Did a big clean-up on the description, it now has a much more concise read-me at the top and also now includes a little hint guide at the bottom! Each hint is individually spoilered so don't worry about seeing too much, feel free to use those if you get stuck!
QuantumDylan  [author] 23 Jul @ 2:14pm
@Michael of Carcosa unfortunately it's not a map, at least not yet. It's a local theater that was closed down during covid and left abandoned by the city till they tore it down and replaced it with some ugly painfully generic work share office.

Was a pretty big part of the culture in royal oak and I'm still bitter about it lmao, so figured I'd showcase the last photo I have of the place in a fun way. I think that photo might have been the last time all of the lights and neon ever lit up on the sign ☹️

What is the map in the poster that says "Gone too soon 1941-2021", it looks interesting
QuantumDylan  [author] 21 Jul @ 9:56am
@Pandafunkey809 it's in the steam settings for gmod under the beta tab
Pandafunkey809 20 Jul @ 8:42pm
how do I do that?
QuantumDylan  [author] 20 Jul @ 8:35pm
@Pandafunkey809 similar to some of the other people with that error, it means you need to run gmod on the x86_64 branch
QuantumDylan  [author] 20 Jul @ 6:55pm
@sanguine_vulpes I really appreciate it, putting little touches into these maps is my favorite part about the whole creation process hahaha

🙏 thank you so much for taking the time to play the map and for the very kind write-up :D
Pandafunkey809 20 Jul @ 4:25pm
AI node graph maps/graphs/gm_indoorspaces.ain is corrupt
sanguine_vulpes 20 Jul @ 2:54am
A review, some kind words, and a few spoilers.

I've been exploring maps in g-mod since I got the game and never has a map terrified as much as it delighted like gm_indoorspaces. The twisting halls are eerie and relentlessly oppressive, but tucked in odd nooks and crannies that contain a little sliver of wonder: the bopping dance floor, the beautiful lights of the maze, the heartfelt comments of the gallery. This one's a genuine must-play for anyone interested in exploration content, well worth the hour or two of exploration and wonder.

Thanks you Dylan for the hard work! Each map's been an improvement, and this one might as well be a masterpiece.
QuantumDylan  [author] 19 Jul @ 8:52pm
@dragondudes3 unfortunately that might be a memory error or something to that effect, does it exit with an error?
dragondudes3 19 Jul @ 7:48pm
crash during loading
QuantumDylan  [author] 19 Jul @ 7:23pm
@dragondudes3 does it load into the map or crash during loading?
dragondudes3 19 Jul @ 6:54pm
map still crashes even if im in the x86_64 branch
Benjamin 18 Jul @ 3:14pm
ok
QuantumDylan  [author] 18 Jul @ 3:13pm
@Benjamin (NO AUDIO) perfect, if there's anything else you need I'll be right here!
Benjamin 18 Jul @ 3:10pm
I already did. and it went ok.
QuantumDylan  [author] 18 Jul @ 3:02pm
@Benjamin (NO AUDIO) you'll want to enable the x86_64 beta in the steam settings for gmod, I think it might be a memory error caused by the 32-bit default branch of gmod

Seems like the corrupt navmesh error is just a symptom of the engine failing to load the map because of it being a bit bigger in memory
Benjamin 18 Jul @ 2:41pm
Wait a minute @Talon's having the same problem as me!
Benjamin 18 Jul @ 2:40pm
Why is the AI node graph corrupt!?
QuantumDylan  [author] 18 Jul @ 2:22pm
@Benjamin (NO AUDIO) no worries mi amigo! I hope you enjoy!
QuantumDylan  [author] 18 Jul @ 2:18pm
@Benjamin (NO AUDIO) ??? Buddy I have no idea what you're trying to say here lol

Did you read the description and are you on the 64-bit branch of gmod?
QuantumDylan  [author] 18 Jul @ 1:56pm
@Talon that makes two of us!!! Thanks so much for the extra help testing btw, you're a legend. Sorry about all the source spaghetti, I swear it's so damn hard to look up any errors that aren't the most basic stuff regarding gmod cause you just get a million results for what rebuilding a navmesh is guhhhhh

I'm gonna guess it's probably the map's payload size, uncompressed all that stuff adds up quite a bit but I didn't want to have to make people mount like 5 games worth of stuff just to play one map. Flip side of that decision is that it's a memory monster and I think the 32-bit memory address space doesn't like pages larger than 2gb at a time and I'd bet this unpacks to more than that. God I hate this part of dev lmao
Talon 18 Jul @ 1:50pm
I did try that branch and it seems to work. I'm not sure I recall what issues I was having with it in the past. Who knows? Maybe it was an addon that I've long since uninstalled that was having issues with it.

Either way, yeah, the x64 branch works. Not sure what the hell is up with the other one with this map and why only this map (for me at least) is having issues with it.
QuantumDylan  [author] 18 Jul @ 1:39pm
@Talon unfortunately I'm not able to replicate it on my end, it seems like anyone that had been getting the error was able to solve it with the 64 bit branch but I know that's not an option for you :(
Talon 18 Jul @ 1:37pm
The map loads and then closes out with the same error message I mentioned in a previous post on here.
QuantumDylan  [author] 18 Jul @ 1:36pm
@Talon unfortunately, I'm not getting it on my blank slate gmod install so I'm not entirely sure what's going on. Is it preventing the map from loading?
Talon 18 Jul @ 1:26pm
Getting the same error. I even tried again with all of my addons disabled and I still get that error.
QuantumDylan  [author] 18 Jul @ 1:14pm
Update is live again, this should fix the navmesh issues and hopefully doesn't create any more lmao
QuantumDylan  [author] 18 Jul @ 12:57pm
Okay! I think I've got it fixed, had to do a quick navmesh redo and regenerated the whole thing. Do keep in mind you'll probably need to be on some sort of 64-bit branch of gmod to run this map as it is quite large and loading it into memory might tax some systems with less available RAM.
QuantumDylan  [author] 18 Jul @ 12:28pm
Doing some quick clean-up, sorry for all the mess everyone! I can't tell if there was like a weird steam cloud issue or some general mess up on my end while packing. Keep your eyes peeled over the next hour or so and I should have the update reinstated!

Again, you're not missing anything if you've played the version before this newest update. It just seeks to streamline a few systems and make some edge cases not happen. Well that, and maybe some rooms grew out of the darkness somewhere lmao
QuantumDylan  [author] 18 Jul @ 7:28am
Reverting the update till I get home, not really sure what's going on.
Zurr(Serien/Ney) 18 Jul @ 7:00am
vvv same
Talon 18 Jul @ 6:55am
I get this engine error message when I try to load in now...

"AI node graph maps/graphs/gm_indoorspaces.ain is corrupt."
omniversequirk 17 Jul @ 8:56pm
I'm sorry, I can't read, I just saw the description. Disregard, lol
QuantumDylan  [author] 17 Jul @ 8:52pm
@Darkboy 🙏🙏🙏 I appreciate it!
Darkboy 17 Jul @ 8:41pm
Idk how I never noticed that spoiler section lol. Thanks. Map's peak btw
QuantumDylan  [author] 17 Jul @ 8:40pm
@Darkboy check the spoilered section in the music discussion there's a link in there 😁
Darkboy 17 Jul @ 8:38pm
What's that song in the TV world forest area? It kinda goes hard
Flare56 17 Jul @ 8:26pm
I will tomorrow! This is definitely a Morning map from what Logan showed.
QuantumDylan  [author] 17 Jul @ 8:20pm
@Flare56 Oh thank god, I was so worried I had broken something hahaha. Enjoy the map!
Flare56 17 Jul @ 8:17pm
I figured out the problem: I was an idiot and didnt fully read the description. I went and made my Gmod the x86_64 thing, and it launched without issue
QuantumDylan  [author] 17 Jul @ 8:16pm
@Flare56 Might be worth a shot, unfortunately I'm not sure what else I can do from here :(
Flare56 17 Jul @ 8:12pm
Still didn't work. Maybe I could something like make an ain file with the same name, just blank and rebuild the nodegraph after that?
QuantumDylan  [author] 17 Jul @ 8:08pm
@Flare56 I imagine it should just be a few seconds, and I appreciate it! I hope it starts working, I've seen a few people online say it should help

Might have been a weird hiccup while downloading that corrupted some of the data, wouldn't be the first time I've heard of that happening lmao
Flare56 17 Jul @ 8:06pm
How long do I have to wait for the map to delete?
Flare56 17 Jul @ 7:58pm
I'll try that. I really want to wander around the map after seeing logan's video
QuantumDylan  [author] 17 Jul @ 7:55pm
@Flare56 only other thing I can think to do is unsubscribe, wait for it to delete, then resubscribe. Unfortunately I'm not sure past that
Flare56 17 Jul @ 7:50pm
I can't find the file you're talking about
QuantumDylan  [author] 17 Jul @ 6:50pm
@Mummeez Beautiful, absolutely beautiful :D I'm so glad you enjoyed it, hearing about people's own little stories on the map is the best part of releasing a map like this haha!
QuantumDylan  [author] 17 Jul @ 6:47pm
@Flare56 hmmm from what I'm reading online it sounds like you want to delete gm_indoorspaces.ain from the graphs folder in your maps directory. I just tested it on my blank slate steamdeck after deleting the nodegraph myself and I can't get it to complain about the graph being corrupt
