your mod really adds the best not overpowered solution for spear infantery to the romans.
only problem when using your mod with several reskins for roman faction, depending on the load order,
is you have grey shields for the units added by you or grey shields for all. a fix would be very nice :-)

The main reason for problems is as follows: new units require modifications to the data tables in order to add them to the game. Sometimes, the structure of a table is changed with an update and it borks everything up. On the other hand, reskins are just text files that act as wardrobes, so they typically aren't affected by updates. If they break, you usually get invisible parts.

I don't update reskins usually, but I always update new units. I tested a Carthage battle with all of the units and there were no apparent problems. You could do 3 things to attempt a fix:

1. Verify Rome II's Steam cache, easily done.
2. Uncheck all mods and see if there's still a problem.
3. Play without my offending mods.

Sometimes, there are conflicts between mods, especially if they're affecting the same stuff. If you have tried running my mods alone and there are still problems, leave another comment detailing the factions and unit, and I'll look into it. Good luck and thanks for trying my stuff!

I am a drunk hobo so excuse me for sounding strange
After I (accidently) bought the Desert, Republic and Divided DLCs on the autumn sale, I noticed something; the units started to be all faceless/grey steelish skinned, missing clothes, same with armor, shields and weapons, while the greek oriented heads were lightened up... I tested around and noticed this was caused by the Inaccurate Balkan and Carthage Reskin and the Additional Roman Unit thingy.
I dunno how this started to conflict, but since I saw some people requesting an update without giving troubleshoot, I thought fuckit.

Personally I wish the Legionary Spear Cohort didnt have capes, cause I like using them for the front line of my formation, with regular cohorts behind them, and I wish they looked uniform, like the Legionary Cohort but armed with spears. Idk just a personal preference of mine. But overall this is an amazing mod!

Ah, that will be the problem then. I will update the text now to reflect that it is tested with patch 18, which introduced additional unit information not present in the previous versions. It is not backwards compatible, I'm afraid.

Just reinstalled, still not working. Is it compatible with update 17? I'm choosing not to run the newest update because I still want to use the Radious mod pack.

This mod works on its own, and I tested it a couple of days ago in response to the previous commenter. There are a number of reasons why it may be failing on your game, the most likely begin a corrupted download, which you can fix by deleting RomeNUP.pack from your ~\Total War Rome II\data folder, then unsubscribing and resubscribing to this mod. It should download a fresh copy. This is all assuming that you have unticked every other mod from the RTW2 loader.

Otherwise, further information is necessary; does the game run, can you load a custom battle, can you see the units in the custom battle roster, and do they load up in battle?

Scratch that. The reskin works fine no matter what else I use. The new units mod won't run even when it's on it's own.

Hi! I like both of your mods, they make the Roman armies look much better, you did a great job! Though there is a problem with them. When I use them seperately, they both work fine, no matter what other mods I have active. It's when I try to load both of them together that the game does not load. Can you think of any reason why this would be happening?

u right, it is coz i use only Brutus Imperials and archers, about formations Brutus Imperials havent any testudo and will be nice if u add both testudo abilities to all mele units and mb smth else like square formation

First of all, all melee units in this mod have formations (shieldwall or defensive testudo). This is easily tested by going into custom battle examining their abilities. Secondly, all units are 160 men, except for the Brutus Imperials (which, as per other special units in the game, are 120) and the archers (which, as per other ranged units in the game, are 120).

Having just tested this a moment ago with no other mods active, I would suggest going back and checking them over again. If there's a problem, check your own active mods first, as there could be conflicts.

and your units doesnt scale of game graphic settings. I play at hightest and all vanila squads have 160 man and your units only 120, fix it plz! and still wana few formations for them)

I am looking into it, but the new update is causing all of my new unit mods to crash the game. The reskins are still functioning I believe.

Yea... you are right. I tracked it done to the Purpura custodies unit mod. This unit has extra abilities and seems to pass them on to a few other units if that mod is enabled first. Bummer cos I really like those unit but will disable it anyway.

I've just tested that unit and it does not have any additional abilities; I installed only this mod. The only abilities added are the defensive testudo and shield wall to the melee units, and the only units available as generals are melee units. I would suggest that it is mod conflict or a bug in the vanilla game, as I've never experienced it with or without mods before.

First of all, thank you! Unfortunately, the skirts are basically there to hide the fact that the trousers and the torso don't line up seamlessly, and I'm afraid I no longer have the tools/files required to change the colours.

If you would like to do it yourself, I believe it's a case of opening up the mod with the package file manager (PFM), opening the variant mesh definitions of the units that are an issue, then removing the tunics before repackaging.

Alternatively, to turn them grey, you can either edit the correct tunic texture (which will change it for all units in the game that use the same tunic) or use the PFM to edit the unit_variants_colours table. It lists the colours in RGB format if I recall correctly, and I think each of the units from the mod are there to easily change at your discretion (same method used to colour the Brutus Imperials).

i love this mod! myonly issue is the late tier romans with look silly with their bright skirts over trousers, would it be possible to make the skirts grey or gone?

Hi ! IS there anyone who is willing to try this and create this. A truly realistic Garrison. A Roman garrison. With moats runt, a good defenses. A new camp garrison. That they can stand on their records in a defense. Yes such a fortress with watchtowers along the long border fences. and where they can splice out-duty arrows against the enemy. romeske soldiers could attack from. Now could the enemies only come if they dare!

Yeah. Once the Cohort research is done, the Triarii drop all their spears and become legionaries :steamsad: The auxilia infantry just don't cut it in vanilla when you're going against heavy/shock cavalry (or even some light cavalries).
