@Nandi
Sorry for the late reply. Has anything improved since then? If it’s still not working, please share the details in the bug report thread - such as error logs or situation - and I’ll look into it.
@Lomion
Oh, so you’re from Britannia as well? Character building within that 700 points (7GM!) skill cap was a lot of fun, and the limit is exactly what created so many memorable stories. That’s the kind of experience I’m hoping to recreate here in Knox Country
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoy it. While the restrictions it introduces can feel inconvenient at first, I believe that’s where much of the fun comes from. It’s still in beta because I plan to keep refining and balancing it, and I’d be happy if it can grow further with feedback from everyone.
@SniffWord
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you’d like to be able to decide which skills count toward the cap on a per-skill basis. You can do this by listing any skills you don’t want included in the cap under the “Excluded Skill Cap” option in the sandbox settings. Give it a try and see if it works for your setup.
Thank you for your suggestion. Off curse I understand the idea, but it’s not something I plan to make the default, I'm so sorry. The core concept of this mod is to move away from “do-everything superman” builds and make skill choices within an overall cap part of the fun. Tying the cap directly to the starting profession would narrow that freedom, even if it makes some thematic sense. If anything, it might be worth considering as an optional setting - for example, a mode where only certain professions can reach the maximum level in specific skills. Your great idea has been added to my TODO list :)
@Air Ray Phalanx
I released the Build 42 version of the Stealth Camo mod recently.
It’s not just updated for the latest build, but has also received significant improvements, so I hope you’ll enjoy trying it out again.

That's a really interesting idea, thank you for the suggestion! Limiting skill levels by profession could definitely add another layer of roleplay and balance. If I were to implement something like this, I think the best approach would be to make it a sandbox option that server owners can configure. It would take some work to get right, but it's definitely something I'd like to consider for the future. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts — ideas like this really help shape the mod's direction!
@KumoKiri
First, please make sure the mod is enabled properly in your game. If the CAP button still doesn’t appear, there may be a conflict with another mod. Could you try creating a new save with only this mod enabled and see if the button shows up there? I’ve confirmed that the button works on both Build 41 and 42, but of course there’s always a chance of a bug, so if you have any more details to share, please let me know, I’d love to help!
@Air Ray Phalanx
Thank you for understanding the concept behind this mod! I'm also really looking forward to the day everyone can enjoy it in Build 42 multiplayer. Actually, the Stealth Camo mod has already been updated for Build 42, but I'm holding off on the release until the vanilla game improves how maps handle non-English text. The updated version includes a brand-new 3D model for the stealth camo and adds a fresh little story to how you obtain it. I hope you'll look forward to it!
Anyway, just a suggestion because I've always wanted that. Thanks so much for making this!
This modification isn't my particular cup of tea, but I'm certain there's other who love this. Although this would be more beneficial if Multiplayer was available in Build 42.
:)
I totally get what you mean - this one *is* a bit more “evil” than my usual QoL-style mods. It’s actually my first time trying something that pushes players to make hard choices and play with limitations instead of just convenience, so it’s a little experiment of mine. If it adds a bit of challenge and makes multiplayer teamwork more fun, then I’ll be really happy! Thanks a lot for checking it out.
@Zaxis, Kell of Rocha
Thank you so much for saying this, I really appreciate it. It's true that the core idea of limiting skills won't be for everyone, but I tried to design it in a way that makes it flexible and meaningful depending on how it's used. I'm really grateful that you took the time to consider the intention behind the mod, not just the premise. That kind of thoughtful feedback means a lot!
@mike_adams77
Yep, it’s inspired by UO — glad you noticed! 😊
Thanks for the suggestion and for sharing the link! It looks like a really interesting mod, and I can definitely see why you’d want them to work together. Right now, since B42 is still in beta and multiplayer support isn't official yet, I'm holding off on full compatibility work for a bit. Once B42’s multiplayer becomes officially supported, I’d be happy to revisit this and look into compatibility! Appreciate your interest.
@Zorelmo
Yes! If you want to "give up" on certain skills, you can set them to the down (Reducible) by clicking their skill cap button. When the total skill cap is reached, one of the reducible skills will be randomly selected to level down, making room for new growth elsewhere. So you can definitely choose what you're willing to let go of!
@Spagootnoodels
Thank you so much! That's *exactly* the kind of experience I had in mind when creating this mod! In multiplayer, it really shines when everyone leans into their own specialties - suddenly, planning and teamwork start to matter a lot more, and the game becomes a whole new kind of fun. I'm super happy you picked up on that intention!
