Was a pretty big part of the culture in royal oak and I'm still bitter about it lmao, so figured I'd showcase the last photo I have of the place in a fun way. I think that photo might have been the last time all of the lights and neon ever lit up on the sign ☹️
🙏 thank you so much for taking the time to play the map and for the very kind write-up :D
I've been exploring maps in g-mod since I got the game and never has a map terrified as much as it delighted like gm_indoorspaces. The twisting halls are eerie and relentlessly oppressive, but tucked in odd nooks and crannies that contain a little sliver of wonder: the bopping dance floor, the beautiful lights of the maze, the heartfelt comments of the gallery. This one's a genuine must-play for anyone interested in exploration content, well worth the hour or two of exploration and wonder.
Thanks you Dylan for the hard work! Each map's been an improvement, and this one might as well be a masterpiece.
Seems like the corrupt navmesh error is just a symptom of the engine failing to load the map because of it being a bit bigger in memory
Did you read the description and are you on the 64-bit branch of gmod?
I'm gonna guess it's probably the map's payload size, uncompressed all that stuff adds up quite a bit but I didn't want to have to make people mount like 5 games worth of stuff just to play one map. Flip side of that decision is that it's a memory monster and I think the 32-bit memory address space doesn't like pages larger than 2gb at a time and I'd bet this unpacks to more than that. God I hate this part of dev lmao
Either way, yeah, the x64 branch works. Not sure what the hell is up with the other one with this map and why only this map (for me at least) is having issues with it.
Again, you're not missing anything if you've played the version before this newest update. It just seeks to streamline a few systems and make some edge cases not happen. Well that, and maybe some rooms grew out of the darkness somewhere lmao
"AI node graph maps/graphs/gm_indoorspaces.ain is corrupt."
Might have been a weird hiccup while downloading that corrupted some of the data, wouldn't be the first time I've heard of that happening lmao
