Thanks for the report @typhant, I've stopped using Quartz because it tanks my fps these days, but I'll see about fixing that bug. Hoping to upgrade my PC soon so I might start using it again.

Apologies to anyone else who commented that I haven't replied to, I have kind of abandoned this as I'm not using it anymore. I'll see if I can find some time to look at the issues.

Thank you for the nice UI. It works great for me. :)

On Linux or other systems where filesystem case matters, there is a little bit of changing to make things work... the mod wants the files 'ToolbarBkg.png' and 'Escfocused.png', but in the actual mod they are named 'ToolBarBkg.png' and 'EscFocused.png'. If you go to your Steam folder and manually change the names to match the file that the mod is looking for when you load it with Quartz, then everything loads nicely.

It will work, but not all mod icons are supported + it will drop your fps considerably with certain (refresh rate/shaders) settings. That said, if you are otherwise playing a largely unmodded game, Quartz (and this UI) will change the look and feel nicely : )
Dark_453 25 Jan, 2018 @ 12:03am
Is this still a working mod, been looking for a UI mod. since the vanilla one is.. well Crap.
ol' rdtg 19 Aug, 2017 @ 8:33am
Do you think the fuzzy icon stuff will be fixed? I'm going to give this a shot on my backup Cities (1.7) and see how it looks in 4K.. I am super interested in this as it looks very nice
Stars 18 Aug, 2017 @ 1:34am
It's not broken, so nothing to fix.
ol' rdtg 17 Aug, 2017 @ 3:03am
I really want to give this mod a try, but my monitor is a 4K TV, and the game looks terrible when played in 1080p. The lowest I can usually go is 1440p before everything looks terrible. I am going to watch this mod very carefully, once it's fixed it will be on my top mod list! :D
Stars 14 Jul, 2017 @ 1:32am
The slider bars are my lifesaver for service handling... Also author clearly mentions it's meant to be played at 1080p as that's the only tested and known stable version. As for getting it to work: Try unsubbing and deleting both. then first subbing AND activating Quartz, exit game, sub to Hello UI and activate it, start a new game (not a scenario). Should work flawlessly for a first time setup.
Burningfeetman 14 Jul, 2017 @ 12:07am
I can use either 1080p, or 1920 x 1200 on my larger monitor. I think at the time of trying out these mods, it was set at 1920 x 1200.

Regarding other active mods, I will disable eeeverything except "Hello UI [Fixed 1.7] and "Quartz (Sapphire) - Fixed 1.7

With only these two mods running, plus the stock Colossal Order mods, is there anything else that might prevent it from running? I think the last paid DLC I have is Afterdark, or might be Snowfall... I was pretty alarmed at how disjointed the game started becoming, especially with After Dark, those slider bars made zero sense... and most importantly the crappy UI was never given a facelift!

Hopefully a new UI will renew my interest in Cities:S, with your help, hopefully I can get it working. :steamflake:

hellodave  [author] 13 Jul, 2017 @ 1:29pm
What resolution do you use?
Stars 13 Jul, 2017 @ 1:27pm
deactivating all doesn't fix the issue, force load is on, unsubbed deleted resubbed already, not sure any other is uploaded but they scroll fine (though broken elements since not updated probably)
hellodave  [author] 13 Jul, 2017 @ 12:38pm
@Burning and @Exiri I can't tell what mod that is, what is it?
Thanks for the mod list Exiri, no progress yet unfortunately, I'll try to look at more this weekend.
Does it work for you if you deactivate all other mods? That would confirm a mod conflict.

For anyone else having errors like Burningfeetman, a few things to try (if you haven't already) -

* try the "Force load" option in the Quartz panel
* unsubscribe, delete and resubscribe HelloUi and Quartz
* try a different Quartz skin, I'm not sure which others work at the moment but that would confirm the error is in HelloUI

If that doesn't work then if you post your mod list here I'll see what I can do.
Stars 12 Jul, 2017 @ 3:49am
@Burning That is an unsupported mod, I only get such an error upon exiting, not upon loading though. Could be any mod that has UI components really, pretty sure Dave will ask for mod list :p
Burningfeetman 12 Jul, 2017 @ 1:47am
Finally found time to try a custom UI for Cities Skylines, but I'm not having much luck. Can anyone help with this?

@alien0512.tw thanks! I've updated the one linked above to match the supported mods in yours, mine was a little out of date

@Exiri I've tried a bunch of things to try to replicate your issue but no luck, sorry. The only thing I can think is a mod conflict, could you post your mod list, or a link to it?

I sorted out the collection, making it easy for everyone to use it.

There are no arrows either on most tabs, only on the fire department tab which doesn't even have more than 6 items..
hellodave  [author] 8 Jul, 2017 @ 10:50am
Hey Exiri, no idea why you can't scroll, maybe a mod conflict? It still works for me. Can you scroll by clicking on the arrows or is it just with the mouse wheel?

Curious about the missing button error messages though, if they come via ModTools they would cause a crash if you don't have it?

@ahfro2dirl do you have ModTools installed?

Recently fired up cities skylines again with your updated Hello UI (and Quartz), and apart from the occasional error message for missing buttons there's really only one thing that I can't live with and can't seem to fix: I can't scroll through assets... like trees or props or buildings (not even rico, anything that doesn't fit in one block of lines, roads too). Any idea why/where the issue is/how to fix it??
ahfo2dirl 30 Jun, 2017 @ 6:59pm
@hellodave Use all DCL...OTL
hellodave  [author] 30 Jun, 2017 @ 10:33am
@ahfo2dirl one more thought, what DLC do you have?
hellodave  [author] 30 Jun, 2017 @ 10:20am
@ahfo2dirl Unfortunately I can't work out what caused your error from what you posted. More than likely it's a mod I've not used myself. Try disabling mods until you find the one causing it.

Moon phases - I'll look into

Ultimate eyecandy - uses the same button name as Prop it up, so I can't change one without changing the other. I posted a comment on Prop it up asking the author if they could change it but no reply yet. Both buttons can be moved though, click and drag, can't remember which mouse button now. I normally put them just above where Time Warp is on the screenshots above.

Incompatibility between ND and MB - what incompatibility is there? both work for me.
Solar Inferno - 90 Day Hiatus 23 Jun, 2017 @ 1:16pm
I have one more question. Would it be possible for you to include a fix for moon phases, and ultimate eyecandy? I also need to ask if you could create a fix for the incompatibility between Natural Disasters and More Beautification. (Although I'm sure that's up to the mod-maker of MB)
Solar Inferno - 90 Day Hiatus 23 Jun, 2017 @ 12:59pm
Alright, thanks!
hellodave  [author] 23 Jun, 2017 @ 12:58pm
@Ayy
The only mod required to use this is Quartz, link in the right panel. Subscribe to both, enable both, select this skin in the Quartz panel :)
Solar Inferno - 90 Day Hiatus 23 Jun, 2017 @ 12:48pm
Are all mods this supports required, or can it run without all of them, because I just started my game and saw no difference?

Or is a restart required after installing?
hellodave  [author] 13 Jun, 2017 @ 2:52pm
Finally finished updating this :)
hellodave  [author] 20 May, 2017 @ 9:18am
Great work Alex, many thanks, I'll see what I can do about updating this.
AlexM 20 May, 2017 @ 5:18am
Hi, I've fixed Quartz and wanted to let you know if you wanted to update your skin?
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=888017364&searchtext=Quartz+
hellodave  [author] 22 Mar, 2017 @ 11:41am
@tucker.nelson25 I've not used this for quite a while now, but I may just pick it up again now AlexM kindly uploaded a fixed version of Quartz.
Which mods do you need support for?
BitsBytes 21 Mar, 2017 @ 10:05pm
Very clean, interesting but not too complicated. Once this has more mod support I may use it.
hellodave  [author] 23 Mar, 2016 @ 1:12pm
I've updated it, I'll update the description and screenshots later. I've been testing with a fair few mods enabled (51 in all) and I'm getting a few random crashes, I'll hopefully work out why at some point.
hellodave  [author] 23 Mar, 2016 @ 10:25am
I'm watching! And really enjoying them :) Please continue...
An update for the latest patch should be out later today, just need to make a few more buttons :)

TheOne 11 Mar, 2016 @ 12:11am
Hey @Exiri can I put your video up on the Quartz page (Because you are using Quartz :) ) as an example of how the game can look with Quartz skins? :)
Stars 9 Mar, 2016 @ 5:45am
Eh, It's almost finished, the upload will take like 5 hours though so I'm gonna have to find time to actually do that. And I will post the link in my 3 guides, but sure, will post it here as well : )

hellodave  [author] 8 Mar, 2016 @ 11:10am
Hey Xiri, I'm really looking forward to your Let's Play (I must have watched as much footage of CSL as I've played...), can you post a link here when it's done? Just realised I have no way of finding it short of random searches every now and then :)
Stars 29 Feb, 2016 @ 1:31pm
Np man, thanks a hell of a lot for the quick response and fix!
Only other things are minor, like the beforementioned location of the TimeWarp button, but meh. Don't get busy on something minor like that : P

On that note, I shall start my Let's Play series and showoff your awesome UI!

hellodave  [author] 29 Feb, 2016 @ 11:45am
Just updated, turns out they added a few things to Network Extensions since I last played :)
Please do post here if you find anymore issues, or mods that aren't working, I don't play that often but I do check steam for messages.
hellodave  [author] 29 Feb, 2016 @ 4:29am
Thanks for the report Xiri, I'll definitely look at this tonight, at work at the moment.
Stars 29 Feb, 2016 @ 2:33am
Note: the only mod I can think of that interferes with these buttons is Network Extensions Project, Which is the #1 mod and absolutelly essential for anyone :)
Stars 29 Feb, 2016 @ 2:32am
`Not at all working though, Buttons are all over the place, especially the straight-curve-freeform buttons for roads. They are literally BEHIND your UI... Could you look into this asap, when you have some time? I'd love to finish my let's play series (part 1), but waiting for your UI! :D
