I'll have to take another look at them all again at some point, the Ravage one will definitely need tweaking as I'm sure there will have been a few changes since I last played it..... Which I think might have been something like 3 or maybe even 4 years ago now.

I take back what I said about Sentinel Outbreak II ravage edition as it does still work. But man are the infected dangerous.
Wally_c64 14 Sep, 2021 @ 4:50pm
I found the tanker and parked it near the boat but it didn't refuel. However when I sat in the boat's passenger seat the refuelling started. So its still playable after all these years.:steamhappy:

I just thought I'd give it another go to see if it still worked and so far I haven't had a single issue which is great. I took a swim for laughs really as I've had a hard time finding the tanker truck. Sentinel Outbreak II ravage edition was one of my favourite ravage missions but sadly wasn't working the last couple of times I tried it. Probably due to ravage and game updates. Thanks for the reply.

I'm actually surprised anyone is still playing this, especially as it's well over 5 years old now and using scripts that have more than likely been broken by one of the many Arma 3 patches and updates since initial release.

The versions I released that were made to be used with the Ravage mod on the BIS Forums and Armaholic are vastly superior. Unfortunately Steam doesn't like me posting links to other sites here, but I'm sure you can find them if you look hard enough.

Yes, the sharks only spawn within certain areas and are really just to stop people cheesing the mission by jumping into the sea and swimming across to the evac point as soon as the game starts.
The only way to stop them from attacking is to be inside a vehicle.... *hint* any vehicle will do.
Wally_c64 14 Sep, 2021 @ 4:24am
Yep, there's sharks in the ocean OK. :steamfacepalm:
Captain Robertson  [author] 23 Jan, 2020 @ 1:53pm
There's several different ways of getting to the island safely.
The first is to find the boat at one of the evac points and refuel it using a tanker that spawns randomly at one of the gas stations.
The second is to steal either the helicopter that randomly spawns at one of the military bases, or one of the nearby APC's (They're amphibious).
Or you could go for the semi-hidden method, which is to find some Scuba gear near the western shore opposite that vessel in the ocean, swim over to it then dive down deep to find the mini-sub that was left down there when the outbreak started. :)

Okay, I'll bite (harhar). How do I get to the evac point? I searched every site within reasonable distance for air or water transportation, unsuccessfully. I went to the peninsula SE of the AAC airfield, the closest point to the evac island, and swam (it seemed far away enough from the shark warnings) and was already 90% of the way there (like, 50m to go) when I got killed by a shark.

Please download this from the link in the description above, there seems to be a problem with this not showing up for people who subscribe to it via the steam workshop, no idea why though as the manual installation works fine.

Strange, I've subscribed to this mission yet I can't seem to find it anywhere...

Sorry BandiBai, that sounds like the conflict that Hammy had when he tried to run this mission while having the Decimation mod by Insurrection Gaming installed (ins_code.pbo). I've not looked into it in any great detail, but it looks like the zombie scripts they use aren't compatible with the infected ones that are used in this mission.

Try temporarily disabling that mod when running the mission and see how you get on.

i keep getting an INS_code crash error, and it won't start, any idea how to fix?

Is it possible to use multiplayer on this???
Captain Robertson  [author] 22 Oct, 2015 @ 1:15pm
Yeah, that's both the blessing and the curse of it being random; sometimes you'll spawn right next to an assault rifle with 2 mags and other times you'll struggle to even find a pistol in the first couple of houses you come across... Those outdoor patio/bandstand looking things and the large grey garages are the best for loot as it's based on how many positions units can occupy inside them.

I'm not sure what determines the damage done to cars, the first time I noticed it was when I ran over [SEN]EvilBubba with a hatchback on an unrelated multiplayer mission last month (was an accident, honest, lol) - only to see the debris flying out the front of the car and one of my wheels got wrecked, yet I'd hit people with the car before and it was fine, so I'm not sure if speed was an issue, or if it's something that's just random?
Captain Robertson  [author] 22 Oct, 2015 @ 10:22am
That's just Arma being Arma, if a car gets damaged to the red stage it will sometimes explode unless you get out quickly, combine that with the fact that all the vehicles spawn with random health and running over units causes damage to cars in Arma 3 (remember that the infected will also attack the vehicle if you let them get close enough) means that you're risking disaster every time you try to run people over in anything that's not armoured.... I've only had it happen to me a few times but it was due to being careless.
It's not much of an issue and in a way I actually like it as it stops people from just running over all the enemies they come across without consequence.

P.S. I'm LOVING the random CAPITALISATION you're using to HIGHLIGHT certain words, it reminds me of how JOEY the Robot talks from that old Amiga game called BENEATH A STEEL SKY.

Best,

Found 2 of the ways off myself and 1 possibly 2 from the video. Did not know the Fennec had those capabilities. Do all the ways off involve getting to the small island? Is the 4th way the rebreather and swimming? Still have not been to the southwest side. Keep spawning in the east

I've finished uploading a 4 episode playthrough of this mission, which you can find here:-

Might be useful for anyone that's struggling, or just wants to see one of the 4 methods of escape.
*Warning - Contains some spoilers*

Enjoy!!

Thanks Stormforge,

If there's enough interest in the Altis Edition, then support for modded weapon spawns will certainly be considered for a future update...
Stormforge 5 Sep, 2015 @ 9:37pm
Like both this and the Esseker version, though not a big fan of Arma 3's vanilla weapons. What about adding mod support for RHS, HLC, or whatever? Not require a mod, but if you have it installed it will distibute the weapons and gear. The mission Pilgrimage by Rydygier has this option available and may be a good source of info on how to implement it.

Thanks Buddy!
Yeah I've gone with the simple scripting for the infected for this one, as a result they know where you are and will chase you if you're closer than 160M to them, so you need to be fast or choose isolated buildings first until you've got a good weapon or a vehicle to make a quick escape.

I've experimented with some of the more complex scripts, including a few where the infected respond to gunfire and need to see and/or hear you before they give chase; but I've had trouble getting the scripts to work 100% reliably with all the AI spawned during testing (one script actually caused a massive fps hit when there were more than 10 infected in an area at once, which was a nightmare when fighting them in a town), but it's something I'm working on and hope to have fixed for future versions.

LOVE IT! the only small issue im having is the zombies know where your at at all times so they tend to rush me before i have a chance to loot. Love the mission though Thnak You!
Captain Robertson  [author] 30 Aug, 2015 @ 3:37pm
Fuel truck, one was stolen by the bandits and appears at one of their outposts (it's random on each mission start), but there's also one that randomly spawns at the gas stations of the larger towns... I've just finished testing a newer version that I'll be releasing soon and I ended up starting on the eastern side of the island, and out of sheer luck the 3 things I needed to escape using the boat had all spawned relatively close to each other, so it was all over within an hour, lol.
Plowsy 30 Aug, 2015 @ 12:23pm
great fun!! just one question, how do you refil the boat?
BLooD CReeD 27 Aug, 2015 @ 6:36am
alotta fun bro now i get to play my own episode of "The Walking Dead"
Captain Robertson  [author] 26 Aug, 2015 @ 2:21pm
No addons required for this one at all whatsoever, it's all done with scripts that come with the mission pbo, so anyone can play this with just the standard installation of Arma 3 patched up to the most current version.

This was done by popular request as there were loads of people that wanted to play this mission but either didn't have or couldn't get the game to run with the 3 large mods in the original version for Esseker.

Enjoy!
