Additional Dark Events: More Casual Edition

I'm running a heavily modded game including LWOTC and I'm almost certain this mod was the culprit for a consist crash issue I was facing. The game failed to activate both the "_SuperUFO" and "_AP Rounds" Dark Events, which I think come from this mod. Deleting the Dark Events solved my issue.

Running both this and and Extended Dark Events [Vanilla] , both showed up without conflict.

Is there any known incompatibilities with other Dark Event mods?

There are probably some that like some of the dark events but not all. It would be nice to have mod config support so that players can choose which events they desire. It would also allow disabling just one event in the case of an event not working properly.

Carelessly, I installed this without noticing it doesn't support WotC. I can confirm that it does not.

Is there a way to select which of the Dark Events in this pack are enabled? I'm interested in facing Berserkers outside of Terror missions, but only in groups of one, and I can't say I'm fond of facing the other events.

I've been using it with LW2. I haven't noticed any problems. I just got the Advanced UFO Hunter event a day or two ago.

If that doesn't work verify game files using Steam
If that doesn't work... um... unsubscribe from all mods, verify again.

Any idea how to force the game to rebuild its config folder? I deleted everything in it and now my mod launcher crashes.

Just want to check something. Just finished the Avenger defence, minutes later I get the dark events popup, and one of them is your Advanced UFO. Does this mean multiple defence missions?

I had a look through the comments for this and the main version, didn't find an answer.

@test in the middle of a playthrough with it, eveything seems fine.

Thanks for fixing the Advanced UFO Hunter event, and the mod in general. Finished a campaign with this enabled and it really added to the whole experience: more decisions about which guerilla missions to go on, more variety in the nefarious activity that ADVENT are getting up to. Great stuff.

BTW, I posted about a couple of typos which weren't corrected in the latest update. Posts by me 15 May @ 1:25pm and 20 Apr @ 7:53pm; but those times are probably for my time zone... Hopefully you can find them.

Is there a way for the user to get this to work with Better advent..i.e. turning off the pod related dark events that conflict with ABA?

@±Knifey12 Finally got around to checking on this, I'm going need to override XComGameState_UFO to fix it (the game only checks for the vanilla UFO dark event when a UFO despawns) but since that has yet to be touched by any other mod, I'll go ahead with that plan.

The fix won't be retroactive unfortunately, but it should prevent it from happening again.

Everything was going swimmingly until the event about the alien ship hunting the Avenger that was guaranteed to shoot us down, then I developed a freeze in geoscape when that event is supposed to trigger.

Took me a long while to figure out what was causing the freeze, and nothing I did could get around it until I unsubbed from this mod - then once I got to the date and time of the freeze, a blank Dark Event card jumped up on the screen, and I was able to proceed.

I am not showing any conflicts in the mod loader, but my skills in this department are purely beginner level so I could easily be missing something.

Should the title be "Casual" instead of "Causal?" Made me think the mod was to have Dark Events be "caused" by certain things.

Just on my persistent Advanced UFO Hunter Dark Event, it's now April 2036 in game and the event is still active. So ~8 months now.

I had a normal UFO Hunter come after me (I was able to dodge it) without receiving an ingame notification about that being an active Dark Event.

I saw the term 'RNGesus' in the mod description and pissed myself laughing. That alone deserves a Rate Up. Nice mod, will certainly provide some fun times and replayability. Thank you :)

Not sure if you've seen this problem which someone encountered with doing an Avatar autopsy early: XCOM 2 - (Potential Game Bug and a Request for help) Examine the Avatar (SPOILER) [forums.nexusmods.com].

Appears to be a game-breaking bug if someone autopsies an Avatar before they should do.

So, looking at my save files and based on my previous post's date I had the Avenger Defence mission sometime before ~ 20th September 2035. In game it's now 25th November 2035 and the Advanced UFO Hunter Dark Event is still active. I'll kepp an eye on things.

No biggie.

Curses, was going to report back on the Advanced UFO Hunter event... Still think it's active but I'm not sure how much in-game time has passed (work really gets in the way of gaming...)

I got the Advanced UFO Hunter Dark Event some in-game weeks ago, they shot down my Avenger (boo!) but I blew up their spike (yay!). Now, however, Advanced UFO Hunter persists as being listed in the current Dark Events list.

Is this intentional? Or will it clear (after some more weeks time) from the active list. I haven't seen a UFO searching for me since then, so I'm not sure if I roll a standard UFO hunter whether it will automagically be upgraded to the Advanced variety.

Really nice mod, btw. The original version made me go "No way! Uh uh. No way, man. Game over." when I read its description. This version is more my cup of tea. Thanks!

In theory yes, I *believe* you would need to subscribe to this second so any changes this mod makes would overwrite the same events the regular version has, but it's been a while since I checked exactly how the game handles conflicts between mods.

Thinking of another dark event: Some kind of hunter squad. On every mission for a month a specialist group of Xcom hunters will be deployed on every mission.

I would imagine the squad would be comprised of Elite borderline suicidal Advent units whom soul purpose in life is to hunt down and destroy Xcom soldiers. Maybe literally suicide bombers? Or just unique looking Elite troopers?

Would it be possible to make a Dark Event that prevents X blocks of Avatar progress from being removed? You could safely ignore them early, but what happens if you've been ignoring those Dark Events in favor of others and now 10/12 of those blocks can't be removed?
