I think it looks pretty great for how the lighting works in this engine. Would be nice if this got merged into the mod.

"i know how metal works" - you mean in source? You can't really clarify what metal is. Its a bunch of options, specular/glossiness, metalness (not in source) etc as far as i know.

Specular brightness around 35, plus it has very complex contrast with scratches etc.

If you have more experience with that, then just try adjusting it yourself, until it looks perfect - so we can see the difference

Also ive already mentioned that stg44 and k98 are placeholder models with empty normal map. They will look ugly no matter what, either unlit or too shiny.

Does this look less "plastic" ? Specular is much brighter but with bigger contrast. Its HLMV tho, in game it looks unlit unless you place it directly under the light source...

No,i know how metal works and for me the gun is like a plastic toy,every single shine that hits it makes it glow brightly and it doesent look like metal only if its in dark

Well im not sure what do you mean, because it looks fine to me. "Mirror effect" - $envmaptint . There is no difference between this or ins guns they all have same shader, phong and specular which doesnt affect surface material...they can only have various intensity/brightness. There is no such thing as plastic. You probably don't realise how material work?

Thats not true,if they would i wouldnt tell you what i did.Most of the guns have metalic feel to it.You can see it very well when the light hits the gun,or that it doesent have "mirror effect" like a piece of plastic toy.These ones does,i dont know why but they do and it would be nice to fix it.I repear myself if you would fix it these would be the best DOI mods so far.

For all of your DOI weapon retextures you should make a fix because the metarial of the metal looks like shiny plastic instead of metal.If you do that,these addons will be the best.

I dunno. This one (like the other half of DOI guns) is a placeholder untill we make a new proper models. Its just a highpoly with 35k tris...some weird geometry, no normal maps. Most placeholders has no specular, 0 phong, so they look really weird
