@Mismagius
Ludeon previously had a bug in the gene resource target which I compensated for in the framework. Since Ludeon fixed that bug in the 1.6 release my code ended up overcompensating.

I believe it should be fixed now though.
Mismagius 14 Jul @ 2:27pm
i'm having an issue where the amount of slime you select goes off the GUI causing my slime to constantly want to eat and this happens every time i reload the save
Cibo 14 Jul @ 1:12am
ive downloaded the 1.6, and oddesy dlc, but now my slimes dont have the slime selector for how much reserve slime they posses, so now my colonists just eat my colony out of house and home, making it unsustainable to have a slime colony, im not sure whats going on,
RedMattis  [author] 1 Jun @ 11:52pm
@shidotoku
The Slime Core is basically a brain that has been relocated to the torso. Probably you're being a bit unlucky. It has a similar chance to being hit as a liver.

I could probably lower the odds for it to be hit though.

@Kovn
The Framework does support colonists with animal-like bodies such as that, but I've not actually set up any lil' sphere type slimes yet.

@tkgamer77
They should have a hunger rate of x125%, unless you have mods changing gene costs around. You don't need to keep them at a large size though, setting the target slime size to, like, 75% or something will make them eat a lot less.

@Chimbo
I'll look over the acid damage later, or maybe just raise the pawn cost of the slime raiders.

I would suggest trying to use fire against the slimes if they are proving troublesome. Half of them fear fire, and almost all of them are extremely vulnerable to any sort of fire damage.

I've made a custom slime xenotype with genes from this mod, but it keeps getting randomly one-shot to the slime core in melee, armor or no armor. Just now an arctic coyote insta-gibbed my 20 melee slime colonist on the first hit. Am I doing something wrong or missing something, or is this an intended drawback to slime colonists?

anyone know if there's a way to make the slimes look like an OG slime (like the lil sphere)?? I'd love to be able to have a slime blob form and a slime humanoid form, just not sure how to go about it or if possible...
tkgamer77 7 Apr @ 10:13am
Loving this mod, I just wish my toxic slime colony wasn't so voracious. It's everything they can do just to eat and sleep, lol.
Chimbo 6 Apr @ 2:21pm
Is there any way you could add a config file that lets us tone down the severity of acid? I'm so tired of the myriad of acid-based xenotypes in your mods (which I am otherwise very happy with) being by far the most dangerous enemy on the map at any given time. Even a centipede cannot flip a coin to instantly kill a colonist the moment they enter sight range, yet anything with acid leap or spit essentially guarantees death or dismemberment in an enclosed space, no matter how pathetic the enemy pawn might be otherwise.

I suppose this would be better placed on the main Big & Small file but this popped up first, so whatever. Thanks.
RedMattis  [author] 10 Mar @ 1:38pm
The slimes randomly shrinking down (yes turns out it was a Ludeon bug) should be fixed now.

Verify files, or resubscribe to the B&S Framework.
RedMattis  [author] 8 Mar @ 1:27pm
@GalacticSeal
Ludeon messed up their UI Resource Bar settings when they released 1.5 and they do some really hacked workarounds that can result in it getting set to weird values when being set up.

I think I got it reliably avoiding that reset-issue in the latest few versions, so you could try verifying files if you still get the issue and see if that helps.

If not it might be a mod interaction. Or I've just not managed to reproduce the issue.
GalacticSeal 6 Mar @ 5:55pm
Seems to have an issue where the settings for slime level on your pawns keeps randomly being reset to a random value whenever you reload the game; gets pretty annoying trying to scale back up the slime pawn because they randomly decided to become small again on their own (also seems to have an issue where the slime level doesn't properly update the character size). Other than that issue, great mod!
Syilumi lunari 6 Mar @ 11:43am
ima give up on rimworld mods are broken and people are mean (not you redmattis just someone else that was abhorrent to me because their mod was broken)
Syilumi lunari 6 Mar @ 11:37am
still kinda broken, i can get it to work for a single pawn by deleting the size hedif but it causes the pawn to jitter like hecc
Syilumi lunari 6 Mar @ 11:14am
ima try to use slimes with HAR's again
Ghevd 4 Mar @ 12:27pm
Awesome thanks. I was just going to try this. Think I'll pair it with the ultra fast aging gene from the xenos as well.
RedMattis  [author] 4 Mar @ 12:03pm
@Ghevd
There is a "Early Maturity" gene in the mod which you could add to a xenotype if you're doing a custom start. It should make the baby stuff faster.

I do believe I patched the Very Early Maturity to work with the slimes' proliferation ability as well.
Ghevd 3 Mar @ 2:59pm
I am trying to play a tribal run with slimes only. I opted out of bringing an elixir slime with me in favor of a second pink slime. It is fun trying to mix and match them to see what gene combos I can make. One slime is even having a baby with an animakin. Can't wait to see how that turns out.

Kids take too long to raise though even with the rapid aging. Gonna have to play this one in intervals.

Thanks for the races though! Love em. My favorites are the slimes and the mimic.

Vanilla Psycasts Expanded helped me with my permanent gunshot wound to the brain. Turns out regrow limbs also restores brains. That's right ladies and gentlemen... my warg is gonna be okay! Unfortunately it didn't work on a shattered nose though so may have to try to kidnap that elixir slime to add to my ranks after all.
RedMattis  [author] 3 Mar @ 1:12am
@Syilumi lunari
They should be able to change size. I certainly wouldn't disable it with HAR.

If it is only an issue with HAR then if might be some of Erdelf's patches are interfering, I guess.

@Ghevd
Not being able to heal brain damage was mostly to avoid making them utterly op.

They are deliberately designed to be kind of awful aside of their incredible healing due to its potency, but gene-modding can fix most of their issues.
Ghevd 2 Mar @ 7:30pm
@Syilumi lunari I don't believe that's intended. I assume it is a mod conflict. My slimes change size both visibly and in the health tab.

Don't mind me, I'll just be here sulking in the corner because elixir slimes can't heal brain damage and my plan to raid every slime village until I'm able to kidnap one is for not!

Stupid elixir slimes... can't wear anything, can't wield anything, and they don't even taste good... *kicks rock*.
Syilumi lunari 13 Feb @ 11:33am
ima guess its intended
RedMattis  [author] 12 Feb @ 10:31pm
@Aphasia
Thanks. Issue replicated. Will fix asap.
Aphasia 12 Feb @ 3:07pm
shambler slimes cause error spam, could anyone replicate this? If not—I'll try to find the source
Syilumi lunari 14 Jan @ 12:44pm
the slimes still dont change sizes at all when HARs is installed is this intended?

Mismagius 23 Dec, 2024 @ 3:12pm
hey found a problem. if a slime spawns as a stranger with the body mastery trait, they can't get bigger in anyway outside dev mode because their hunger bar is missing.
RedMattis  [author] 14 Dec, 2024 @ 6:21am
@RealLifeHobgoblin
The "Slime Bar" slider lets you set how big they should aim to be.

@KungWoo, Mismagius
Try grabbing latest by doing a "Verify integrity of game files". The paths have changed and mismatches can cause that issue. There was indeed an issue with the slime/glutton body paths pointing at the wrong thing before (wrong letter capitalization iirc.)
RealLifeHobgoblin 12 Dec, 2024 @ 6:59pm
My slimes have bottomless stomachs. How do I put them on a diet? I don't need them so big TnT
KungWoo 11 Dec, 2024 @ 6:20pm
@mismagius, I am also having this issue as well as the Glutton body type from "Big and Small - Heaven & Hell"
Mismagius 11 Dec, 2024 @ 3:50pm
oh and also, one of your updates seem to have broken the slime textures and they are appearing as a red box with an X now: https://ibb.co/m9qmmn8
the error mentions something about being unable to find the head textures
Mismagius 11 Dec, 2024 @ 3:40pm
yo, would it be possible to make a engulf ability that transforms the others into the slime's xenotype if kept in there for a long enough time?
RedMattis  [author] 11 Dec, 2024 @ 1:36am
@Johann
Should be fixed. Was just an error in the texture paths from some restructuring.
dovahkiin-z-AK47 10 Dec, 2024 @ 8:33am
I found what causes slimes heads to disappear it happens only when mod Facial Animation is active
Johann 10 Dec, 2024 @ 2:10am
This is nice, I was eyeballing the toxic slices for my Waster playthrough but for some reason their heads just... don't exist?
dovahkiin-z-AK47 7 Dec, 2024 @ 11:42am
i started save with this mod yesterday, so far all slimes that raid my colony had no head texture
MECHARAUSER 20 Nov, 2024 @ 7:29am
I'll test around with my modlist a bit one of these days, see if I can find the culprit.
MECHARAUSER 20 Nov, 2024 @ 7:28am
(Also I noticed this, but the slime meter on my slime pawns always resets to zero on save-load. Got no idea what causes that either but I have a strong recollection that did not use to happen some months ago)
Plaguelord 20 Nov, 2024 @ 4:00am
@MECHARAUSER
I'm having the exact same issue, again with an Elixir Slime
MECHARAUSER 18 Nov, 2024 @ 4:00pm
Only fully reloading the game seems to fix the issue, but over time something unspecified breaks the effective tracking of her size. This time she is stuck on a small size.
Regardless of cache reset or whatever else. I even tried save-loading and her size is correct, large, according to the slime meter, then she just shrinks back to a certain small size she was some while ago. Really weird issue, log shows no errors either ;-;
MECHARAUSER 16 Nov, 2024 @ 5:59pm
There appears to be a bug that is unfortunately seemingly traceless, as in it produces no errors of any sort that I can see, nothing.
In a nutshell, I got an elixir slime and her size is insane. She has voraciously obliterated all the food in the colony. Now the actual problem is that, and I have noticed this for some time but I couldn't quite put a finger on it before experimenting on it, but her size doesn't apply changes downwards at all. Once she grows to a size, she will magically reset to it even if an attempt is made to lower her size. I have the slime set to 60, but her size is still 3.9 with a gigantic appetite attached to it.
Curiously, using the reset caches button sets her size, visibly, to the correct small one, but the absolute instant I leave the mod settings menu (not even unpause, just simply leave the settings menu) her size poofs up to 3.9 again. Absolutely nothing I try that I could think of can reduce her size, the thing seems bugged and stuck.
RedMattis  [author] 12 Nov, 2024 @ 8:19am
@Syilumi lunari
Yeah, it is just XML.

If you don't mind writing XML I would suggest writing a tiny addon mod that either changes it via Patches (ChatGPT can help with the XPath if you're not sure how those work), or adds a new gene that permits more extreme sizes.
Syilumi lunari 12 Nov, 2024 @ 2:49am
wait cant you just go into the mod files and change the like max value
Aphasia 11 Nov, 2024 @ 8:46pm
need a gene to allow slimes to reach absurd sizes more easily, like 1000% full titan slimes, maybe make the slime less downsides with the gene too
RedMattis  [author] 3 Nov, 2024 @ 2:30pm
@Miss_Torture
That's probably a bug. I've not seen that one in particular, but the slime bar seems quite temperamental on some modlists. I've not confirmed if HAR is involved or not personally though.
Sam, the Artistic and Autistic 2 Nov, 2024 @ 2:40am
dude, sliem, squish squish
Syilumi lunari 30 Oct, 2024 @ 2:36pm
thats what im saying
Spear Deer 29 Oct, 2024 @ 8:45pm
I can verify it is in fact HAR that is breaking the slime size.
Mismagius 27 Oct, 2024 @ 5:31pm
@Miss_Torture having the same issue over here.
Miss_Torture 14 Oct, 2024 @ 5:02pm
Is there a way to set the default Slime size? I usually like my slimes around 130-180 but every time I load into my game its set back down to nearly 0 and I have to manually do it for each slime I have every time :(
RedMattis  [author] 26 Sep, 2024 @ 12:30pm
@theothersteve7
Should be sorted now.
theothersteve7 26 Sep, 2024 @ 10:33am
No error messages or anything. Slimes all constantly dump their hunger meter as though converting it to body mass, but don't increase their body mass. Started this morning.
