@minveraz Will UR new mods have smarter AI behavior? ?w?

Broke messages in2 parts because of STEAM's character limit btw. X3
AkagiVoid 5 Jul @ 2:14pm
Civilian AI:
I would like 2 see a mar smarter Civ AI dats in no team group, the Civ AI npc will run away if their spooked or sees a player with a weapon in their hand dats not part of GMod's basic weapons of "Physics Gun", "Tool Gun", "Medkit", and "Fist". :3
Also if Civ AI is attacked with GMod's "Fist" weapon dan they will start fighting back with their own fists until they reach like 10 or 20% HP then starts running away. >w>
AkagiVoid 5 Jul @ 2:14pm
Combatant AI:
4 the Com AI type, I would like see it chase player at distance of 30 or 50m and if player runs out of its range it will still keep running ind at direction 4 a few mar seconds be4 stopping and standing 4 like 3~5seconds then return 2 the place where it was originally at. :3
Also if the Com AI npc runs over a weapon, check if weapon's ammo is above 20%, if so then it will pick dat weapon up and start using it, if the current weapon's range is shorter dan the current pivcked up weapon, or if current weapon is out of bullets(which the Com AI npc should drop empty weapons btw), or no weapon being used. ^w^

sorry man, didnt wanna seem rude, i get how it feels to make something and having everyone to tell you it sucks, but dont let them win by having you stopping making mods
minveraz  [author] 1 Jul @ 3:17pm
thanks for the support i actually wanna make addons now (:
Epicsar44 1 Jul @ 3:12pm

CookedByChlorine 23 Jun @ 5:47am
Why would we need this when crowd panic exists???
почему женщины кричат мужские фразы а джимен издаёт рандомные звукии разных нпс
Another idea: if an enemy is firing continuously (for example, sustained machine gun fire) at one or more targets, this could be treated as suppressive fire. In that case, the NPC would avoid peeking from cover or counterattacking. Then a % roll could determine whether they panic and attempt to retreat.

P.s
I had to split the messages into two parts. Since Steam has a character limit of 1000. :steamsad:
This mod is pretty cool, but it has some flaws.

1. During panic events, NPC voicelines can get mixed up — for example, a female NPC might scream with a male voice.

2. NPCs usually hide and retreat in response to threats like explosions and gunfire. They’re very reluctant to counterattack or fight back.

I have an idea on how to improve the mod:
The larger the group of NPCs — for example, Rebels — the less they panic and the more aggressively they fight.

However, when they witness one of their teammates dying, there should be a % chance that X% of the remaining Rebels will decide to retreat from the battlefield (temporarily). If the player dies, the chance of the Rebels retreating or becoming demoralized should increase.

"corny" everybody says that shit and its losing its meaning atp. and you're proving my point that people in the gmod community and just steam in general are annoying asf

minveraz  [author] 29 Apr @ 2:12pm
@Dat Epik Duk No, you don't have to unsubscribe from the Panic+ addon, although it is recommended since it might conflict (Haven't tested yet) with the newer Panic++.
minveraz  [author] 29 Apr @ 2:10pm
@Cube Guy get a load of this guy. Shows up throwing around baseless claims like he's doing the world a favor... Maybe next time, try leaving feedback that’s useful instead of embarrassing.
Spuratisia 28 Apr @ 3:38pm
first time using this addon, it'd just be a cacophony of screaming mixed with normal lines- very annoying, and opening up the settings menu doesnt help
Dat Epik Duk 27 Apr @ 11:22am
Do we have to unsubscribe from the Panic+ addon?
Industrial_Idiot 27 Apr @ 4:13am
I hope you managed to fix some problems that the original had. For example in the original addon NPC's would be stuck single firing weapons due to them always trying to retreat/move up at the same time rather than going into full bursts.
Cube Guy 26 Apr @ 11:00pm
to anyone reading this: do not subscribe to the creator's shit nor support the creator, "their" "work" is made entirely by AI (even the comments!) and with no effort.

I edited the addon myself when I got errors for a bad self declare(self shouldn't be used in hooks) and while fixing that I managed to get female citizen-based npcs to play female voicelines instead of male. Is there any way I can send you these changes? You consideration is appreciated, I've been waiting for a mod like this for a long time.
minveraz  [author] 25 Apr @ 5:33pm
This behavior is intentional to simulate a more realistic fear response, panic isn’t just triggered by enemies, but by gunfire in general. Even friendly NPCs can misinterpret sudden violence as a threat, especially in high-stress scenarios.
w4defish 25 Apr @ 10:57am
I noticed npc's that are friendly with eachother are causing panic when shooting to their friendlies. A citizen shooting causing any nearby citizens to panic. Would it be possible to add a way to remove this, at least for friendly npcs? or reduce it even.
Lynch 24 Apr @ 4:16pm
@minveraz I understand, sorry for the misunderstanding. Good luck with the development!
minveraz  [author] 24 Apr @ 4:14pm
Thank you for your questions. The decision to create Panic++ as a separate mod came from the need for better performance, refined features, and a new, more efficient UI. The original Panic+ code had structural issues that made it difficult to implement these improvements effectively. While some updates could have been added to Panic+, starting fresh with Panic++ allowed me to address these issues and deliver a more better experience.

Regarding your second question, this mod is solely developed by me, not by AI.
Lynch 24 Apr @ 4:07pm
Two things: Why not update the already released addon? Is this done by an AI?

I'm just curious, that's all.
