@seanmng I should also note, this mod also re-enables building a Dyson Sphere the old way from scratch even if you have the machine age DLC, in case you are at your Swarm limit and don't want to upgrade any of your existing ones (for instance, if they were all built for science or other resources instead of energy), but it is a bit slower and more expensive overall so starting with Swarms is still preferable when you can.

@seanmng I haven't modded out the Dyson Swarm or Arc Furnace caps in this mod. But yes, as you say, upgrading a Swarm to a Sphere should free up that slot so that more Swarms can be built, and you could potentially do that with all of them with this mod, instead of just one.

@suzarr - Is there a way around the Dyson Swarm build cap, or do they just need to be upgraded to first stage of sphere to have more than the vanilla limit?

@Mecka Tinker, All of my files say 3.12.4, Steam probably just hasn't pushed the update to you yet. To force it, you can either briefly unsubscribe and resubscribe (faster for just one mod), or have Steam run "verify integrity of game files" and it will check and update all of your mods as well as the game itself.

Although the mod is declared to be updated, the "descriptor file" claims this mod is intended for 3.10.4 currently. I assume the mods features are updated but that particular file isn't and confuses people into thinking it actually isn't updated.

Gigastructural Engineering already has its own version of this. When its mod options screen pops up on day two, go to the megastructure selection page and set either unlimited or tech-based megastructure limit.

compatible with gigastructural engineering? i dont like in gigastructural engineering i can build only one same megastructure at once

@Kakutani's Fixed Point The issue of repairing orbital rings counting towards your megastructure count is vanilla behavior - though I agree that's a stupid behavior, my mod makes no change in this regard. Unless that's something that they changed for the better in 3.11, in which case yes, this mod may be making it follow 3.10.4 logic, as it has not yet been updated.

Update: When I reloaded the game, the orbital rings were able to repair themselves, and the duplicates disappeared when a single ring repaired. It still counted towards the megastructure cap when it shouldn't have.

So if this bug happens to anyone else (or perhaps before you start any orbital ring repair, if you want to really play it safe), just restart Stellaris.

There is an issue with repairing orbital rings after they get destroyed. The repair counts towards your megastructure construction cap (even though building a new ring from scratch does not), and instead of successfully creating a new ring, it spawns a second ruined orbital ring around the same planet.

I haven't seen the issue with ruined orbital rings that spawn on the map, only with rings that got destroyed by the Contingency that i subsequently recaptured. My most recent game involved other mods, but I am 90% sure I saw this error before in an older game without other relevant mods.

@卡尔文迪斯梅特 The latest dev diary was an announcement for 3.12 and made no mention of a 3.11.3 in the works, so I might be updating all my mods very soon. Obviously I want the mods to be updated as soon as possible for people to use, but I also don't want the work to undone by another patch too quickly. My goal is to wait until the official version is relatively stable first. I'll probably wait for next week's dev diary to confirm.

I really like this mod because it doesn't remove the simultaneous construction limit like others do and isn't overpowered, it just remove the builded limit per megastructure and that's all I want, so thank you. Do you plan on updating to 3.9 ?

It depends. Almost all the changes here would be no problem adding to a current save, except the one to gateways. If you (or any other empire) have a "gateway site" built, but not finished upgrading to a full gateway in your current save, the mod removes these entities so this may cause some unpredictable behavior, likely even a potential crash. It will be tough to know if an AI has any of these though, so I would recommend giving it a try and seeing if it remains stable. (Note to self: fix that for compatibility in the next update, that'll be easy to do)

I hate to ask dumb questions, but I have read the description several times and can't see the answer. Is this mod save game compatible as long as you are using 3.8.4 or does it require a new save? I am really excited for some of these changes and would love to implement them into my current save game!
