what happens if you make 2 male characters in the pool called uniform?

Work with Long war, works with WOTC, works with long war of the chosen :):CoGGangster:

Many people seem to miss the point you should disable the sliders of outfits showing up in the options menu by moving them all to the left.
Otherwise some features might place items over the uniforms. (just reading comments gives this info)

Works fine with vanilla LW2.
Also, y'all need to stop trying to use last-updated-2016 mods in WOTC. 99% of vanilla mods are incompatible with WOTC. If a mod doesn't explicitly mention WOTC in the description save yourself the hassle and just assume it's not going to work and try to find an alternative.
TheMinotar137 12 Jul, 2022 @ 9:39am
i havent been able to get it to work in WOTC, arms are always missing and the slows i have nothing on keeps making random equipment
DronkenWorst 4 Jul, 2022 @ 5:59am
Works perfectly. I only have this mod and long war 2. Don't even need a mod manager.
Eastern_Fox 6 Dec, 2021 @ 7:46pm
This mod just doesn't work, idk why. Only 1 time did the apply button even show up. I've tried everything.

Can confirm it's working in Long War 2 still. If you're like me and have tons of random mods installed and uninstalled regularly, you'll need to clean up your config files before it ever works, which means redoing your Alternative Mod Launcher and Xcom 2 settings. I don't know how necessary each of these steps are, but they are what I did to get it working:

You need AML. Alternative Mod Launcher. If you already had it, delete your jsonsetting in the AML folder. go to doc/mygames/xcom2/xcomgame/config and delete everything--the game will remake all the files automatically on restart. start the game with ONLY character pool uni activated, test if the mod is active by making a uniform that's easily identifiable like shorts/vest/sleeveless/hides hair and starting a new game.
Galactipod 10 Jun, 2021 @ 12:14pm
@Balls Mahoney
It means that the mod is 30 gigabytes when it should only be a megabyte.
DeBlue 4 Dec, 2020 @ 9:42am
Doesn't appear to be working correcly, for one the rookies do not wear whatever I have named a soldier with the last name "Uniform", secondly, the apply uniform feature only shows one character from my entire pool.

Anyone have it working on WOTC as of recently?
Rinnzu 12 Jul, 2020 @ 8:59pm
@cj Yeah it still works. make sure you turned it on in the launcher before you start. also make sure you are naming the LAST NAME "Uniform". Hope this helps.
cj 25 Jun, 2020 @ 11:01am
Does this still work? Can't get it working with LW2 vanilla xcom 2
Smub 13 May, 2020 @ 3:30am
@Iridar What exactly is so terrible about the mod doing this? Will it affect my game in any meaningful way, or is it just bad practice?
innabush 21 Apr, 2020 @ 5:38pm
works perfectly with uniform torso, legs, headgear and arms but unfortunately doesn't save L+R arms, shoulder/forearm gear etc. which many modded armors use
Tiger's Eye 12 Apr, 2020 @ 3:58am
Is there a way to make this mod only apply armor and weapon appearance? So tattoos, facepaint etc. can be randomised?
Iridar 23 Feb, 2020 @ 4:52pm
This mod ships the entire XComGame folder. It REALLY should not be doing that.

@gamedevjosh
If you're still active, please update the mod by removing the XComGame folder from your mod project.
Beagle 11 May, 2019 @ 5:08pm
Need to come here to give thanks. I've used this mod my entire XCOM 2 life and I couldn't live without it.
Cpt. Bratwurst 3 May, 2019 @ 10:07am
mostly the mod works but there are some problems with the accessories .. like shoulders, glasses, scarves
FinaL 30 Mar, 2019 @ 8:19am
Nevermind, restarting the game seemed to fix the problem...
FinaL 30 Mar, 2019 @ 8:18am
I can't set ALL randomized chances to minimum because they reset when I press "save settings". Someone knows why?
Tiger's Eye 21 Feb, 2019 @ 12:40pm
I use this with WotC and the difference between working and not working for me was putting all the randomized chances for DLC gear in the gameplay options to a minimum.
/dev/null 25 Feb, 2018 @ 11:05pm
Works flawlessly with LW and Vanilla game, prefer this over the more cumbersome uniform manager mod. This way I can just set up my character pool with the uniforms. The only issue is the uniform characters being pulled into the game (happens even with full random turned on, when you are given someone to rescue or recruit in long war 2).
Stabbity Style 31 Aug, 2017 @ 7:41pm
Ingame buttons aren't working with WOTC. Also, sometimes random stuff isn't getting applied properly, have had a few random soldiers with non-uniform arms. Also didn't save having the goggles equipped, so random eyewear has popped up.
doubloon time 31 Aug, 2017 @ 4:22pm
V It is mostly broken but has some remaining functions
The in-game buttons are missing, but it is still successfully outfitting my starting rookies and that's good enough for me.
doubloon time 30 Aug, 2017 @ 3:10pm
It probably wont i will test it later
Calpha 30 Aug, 2017 @ 9:42am
Anyone know if this works with WOTC?
Lasagna-conda 26 Aug, 2017 @ 9:19pm
i cant seem to get it to work, i made a male and female character with the last names Uniform but when i start a new game the randomized characters are still random, without the uniform i set up.
Portico 31 May, 2017 @ 3:19am
Is this mod compatible with Allies Uknown?
Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin 7 Feb, 2017 @ 3:41pm
Excellent mod, really useful for when you don't want half of Gatecrasher in shorts.
BelowTheSun 22 Jan, 2017 @ 1:15pm
Did this ever work with the new options added by Anarchy's Children? When I create uniforms using that arms/forearms system of that DLC, they either appear invisible or go back to the default arms when soldiers spawn in game. Known problem, lack of update, or something wrong on my end?
Chrom 20 Jan, 2017 @ 7:33am
@doodl38ug Thanks buddy!
DOODL38UG 19 Jan, 2017 @ 2:11pm
I can confirm it is working for me whilst using LW2. If it does not show up on your mod list at the start hit the refresh button and it should appear. You need to have both a female & male character called "unifrom" in your character pool. then when you view soldiers & customise them scroll to the bottom and hit apply uniform.
Chrom 19 Jan, 2017 @ 1:05pm
Sadly, doesn't seem to work anymore. Or maybe it's LW2 causing it. Or one of my 452 other mods. Regardless, miss it. Such a simple, graceful way to handle the uniform concept.
DOODL38UG 16 Jan, 2017 @ 11:24am
@goodfoot I think the "Uniform Manager" mod may be what you're looking for there.
Dragon32 1 Dec, 2016 @ 11:32am
There's a ~40MB XComGame.u file sitting in:
Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\268500\619905919\Script

At a guess that's core, vanilla game scripts from the pre-Alien Hunters patch. At another guess that file will get automatically loaded and, applying guesses on top of guesses, those old script functions are going to override new ones and bad things(TM) could happen.

Or am I completely wrong there?

As well as there being the previously mentioned ~16MB of unneeded vanilla game script files in 619905919\SRC
Crazy War Hero 2 Aug, 2016 @ 7:07pm
Thanks for the mod. It's awesome! I was wondering if there could be a way to make a specific uniform for specific classes (either as a part of this mod or a new mod). It would be awesome if you could. I just want to use different pieces for each class but the same colors and armor pattern. The mod is great as is, but if there was a way you could add that in it would be great.
Epictedious 16 Jul, 2016 @ 10:09pm
Howdy! This mod is amazing and I could never play XCOM 2 without it anymore. I am having one problem though - complex arm-pieces such don't show up on soldiers. It will give me an arm-less soldier that shows up in my barracks whenever they are saved with any sort of Anarchy's Children configurations, Titanfall arms, and most recently the XCOM EU/EW ports arms (basically any arms that you need to individually choose). Is there any sort of fix for this or am I doing something wrong?
Aerrie 6 Jul, 2016 @ 4:09am
For anyone still having the geoscape and squad select low FPS problem: download Alternate Mod Launcher (not available on Steam mods) and search for mod conflicts and delete the conficting mods. For me it was Character Pool Uniforms and a few voice packs, also 2x Example Voice Pack (do not even know what the hell that is). Went from 12 FPS in Geoscape to 145 FPS and from 12 FPS in squad select to 40 FPS (still could be higher, but acceptable). Amazingly, my in-battle FPS went up from 45 to 75.
saximaphone 29 Jun, 2016 @ 5:15pm
Ok after testing it, it appears voices and nationality don't carry over.
Apparently some arms and face props don't either.
Is there a plan to include these later?
saximaphone 29 Jun, 2016 @ 2:12pm
I have 2 questions:
Does voice, nationality, class, etc carry over?
Does disabling a character as a soldier in character pool solve the problem with them showing up as 'Mr. Uniform'?
Insufferable Smartypants 13 May, 2016 @ 5:08pm
I went and verified game files, unsubscribed and re-subbed and it's working again for me.
Evaen 13 May, 2016 @ 2:36pm
@Insufferable Smartypants I think it might have, the Apply Uniform button is no longer there for me after installing the DLC.
Insufferable Smartypants 12 May, 2016 @ 12:56pm
I started a new game today with the Alien Hunter's DLC running, and my newbie soldiers were all geared up in crazy outfits again.

Did the new patch or DLC break this mod?

@Aetherlift - If you have another mod that overrides XGCharacterGenerator, it's probably stopping this one from working.

---

Oh man, I was using this mod a few days ago just fine, but it isn't working anymore for me. After reading your comment I searched for this file in my mods folder and I noticed a lot of the mods I use modifies XGCharacterGenerator.

Here's the list:

Load from Character Pool
Capnbubs Accessories Pack
Expanded Callsigns and Nicknames
MEC Voice Pack
All Armor Options

One thing that you might want to look into adding is the upper/lower face props and weapon camo to the uniform, maybe with a config toggle if that isn't too difficult or as a seperate mod. Cause I know that I have a uniform that includes an upper face prop (the ballistic goggles from Catnbubs acc. pack) that I want applied, but it doesn't apply to to my characters on generation and applying the uniform through the UI. Same with weapon camos. It gets really annoying the have to go in and apply that to all my soldiers.
Ryusho Yosei 21 Feb, 2016 @ 2:15pm
Thinking about it, I think one thing that could be done, as another possible alteration I mean, would be so you could put in if a costume could work on all genders, Rather then having to make one precisely for male, an d precisely for female.

aetherlift 19 Feb, 2016 @ 9:29pm
It doesn't seem to work for me... like the rookies still just come in random armor. The actual in game part works though.
Ryusho Yosei 18 Feb, 2016 @ 10:46pm
Also I just used this to make all my females "Scout Troopers" and all my males Storm Troopers in a current test pl ay, finding it hilarious.
