@Aenrikir Unfortunately it appears this is not compatible with english , just isn't anything that works to make the unit names appear. I tried to open up the loc file and it displayed chinese characters.

@Kyris / @eagle : There`s a reason for that issue. You arent using the same language as the Autor of this mod. If you want to see them, you have to change the language of your game. Or you should grab "UPC". Thats a "little" file for the translation of many mods. You can add your own date to it too. But you should check it out for yourself, my english is too bad for a good description XD

@Kyris, yes, I have this same issue, the units have no name/description. I know for a fact that unit names are in the mod (I checked in PFM), but I don't know why they aren't showing.

Thank you for your comentary... I rebalance the stats in the units in the future, because with the new DLC Rise of tbhe Republic it will be a new faction... I thought the samnites in the GC like auxiliary troops, with less stats like the roman troops, but now, they fight against Rome, so I balance the units, price and unkeep even...

Hey, nice mod. But you should balance it a bit more.
The units are to expensive in the GC. Both, price and upkeep are too high.

Any chance you can make thes guys stronger? Even the best units lose quite easily to hastati. Also mine have no names, any chance you can name them or is it just a bug?

Ok, after I played the Samnites in some battles I must say, they are not so strong and can have problems against Hastati and Principes.
What this mod needs:
1.)
own playable faction in grand campaign (cause at 270 B.C. they were independent and allies of Rome)
2.)
playable stronger units which can equaly fight early romans (as they did succesful in real history)
3.)
Unit names, description and so on
....
The historic look, is one of the best and authentic so far in this game of all factions !

I activated this mod and can in my current Rome campaign deploy Samnites in Rome :)
Well, a little historic inaccurate, but anyhow nice to have!
I also have the bug, where I dont see unit names and kind of unit.
Unfortunally I must check manually via "U" at the battlefield.
The skins for the Samnites look very historic and in some ways also better as the vanilla early romans.

Update your mod and check it up now... I updated the problem and you´ll see your roman army with his original vanilla colour, and each samnite unit with his one...

Id like to mention im not to happy I like the units but there is a issue were the romans are all colored in white??? So it has screwed up my campaign.... Fix it please..

this has been awesome and I'm in love with it, and I have a mod that enable me to play as the samnites but when I try to recruit them, they're greyed out with no name so I don't know who's who and it freezes when I use any of them in battle

Hola Flanagan.... puedo hacer una pregunta sin mala fe? es idea mia o el color de las unidades esta demasiado recargadao o muy "plano", por decirlo de algun modo? Debiera usar "ancient" o el "remastered" para un mejor resultado?
A proposito, me encantan tus unidades.... tengo 6 ejercitos romanos, practicamente compuestos solo de tus unidades, haha... saludos

Have you foreseen your own campaign map? Because it should be cool to play with the Lucanian, Samnite and Etruscan vs Rome in 320 BC.

I've try with several mod but I've a crash, the mods wasn't update since sometime... and Lucanian wasn't playable...

No la descripcion de las unidades es un pequeño problema de diseño de este juego... va en un archivo aparte, que al ser una tabla estilo excel, no permite añadir a la tabla, sino sustituirla, por lo que hay que modificar la tabla completa (localisation.loc). Hay un mod que se dedica a recopilar todas las descripciones (UPC) de todos los mods, y transformarlas en cada idioma (el localisation.loc es distinto para cada idioma) y ahora estoy en fase de darle la descripcion a los de ese mod.

Ok Flanagan... entonces se supone que ahora si se puede ver el nombre de la unidad en las custom battle. Yo hablo español tambien, pero tengo todas mis versiones en Ingles ya que los encargo a EEUU, puesto que a AL llegan mucho, mucho tiempo despues (soy argentino)

In this mod the db use samnite faction like "pro_samnite" culture... I define samnite faction like "pun_samnite" culture to create units in DLC "Anibal at the Gates"...anyway, I have updated my mod and now you can select my units in custon battles with this mod, too.

Units names and descriptions will be later, when I can include this in the mod "Unit Pack Compatibily"...in this mod are most of the new units descriptions created in the mods.. with the permission of their modders, I include in future the link...and yes, I speak spanish, of course better than english as you can see...

When I refer to "cloned" appearance, I mean about the "Rome Total War" series...so I think that it was a terrible fail to use, for example, the system combination of tunics in the units, only changing the basic colour in the new Rome II, crashing all the posibilities that this game let to the players, and this is the reason for mooders try to improve the game day by day...of course, I know every Total War Game since the first Shogun Total War, and I have played with each one, and I know their adavantages and dissadvantages...

I think that this game is not compatible with DEI, it is no CTD, but DEI don´t let play the samnites like a playable faction...
