The versions I released that were made to be used with the Ravage mod on the BIS Forums and Armaholic are vastly superior. Unfortunately Steam doesn't like me posting links to other sites here, but I'm sure you can find them if you look hard enough.
The only way to stop them from attacking is to be inside a vehicle.... *hint* any vehicle will do.
The first is to find the boat at one of the evac points and refuel it using a tanker that spawns randomly at one of the gas stations.
The second is to steal either the helicopter that randomly spawns at one of the military bases, or one of the nearby APC's (They're amphibious).
Or you could go for the semi-hidden method, which is to find some Scuba gear near the western shore opposite that vessel in the ocean, swim over to it then dive down deep to find the mini-sub that was left down there when the outbreak started. :)
Try temporarily disabling that mod when running the mission and see how you get on.
I'm not sure what determines the damage done to cars, the first time I noticed it was when I ran over [SEN]EvilBubba with a hatchback on an unrelated multiplayer mission last month (was an accident, honest, lol) - only to see the debris flying out the front of the car and one of my wheels got wrecked, yet I'd hit people with the car before and it was fine, so I'm not sure if speed was an issue, or if it's something that's just random?
It's not much of an issue and in a way I actually like it as it stops people from just running over all the enemies they come across without consequence.
P.S. I'm LOVING the random CAPITALISATION you're using to HIGHLIGHT certain words, it reminds me of how JOEY the Robot talks from that old Amiga game called BENEATH A STEEL SKY.

Might be useful for anyone that's struggling, or just wants to see one of the 4 methods of escape.
*Warning - Contains some spoilers*
Enjoy!!
If there's enough interest in the Altis Edition, then support for modded weapon spawns will certainly be considered for a future update...
Yeah I've gone with the simple scripting for the infected for this one, as a result they know where you are and will chase you if you're closer than 160M to them, so you need to be fast or choose isolated buildings first until you've got a good weapon or a vehicle to make a quick escape.
I've experimented with some of the more complex scripts, including a few where the infected respond to gunfire and need to see and/or hear you before they give chase; but I've had trouble getting the scripts to work 100% reliably with all the AI spawned during testing (one script actually caused a massive fps hit when there were more than 10 infected in an area at once, which was a nightmare when fighting them in a town), but it's something I'm working on and hope to have fixed for future versions.
This was done by popular request as there were loads of people that wanted to play this mission but either didn't have or couldn't get the game to run with the 3 large mods in the original version for Esseker.
Enjoy!
