The KCD2 Nutrition Mod

Visiting the bathhouse resets the nutrition of all 4 types, and dehydrates you; even if it was completely full before you started your bath.

As such you need to eat even though your nourishment is full; resulting in a lot of overeating. (As mentioned by Dopamine.Terrorist below)
Then you need to restock all 4 types again, so you'll go through food faster and certain food types (vegetables and fruit) are a lot harder to find than meat in most of the map so you can actually run out and soft-lock yourself. (malnutrion + overencumbrance + bleed = spiral of death, bleed optional)

Lastly, alcohlic beverages not rehydrating makes me sad; but I understand you'd probably have to rework every existing item to add the functionality? Hence the addition of a new item: drinking water. Perhaps a cantine item or the ability to refill bottles would be possible?

Even with the described issues, I'm really enjoying the extra immersion! Thank you.
Would be nice if nutrients last a lot longer (e.g. you can live without protein intake for a long time without feeling detrimental effects, but you'll feel very thirsty even after just a day without water) and had more stages or smoothly transitioned but also that eating one of any nutrient doesnt fully max it out.

Various foods especially those created from the cooking mod should be able to fill up multiple nutrition areas too.

Just for my understanding: if I eat a simple dish from the cooking mod, my protein bar, f.e. after eating something with meat, doesn't fill up. Is this intended and if yes, is it planed to integrate the mods more into each other? Btw love your mods, they really enhance gameplay in kcd2!

Amazing mod, only nitpick is it feels a little like food nourishment is too high compared to its nutritional content. It kinda leads the experience to force the use of a LOT of digestive potions in order to keep nutrition met without overeating frequently. Makes it extremely hard/annoying to keep a balanced diet, and its much more exacerbated if you ever use the baths as well as you exit for some reason completely malnourished with scurvy a protein deficiency, dehydration etc.

With this mod installed I lose energy when riding the horse in trot. Walk or galop is fine.

it's seems that, after goeing to bath, all nutritions go in 0, I will uninstall this mod but it's really nice! I will check again after update :)

Not sure if this is intentional or not, but after installing the mod I IMMEDIATELY started out with all the stats at the absolute bottom values, crippling my abilities and making me unable to effectively wield half my weapons. I hope this is a bug, otherwise it seems kinda ridiculous to start you off like that instead of starting you off at full values. I have 100 Nourishment too so I can't even do anything about that without trudging myself over to the nearest alchemy bench a million miles away. I gotta uninstall this mod because of that, if it gets fixed then I'll re-download. If it's intentional, I'll politely decline using this one and just stick with the Cooking/Camping mod. Otherwise, I love your work dude, I hope this is a bug and that you can fix it!

@ Doc - sounds like you might have another mod overwriting my changes to certain foods.. for mine to work, the foods need a buff attached to it. if another mod edits the same food entry and changes all its values and removes the buff my mod added, you would end up with a scenario where some foods are working and other aren't. try loading up with only this mod and see if the meat and fish work as intended. if so, start adding mods back one by one till you find the conflict

Awesome mod, really enjoying it. Does anyone know if there's a way of obtaining drinking water without having to buy it?
Doc 21 May @ 3:59pm
My Protein Meter isn't filling up when I eat meat, fish or eggs. Walnuts are the only thing working. I haven't tried every single type of meat or fish but I have tried regular, smoked and dried of quite a few different ones.
Could you try making liquids other than water help with hydration as well? Even in small way, I was suprised that drinking milk or beer didnt helped with it

Somehow, downloading mod via Steam doesn't load after Cooking mod. I've to manual install to get the mod food compatible with this.
Phil_Morice 14 May @ 1:27am
I installed the nutrition manually and now everything works like a charm. Ty. Those both mods combined make the game so much better. They should be in the base game at least in hardcore.
brickhead 13 May @ 7:24pm
haventh ad a hance to try it out yetb ut this might be a godsend for me
djb  [author] 13 May @ 4:00pm
@phil_morice and @nebzy - sounds like a load order problem! the nutrition mod needs to load last, so it can patch the items added by the cooking mod before it. by default the nutrition mod loads after cooking, but i think any mods installed via steam get preference over manually installed ones.. if you have the cooking mod installed manually, it would get loaded after nutrition and you wont get the buffs from its food items. have a look here to make a mod load order file, under the "mod load order" section:

so I tried this mod and it only works with the base food in the game. Sadly it wont fill up the nutrions with any of the cooked meals from your cooking mod. I dont know if this is a bug from the mod itself or from my side but I dont have any other food altering mods installed. Would be a shame if it doesnt work because both of the mods are brilliant.
Nebzy 13 May @ 12:05am
am i wrong or do the cooking recipes from your cooking mod not give buffs based on the types of food in the stew for example. it just gives overall hunger instead of protein veggies and hydration from a stew
somerville 12 May @ 10:19am
looks too bloated, needs refinement
Tuna84 11 May @ 4:57pm
This mod should be part of the game.
King Pineapple 11 May @ 8:56am
when combined with the cooking mod, the mod you say this mod was meant to complement, not all dishes provide the appropriate nutrition. For example the garlic and boletus dish does not fuel the vegetable meter, the traditional sausage dish does not give protien and so on. This is not meant to be mean, i love both mods dearly and would love for them to work as intended. Maybe i'm doing something wrong?
djb  [author] 10 May @ 3:31pm
@mcveys - thanks for the report! I’ll have so see if I can reproduce that and come up with a fix! will look into it soon

@geeks on hugs - you can get the inventory version on nexusmods where you can track the nutrition in the buffs section, this is the one I use normally, cause I like a nice clean in game view. pretty sure you can still see buffs in hardcore, but i haven’t checked that just yet.

@sigma - sounds like the mod isn’t loading properly for some reason - you can email me the kcd.log if you like and I’ll have a look to see why
mcveys 10 May @ 5:26am
Used it in Hardcore Mode and it caused some problems. I noticed food would no longer give you any healing benefits. Also it seemed to somehow to make my stamina drain while just trotting when riding Pebbles. As soon as I unsubscribed it, those problems went away.
Geeks On Hugs 9 May @ 8:51pm
It looks like this relies on HUD elements...is this viable to use in hardcore mode?
Wonjel 8 May @ 3:48pm
THIS IS what i was hoping for in hardcore mod! i always why different types of food if theres only one stat noursiment!!
Sigma 7 May @ 5:01pm
I've installed the mod, but I'm not seeing any of the indicators on regular or hardcore mode. Is there something we need to do to turn it on, or alter the UI in some way?
Lucasleepwalker 6 May @ 1:29pm
fyi you can still be vegan with this in the game, walnuts give protein
CHEESE_BANK 6 May @ 11:46am
Both of your new mods are great! Is it possible to make a " Fleas and Disease" mod where you have a chance of getting fleas or rat bites? and the debuff slowly becomes the plague if you don;t treat it or drink the right potion? I feel like you're the perfect person to ask.
Lucasleepwalker 6 May @ 10:32am
nice, thank you for making this
