If you aren't doing so already, I strongly suggest you get hold of Irony Mod Manager instead of using the Pdx launcher.

As for the mods crashing the game even while disabled, it could be an issue with their configuration files. I couldn't figure out which one was causing it, but reinstalling the game after removing the data folder fixed it. So if all else fails...

I tried that version- it's definitely cleaner which I prefer! But- yeah, I don't know what's going on with the Hidden Eye portraits, even with the organized version the humanoid portraits can't be accessed. They ARE in the files at least, they show up in one of the pre-written empires I made with a stand-alone mod pre-4.0, but I can't select them to fix the 'must select a portrait' error.

hmm, they shouldn't be missing. The shipsets are indeed redundant however. If it helps, you could use the other version linked in the description to organize the species into base-game classes, which should force them into using the correct, vanilla shipsets

Okay I gave it a go and so far no crashes. However, all of the ships associated with the species (which are iirc are redundant vanilla assets anyways) show up as bio-ships and some of the names are broken.
Also not sure if it's intentional but the humanoids from the hidden eye set are missing- tho the lizards are still present.

This *should* be functional on 4.0, but unfortunately my stellaris mods are crashing and the launcher itself crashes when I try to scroll down the modlist to disable stuff, so I can't make sure or do repairs until that sorts itself out

Please note- as of 4/23/2025, Stellaris' latest patch number is too large to fit in the game version box. As such it will appear outdated in the launcher. Despite what it may say, this mod is still maintained and should still be functional.

Hey weird request, I sent you a friend request but I have no idea how to mod. I have old assets for animated portraits much like these that were somewhat popular back in the 1.0 days of stellaris when these species packs were popular. I can't update the assets and the mod is now probably broken but I'm willing to commission something to help get it working again.

Thank you so so so much for this! Thought i'd never be able to play my fav space pixies again! When the Xirmian mods before stopped working I lost hope for a while, you brught that hope back for me. :steamhappy:

I'd love a second version then, I don't mind having mods divided up, and I can see a use for both (One for those who only have the base game/a few of the DLC, vs one for those who had all their money siphoned from their wallet by Paradox nanites, like me)

That's fair, I actually modded a trait so it didn't have a type-specific requirement for the bird one. While I considered dividing them up like that, there were two major problems:

A: for categories like necroid/lithoid, that might make it DLC locked. I don't know for sure, but i'd rather not risk it.
B: This mod was done for the purposes of restoration, not transformation. I did what I could to make each feature match up with how it was done in the original pack, and that included none of my own modifications, even if I would have preferred things to be done differently.

If there is enough demand, i'd be willing to release a version with the portraits divided into base Stellaris categories, but it would be done as a separate mod entirely.

It'd be nice if these were sorted into the existing appearance groups instead of it's own one.
It currently doesn't allow race specific traits to be picked.

In base game that would only apply for plantoid and fungoid for traits and necroid and lithoid for gameplay style. But who knows what new DLC might do.

But for example if a trait requires say reptilian species you can't pick it for the raptors as that isn't a reptilian species type.

tried getting the axolotl portraits to work @Dishiestglobe but I couldn't get the species category to show up. Will try again later. Otherwise this comment is here to serve as an update in that I haven't forgotten about these requests.

Is there any chance we can get separate mod pages for all the species you've updated? Some of these have been updated by others, such as the raptors (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3275730645) , and I prefer Corsairmarks' new additions and fixes, but I also really want the Hallows.

This Axolotl portrait hasn't been updated since 2021, but if your able to implement it into this mod, that would be great.

Thought there was a silicoid portrait in here, as it was referenced in the files, but perhaps i'm wrong/it wasn't actually included in the original mod beyond being just 'in the files.'

In which case, i'll be happy to update other portraits/portrait packs, to an extent (eg, I probably won't do the myriad anime girl ones.) Please do link them and i'll see if I can do something about them! Since Paradox loves to break things, the older a portrait, the less likely I have the skills to fix them.
