love the trench set ups. more maps like this please! thanks for the masterpiece!

Maybe you'r right. Maybe those trenches are enough for the russians. However keep working on the terrain... it needs some fixes i think.

I’m happy to hear that the battle did concentrate around the central trenches as this was what I intended. The frozen river in the west was inturn intended as a flanking option and of course being a lake would offer very little cover for advancing troops.

lol yeah the skin on the ice lake does requires some touch up's being in beta phase. Don’t mind the rings in the Russian HQ area as well, they were made that way to allow for an American HQ if the player chose it.
So you feel that even the additional trenches on the Russian south/eastern side & the station in the north/west don’t offer much of a defensive advantage?? Hmmm that’s debateable, as any additional defences would start to make things a little cramped on there side.

If I’ve got that wrong though let me know where you think,
Thanks, Blazed.

well i played whit russians and germans, against AI, and for me there aren't problems whit balance or LoS. For the flow, i say only that the action is concentrated in the center and maybe lacks a bit on the north-western part (the big glacer and up of it).

However to me seems like the russians don't have so much advantages in defense.

The paths in the snow , the russian's terrain into the headquarters zone seems low detailed to me (the big brown area around the HQ). Even the big ice zone to the west of the map whit those big scratches isn't so much good looking. Well, that's all i think....

I'll play it again trying to pay attention at what you need

Aha that’s why I love the expression “each to their own” Guerriero! Yes, this is the beta release of the map so constructive feedback is definitely what I’m looking for. In that being said, this area that you thought was “un-detailed “, can you be more specific so I can have a look myself?

Here’s an interpretation list so you know what kind of feedback I’m actually looking for-

LoS : Line of Sight (so fog of war & shooting issues).

Flow : How well the units (from both sides) move throughout the map.

Balance : How well balanced the map is with buildings/ cover/ terrain.

Take into account that historically this was a German assault on a Russian capital, so the Ruski’s should have a few things in their favour because they had the advantage of defending.

played it. Well, i read that you need to know if there are LoS issues or flow issues or balance problems.... well... i dont know what LoS is or what do you mean for flow or balance, however, i see that the terrain it's not so detailed but that's why it's a beta, am i right? Now, personally, i don't go crazy for this map xD sorry blaze xD

Wow. A lot of time! I appreciate your efforts. I prefer this instead of a low level map. I think i'm going to try your map and tell you what i think :)

Haha no problem Guerriero. Ah now map time depends on the size (players), the detail your willing to put into it with objects, height changes, water, snow, ice and then finally textures. For a highly detailed map for me personally it can take around 3 months just to get it to a point I'm happy to release it on steam. Some designers do like to skip the texture & detailing to help speed up the process but the end result does tend to look a bit bare.

If you look at the screen shots above from Leningrad Outskirts for instance, every single object that you can see in those pictures that isn't a military unit has been individually placed, faced and had the height adjusted. So when your looking at over 1000 objects on a single map this can start to take some serious time! lol.

Now I understand. Hehe ok... sorry for my ignorance, I'm not a modder. How much hard is creating a map? How much time it takes? Doing a 4 v 4 map for example...

Ah one simple reason for that one, in the worldbuilder itself you can add all these amazing weather effects but.. from my understanding to actually have the effects in game on the troops (like freezing) it requires .loa scripting for it to work. I (like alot of map designers) havent managed to to get a hold of this script yet.

Using world builder is for the most part like one big self teaching process, I'll look it up & see if I can add it in for the next update of the map.

I see that most (or nearly all) of winter maps in the workshop are whitout blizzards and i say.... why? I dont know if this map have it but i'll bet no. Blizzards are an innovative thing of coh2, for me its a good thing and i cant understand why you put it away. Tell me a reason please.
