So does this mod work with the updated game?
Kaitsja 27 Oct, 2017 @ 3:10am
The moment I saw "Likes Dwarves" after I literally just conquered a dwarven settlement, I knew I had to get a mod to get rid of stupid traits like that.
AIAIA  [author] 18 Oct, 2017 @ 9:34am
@Lampros, unfortunately not at the moment as I don't own WH2 and due to other commitments, I won't really have time for it.
Lampros 18 Oct, 2017 @ 6:16am
Is there a current or planned WH 2 version of this mod?
AIAIA  [author] 16 Aug, 2017 @ 8:06pm
Unfortunately, I'm unable to verify this right now as I'm holding off from the pre-purchase of TWWH:II and don't own the Norsca dlc. It still works for the other factions though.
visceraltwist 16 Aug, 2017 @ 6:59pm
Is this good to go with Norsca? Love the mod btw!
iamshinyman 26 Jul, 2017 @ 7:34am
The moment I saw "likes chaos" I knew these stupid random penalties needed to go.
AIAIA  [author] 10 Jul, 2017 @ 4:32am
@Goliath, Did the likes undead trait trigger with this mod active ? It shouldn't as those should have been commented out from the script.
Goliath 10 Jul, 2017 @ 4:03am
The most annoying bit is when I get a "likes undead" trait after defeating an undead army ...

I really wish all the factions had an option to get rid of those traits like the Bretonnians do.

Defcon1 15 May, 2017 @ 4:20pm
no no AIAIA all is good, really liking the mod, i hated "like" greenskins couldn't understand why they would occur, its a great mod ty
Lampros 15 May, 2017 @ 2:29pm
This mod is f-king amazing. Many kudos.
AIAIA  [author] 15 May, 2017 @ 1:52pm
@Defcon1, is there a problem with the traits triggering ? All the likes <race> traits should never trigger, only the hates and fears could trigger.
Defcon1 15 May, 2017 @ 11:48am
ty i like greenskins.......NOT
Ghost 15 Mar, 2017 @ 7:41am
Thanks, I'll check how that works out next time I play Bretonnia again
AIAIA  [author] 15 Mar, 2017 @ 4:58am
For the fix for the Bretonnia specific traits. I've had to add a seperate mod to keep things modular as that file deals with only Bretonnia which other modders may end up touching. This also allows mod packs to pick and choose in a cleaner way.

traits_dlc7.pack (see the change notes for what traits triggers are removed)
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=883990872

That is a complimentary mod to this one. (you can use both together)
AIAIA  [author] 15 Mar, 2017 @ 4:30am
@Ghost, thanks, I'll give the game files another look over the weekend. For the triggers file in this mod, I'm 100% sure that the bad traits caused by sitting in a city for too long have been removed. You may be right that they could have placed the trigger/event into another script file elsewhere. Again resolution only after I had the time to scan the files properly.
Ghost 14 Mar, 2017 @ 12:47pm
I should add that other than the new DLC traits, your mod is working perfectly
Ghost 14 Mar, 2017 @ 12:46pm
Hey, I only started the Bretonnia campaign on the 11th with your last mod update on the 6th, so not sure about that - also, other mods that claim to fix the issue have it too, so maybe it is in a completely different subfile that noone has figured out yet?
AIAIA  [author] 14 Mar, 2017 @ 8:07am
@Ghost, for the procrastinator trait, it should be fixed (was late for this so this could have triggered before the previous update)

I'm kinda hesitant to remove the Abducter as it makes complete sense (got to release or kill from time to time)
Ghost 11 Mar, 2017 @ 8:07am
Also got Abducter negative trait for ransoming captives
Ghost 11 Mar, 2017 @ 7:33am
Getting Procrastinator on a new Carcassonne campaign after parking a lady in a settlement
DrDCB 8 Mar, 2017 @ 4:50am
I don't think I have a save that far back to check, but from memory it was full stack going up against a level 2 or 3 minor settlement garrison. It was a nothing battle, so I just auto-resolved it. It was a decisive victory, he hadn't lost any or ran away in that battle or prior.
AIAIA  [author] 8 Mar, 2017 @ 4:04am
There must have been a case where the General in question must have lost and possibly escaped, i.e it only triggers for the general involved in the battle. Is this not the case ?
DrDCB 8 Mar, 2017 @ 3:58am
On a loss I can understand maybe (although it makes little sense to fear your own race), but I won the battle. It was just some tiny garrison force that were wiped out by a full stack.
AIAIA  [author] 8 Mar, 2017 @ 3:44am
@Avenger93, I just comment away the triggers that I don't want to keep this mod as non intrusive as possible, the challenge is that whenever there is a major patch the new script file is jumbled up making comparison quite a chore. (lazy CA devs can't be bothered to at least do some alphabetical sort before generating the script files.).

Feel free to unpack the traits.pack to look at the changes (not hard but just a pain in the ass with almost 4000 lines in the script file)
AIAIA  [author] 8 Mar, 2017 @ 3:36am
@DrDCB, that is intended though, I left the hate and fear traits intact and only remove the love <race> traits. This trait should only trigger with a serious battle lost (crushing and above)
DrDCB 8 Mar, 2017 @ 3:10am
I played a full Von Carstein campaign with no negative traits popping up. However on a new Empire campaign I have had a single negative trait appear. It was when a general was fighting an Empire Secessionist army. Post-battle he got a "Fears Humans" trait (-10 leadership vs humans).
Avenger93 8 Mar, 2017 @ 12:39am
So, quick question: do you actualy delete the trait entries or did you just rewrite the triggers?
Wulfrik 6 Mar, 2017 @ 12:12pm
Thank you very much, this mod is essential :)
AIAIA  [author] 6 Mar, 2017 @ 8:41am
@Wulfric, It should be fixed now (I think), It was a post battle trigger which is weird.

Also removed are some of the Likes <race> triggers which were newly inserted.
Wulfrik 5 Mar, 2017 @ 11:44am
Still getting Procrastinator with Bretonnia, is that an oversight or should I start looking for a conflicting mod?
LifeIsHard 2 Mar, 2017 @ 11:50am
Thank you AIAIA
AIAIA  [author] 2 Mar, 2017 @ 4:37am

LifeIsHard 1 Mar, 2017 @ 5:04pm
Update pls
AIAIA  [author] 18 Feb, 2017 @ 7:25pm
@Monty, the designers of pretty much all total war games have always used these negative traits as an anti steamroll balancer for the player but this approach is fundamentally irritating

What I think they should do however is to give the AI more income as the player grows in strength which can smooth out the difficulty curve nicely in the late game. (early game is tough but late game becomes too easy)
monti 18 Feb, 2017 @ 11:44am
What's untrustworthy about executing a bunch of undead? Thanks for this mod.
epicbod 9 Feb, 2017 @ 8:50pm
I'd executed plenty of Orcs before even subbing this so that's probably it. Thanks. Just started a new game anyway after rechecking this.. I'll let you know if it happens again.
AIAIA  [author] 9 Feb, 2017 @ 4:24am
Could you also check that the checkbox for the mod is enabled in Mod manager (it should turn green). The mod is not retroactive but that particular trait can be reversed by releasing prisoners post battle (25% chance of neutralizing the trait)
AIAIA  [author] 9 Feb, 2017 @ 4:08am
Ok thanks @epicbod, did you by any chance execute all the prisoners in the post battle screen ?
There is only one trigger for this trait and has a 25% chance of triggering on slaughter. (this is commented out though so I'm actually not able to pinpoint how this got triggered).
epicbod 8 Feb, 2017 @ 11:31am
Here's a screen - https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=859830145 This trait appeared really early on.. like turn 10. No broken alliances or treaties.
AIAIA  [author] 8 Feb, 2017 @ 4:47am
@epicbod, when you say untrustworthy, is that from the diplomacy screen ? There are no changes from the Grombrindal DLC which can cause this. The untrustworthy description from the diplomacy screen is not a trait but a side effect when alliances and treaties are broken, It will recover over time as long as you don't break any agreements in the meantime
epicbod 7 Feb, 2017 @ 6:49pm
Got an "untrustworthy" Grombrindal - White Dwarf... Lol. I tried adding this but no go. unbecoming of any Dwarf much more a living legend.
AIAIA  [author] 13 Dec, 2016 @ 8:20am
Good to hear :), do post if you encounter any bad negative traits (circumstances would also be helpful i.e General/Agent in city / enemy territory)
Wailing 13 Dec, 2016 @ 8:15am
Yeah I actually forgot to mention after my last comment that I went and tested it without the mod and it still occurred. No conflicts with the mod itself!

Just played another WE campaign and the traits good now!
AIAIA  [author] 13 Dec, 2016 @ 3:37am
Yeah @Paranoiac, I just realized that this mod only affects traits that agents and generals pick up along the way, the initial spawned traits are controlled by either the junctions tables or some other script file. For those it's probably something that CA needs to fix.
Paranoiac 12 Dec, 2016 @ 4:00pm
Just to chime in here about the traitless Branchwraiths, that seems to be an issue inherent to the DLC, not your mod. Even a clean install with no mods has them show up with no traits on creation sometimes. Thank you for the mod, by the way
AIAIA  [author] 11 Dec, 2016 @ 6:45pm
No worries @Yanmo, I actually appreciate the feedback and bug reports as I'm not able to actively play or playtest everything.
Wailing 11 Dec, 2016 @ 6:03pm
@AIAIA Thanks! I wouldn't be commenting if this wasn't my favourite mod for the game!
Extra respect for sharing something for the players who share your mindset of absolutely hating negative trait triggers and - most of all - keeping it updated so well! :)
AIAIA  [author] 11 Dec, 2016 @ 3:17pm
@Yanmo, I've updated the mod, it should deal with the Fearful, Unjust and Untrustworthy triggers (non-faction specific triggers). I've actually left the wood elves specific traits alone so for now I can say for sure why the Branchwraiths are have blank traits.
