This was very, very hard on legendary. And I've beaten every mission in the main game on legendary deathless. This was harder than LASO.

RIP digsite, your work is a testament to the importance of preserving the history and development of these games for future generations.

We were robbed of Guardian Forest, High Charity, & Forerunner City. These are passionate people who deserved to be compensated for their time because despite being dated content, It remains extremely important historically.

Needless to say this is peak content. The mystery surrounding these levels is mythical and that alone makes this amazing.

loved the "sorry you did not WIN" ending, but i find it a bit bittersweet playing through this now knowing that despite the amount of time and effort that went into this release, this is most likely the last official digsite release we will ever get since microsoft and halo studios just dont realize how much this stuff means to people.

For those wondering how to play the mod, here's step-by-step how to do it :

1) In your Library, you got trough the list of your game until you find Halo MCC, right click on it, and click on Properties.

2) Once in the properties overlay, find the launch options in Generals, and select launch MCC (anti-cheat disabled)

3) Launch MCC, go to the Halo 2 campaign, and you should see the additionals mission.

Great mission. You guys did a fantastic job restoring it. It was interesting to see the CE Shade Turret and Spirit Dropships in Halo 2. Really wish this made the final cut

Much better than what we got in the actual Halo 2. Absence of flood was the best part as its introduction in sacred icon feels more suitable.

Nice piece of history but needs polishing, especially with enemy spawns. For some reason some enemies only spawn in when you are at certain points (which happen to be really vulnerable positions) and some enemies only spawn in when you kill an enemy (which I found out the hard way through a painful death by fuel rod cannons). Just please make it so that the queue for certain enemies to spawn is a bit further out, would be greatly appreciated.

Phenomenal job bringing this to light! This had a very authentic feel to it, bringing me back to the days of the first time I played Halo 2.

With that said, I did have to remind myself that this is an early build (which is no fault of your own!) Honestly, I prefer what we got over this. I feel like Oracle is much better fitting. Alpha Moon feels bloated and large scale for the sake of it being so. The way they are presented in Halo 2 makes them feel like a militia, this mission makes them feel like a full-on army. Both can work, but I prefer the Heretics being a militia of a few hundred rather than an army of a thousand.

All in all, great work!

It would have been better if you start with a carbine instead of a plasma rifle. Or if more guns were on the map.

Pretty cool work, though it bordered on Jackal sniper level of annoying/repetitive with the constant ambushes of turrets/fuel rod cannon teams.

Played this mod when it initially released during time of commenting. Got kinda lost at a couple of points, (just the nature of cut content, I would say in this case lol), and the game got stuck at a level loading screen for me after the credits.

Other than that though, the Alpha Moon release was worth the wait, I'd say. Great work to the Digsite crew and everyone else involved in this mod's release! :MCCHELMET:

Hey folks, just a heads up that upcoming updates will both:

- Add dialog subtitles with speaker name to both Alpha Moon and E3 2003.
They'll respect the MCC setting to display subtitles, so turn that on if you'd like to use them.

- Coincide with a NexusMods mirror release of Alpha Moon, as we have already done for E3 2003.

- Updated the music to the newer mastered recordings from my touchups for the soundtrack release.

What amazing work that was done by everyone involved, and I'm impressed how well this flows like a regular mission. It be very cool to see this one day in a full modded campaign that incorporates it.

Amazing work, was so much fun playing a new halo 2 level, it felt authentic too.
Only issue is at the section near the end when you kill the two big guns, you get put in a cutscene showing you the structure to enter, the enemy vehicles that spawn can kill you in the cutscene.

Other than that, great work.

Congratulations on this content! Seeing the Arbi in action again is spectacular, the inospitant atmosphere of the moon was quite immersive for me! The return of the Spirist ships is something to highlight and how oppressive those anti-aircraft guns are! and the End left me speechless.... 9/10!

Honestly, this needs more work. Not terrible though, just needs some more fine tuning and maybe even making the map a bit less of a loop around.

Fantastic work. The E3 demo and this Alpha moon has been very special to play.

Although I'm confused on what's next?

Next on both list is Rampancy, but it's already made?

And the macworld demo is already made too (i think), but a comment on that page from dev said you're making a "2"

Is there a more clear guide on your guys work/plans, because it's very hard to follow what the plans are.

Excellent work. I can see why they cut the level but I would have liked to play it back in the day. I enjoyed the level but given the chaotic development they couldn't have polished it.
