, even on other missions.
  
• Shotgun build gives them brutal short range firepower, at Master Sergeant they can learn to deal with enemies like Sectopods, Gatekeepers or Custodians with their Unload perk.
  
• Shield build has additional damage mitigation abilities like Riposte (Which can work as discount combatitive)

• Sidewinder has a cooldown and only helps you against the first hit, meaning Vanguards are vulnerable to enemies with multi-attacks, like Custodians, Duelists, Elite Mutons, Elite Gunners and they are still as vulnerable towards psionic attacks like mind spin.
  
• Compared to LWOTC Assaults, they lack Killer Instincts, rapid fire and close encounters, so they will not be able to deal as massive damage as them. Chain shot has cooldown and Unload comes very late.
  
• Compared to Hoplites or Stormriders, Vanguards lack most tank perks and no melee damage perks. Meaning their shield is almost entirely defensive.
  
• Vanguards do not gain HP on level up and their will growth is also nonexistant. This means armor, vests and PCS are important to safeguard Vanguards if their defences are to be breached. The extra ablative HP also will not grow back between missions so its only a bonus till they lose it, but in a pinch would still make a difference between an injury or no injury in that one mission where they got shot.
  
• Shield makes them unflankable, but curbs their mobility alot.
