Which option disables the bounty hunters coming for me and does disabling them removes my bounty?
Example would be that I have a freighter with a bounty. They spawn in a good distance away, and pass by a smaller ship that does NOT have a bounty, but IS a member of my faction.
They'll engage, and completely destroy that target, and any others between them and the bounty target.
If they're going to be attacking ships at random, rather then their intended bounty, then they might as well just call themselves raiders instead of bounty hunters, right?
I just uhm...'acquired' a battleship that had a bounty, and now the buddies of the faction that I stole from (I won't say who! :P ) is now paying for a headhunter for ME.
I've installed the recommended MOD UI from Nexus, which includes options for turning off Player targeting Headhunters as well as letting you board Headhunters.
I'll play around with UI options to figure out what works best, I appreciate the options!
My experience with the NPC Headhunters has not been smooth.
Defending myself against them triggers police alerts, even when waiting for them to attack me first (unless I'm in an unclaimed system, but that's a rare encounter with headhunters for me).
Additionally, shooting off large ship components from the headhunters triggers (small) rep loss.
Finally, headhunter ships will despawn mid-fight at times.
I'm not a fan of being unable to board these headhunter ships either. I can understand a "balance" reason for making every boarding attempt against large headhunters "impossible", but considering this with the points above the experience has not been fun.
So. In my experience. To get it to work with Kuda you gotta, disable Kuda, enable HH, save. Then you load the game with HH, save (normal save). Enable KUDA, load the game. And then it should work. But if you star the game with both KUDA and HH for some reason not all features of hte mod will work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯]
This worked for me, as well.
It spams the debug log with an error after the save is loaded.
[] 101187.18 Error in MD cue md.HeadHunterMD.MapTagger<inst:1f23c8>: Can not use add_holomap_text while the map is not open.

and sometimes

For example I'm aligned with a faction and don't want to attack these even when they have a bounty and I don't need to hear all the time "ship in sensor-range" haha ^^
Do I need to get last hit?
But I only got 68k afterwards...
Is there a possible conflict with better kill credit, or some other mod?
Did I need to take a mission before killing it?
After uninstalling essentially all mods but this one and testing, it works fine!
I seem to be able to see my own ships bounty on the map (in parenthises under my ship) but I am not seeing any other ship with that on the map even after ~8 hours of play time.
Notably, the head-hunters themselves seem to be working, as several have been sent after me. However, I haven't yet noticed being paid an extra bounty from combat yet.
Wondering if this is expected because I do not have the Mod API? I also checked the log debug.txt and when I search for "HeadHunter" the only error I see is that it cannot find the Mod API in the beginning of the log.
