If that doesn't work I'll take a look and see what might have happened, this was updated back in June and uses CUP instead of AiA, so I needed to make a lot of changes to the mission, and the starting area was just the beginning - even the Aircraft Carrier was a mess...

I hope the respective devs haven't changed the terrain again since June, as it'll be a nightmare fixing it all for the 3rd time.

Hi Fox, I think the steam version might be out of date - try the link to this one instead:- {LINK REMOVED}

I started this mission up after throughly enjoying the Esseker edition of the Outbreak series. Unfortunately i am unable to leave the starting area as the exit to the facility is blocked by the ground. It seems that either an update to CUP Chernarus or Arma 3 itself seems to have caused the starting area to be constructed partially into a Hill.

Excellent! I'll add links to the 7Zip versions for the other 2 missions, just in case anyone else has the same problem.

This worked

Sorry Beach Head, both I and two other members of the Sentinel team have just downloaded all three of the mission files again and they all seem to work perfectly, unzipped with no problem at all... I've uploaded this one as a 7Zip file instead of a RAR - try it and let me know how you get on?

I started wondering if it was my computer, so to test it... I just downloaded a different random mod on armaholic, another rar file. It unzipped just fine with no problems. Something has to be wrong?
Zed 22 Jun, 2016 @ 7:05pm
just tried 7zip, said the file may be damaged. I redownloaded it and it did it again. I also tried using "unpacker" from the microsoft store, "RAR opener" and "Zip opener". None of them work and all of them say the same thing. I use unpacker all the time. Never had this problem before.

Gron's just messaged me to let me know that he's managed to unpack it okay using 7Zip and play it with no problems. Just out of curiosity, what programs are you using to unpack it? Have you tried downloading it again, or any of the other missions?
Zed 22 Jun, 2016 @ 4:48pm
I have no idea man. I tried three different programs and none of them would unpack the file. Just letting you know. I played your esseker version of this about six months ago and loved it.
Captain Robertson  [author] 22 Jun, 2016 @ 4:44pm
That's strange, I just tested it out on my side again to see what the issue might be...

Downloaded it, unpacked it using WinRAR, stuck the pbo into the steam/steamapps/common/arma3/missions folder, loaded the game, selected the scenario via the play menu and managed to play it no problem at all.
Zed 22 Jun, 2016 @ 3:58pm
For some reason the file will not unpack on my computer

Please download this mission via the link in the description above, there seems to be a problem with this not showing up for people who subscribe to it via the workshop and I've not been able to figure out why - manual installation works fine though.
Zed 21 Jun, 2016 @ 9:51pm
Mission is not showing for some reason?
LadyVal 18 Jun, 2016 @ 2:53pm
only one problem.there isnt anything wrong with the ai having trouble navigating a building lol thats more of an advantage. (not trying to be rude, things can be misunderstood over text)
Captain Robertson  [author] 12 Jun, 2016 @ 12:03pm
That's this version fixed for Apex/Eden as well now, so the mission will once again appear in the Scenario list, leaving Esseker for last as there's a few new changes I want to add to that one now that the map's been updated.

Speak to the officer in the briefing room and the mission will end.

How does the mission end ? I reached the Carrier
Shulz 26 May, 2016 @ 11:04pm
I cant find it on the scenario, where will this game located ? what OTHER mods are needed ?

Got a rough sketch for a sequel in the works that actually features the return of several main characters from the previous missions... I'm hoping to have it based in Tanoa once it's released, although that may be subject to change.

What do you have planned for a sequel Baraban, if one is being made ofcourse.
Captain Robertson  [author] 15 Dec, 2015 @ 3:56pm
Not been able to replicate that unfortunately, but it sounds like something went wrong with the scripts when you started the game, try restarting to see if that fixes it... Remember that a lot of the buildings in Chernarus tend to be the older non-enterable ones, but weapons, ammo and clothing should still spawn in the doorways, the best locations for loot tend to be the barns and larger structures that you can enter.

Sadly, you can't wear the clothes that the Zombies and Scientists use because of the way that Arma 3 restricts the uniforms that can be worn by the Bluefor and Opfor sides, but you could always roleplay that and pretend that their clothes don't fit you 'etc'.

I've played through it multiple times and never had any trouble with gear or weaponry yet, but if you're still getting stuck, I can post a video to show you where you're most likely to find stuff?
Zed 15 Dec, 2015 @ 12:45am
I played your Esseker mission and though it was outstanding. I played this one, but wandered around for about two hours and never found a single bit of loot anywhere. I kept finding open vehicle that had first aid kits and maps in them, but couldn't find anything else. I also couldn't pick up clothes off of zombies or the dead bodies in the lab starting out, so I spent the entire time running around in my underwear with nothing but the handgun I took off the scientist. Never found ammo.

Yep, a lot of those are actually things I've got planned for the future. The rescuing of survivors is one of the objectives of Outbreak part 2, which I'm planning on releasing next year at some point.

The very first version of Outbreak that we used on our Sentinel private server was a heavily modded survivor rescue co-op one, minus the cool loot and vehicle spawns. I liked it so much I thought "Hey, this is fun maybe I should release something like this as a single player survival horror sandbox style mission to the public." and thus Sentinel - Outbreak was born.

Wouldn't worry to much about it, as that has to do with the game engine and map port.

Have you considered putting in recruitable survivors? Maybe others trying to get home, out of the country, or maybe even a guide. Would go great if you find the BMP or somehow capture the BTR intact. Might up the ante in that case too and give some of the bandits RPGs so they are a bit more of a threat to them. One bandit a camp and maybe some lone random ones? Random vehicle (armed pickup/UAZ) and foot patrols possibly?

This one seemed to have a bit of a different flow to it starting with a pistol and finding a vehicle almost immediately down the hill from the bunker. I started both playthroughs northwest of the main airfield so was well armed pretty quickly. Being that the hangers are now the places to get mass loot.

Just throwing out ideas. Feel free to use all or none. I will be playing this more either way.

Sounds good!

Yeah I've died while trying to climb several stairs too during testing, most of them seem to be from the ported Arma 2 buildings but I've also died from turning around and falling through the roof when standing too close to the edge of the fire station, they're annoying glitches and I'm hoping they might be fixed in a later version of AiA as they're definitely 3D model related.
The only other alternative I can think of is to add invisible walls under the stairs and on the walls/ceilings of the problem structures, but there's just so many of them, especially on maps like Chernarus.
Stormforge 28 Sep, 2015 @ 11:49pm
Had some issues, but all were game and map related, like death after glitch sliding down stairs from 5 ft up. Definitely liked the mission. Found a MD-500 but the troops guarding it blew it up trying to kill me, killing them instead. Then proceeded to Outpost Klen where I found a radio. Only trouble was there was a nice tank sitting there asking to be used, so I explored the map. Found the fuel truck and boat then went to the other military base where a lone soldier I missed killed me. Doh!

Awesome! Will get right on playing testing this.
