it's possible to add a restriction to biotic class and psi op to salarians?
Dęąth Viper 23 May, 2017 @ 7:27pm
found it. its in the top right corner of the screen after you click recruit.

Where is the recruit button for these guys??

So i recently got this mod and have been taking salarians for a few missions. but i noticed that ready for anything wasn't always triggering. after testing this a bit it seems that overwatch only applies when you hit your target. is this an intended feature? Because from reading the ability description this does not seem to be the case

Much appreciated, funny enough I only just now noticed the "Alien Recruits" button.. xD
Alpha the Mage 14 Dec, 2016 @ 10:31am
@Militus: I know what you mean. You need the invisible face from the faces category.I can recommend you 3 fixes for your problem: 1-change the sex of the character; 2-change armor type-heavy or spider; or 3-download the krogan, salarian, asari, turian (if you use it), and tali squad mates from kexx. That will fix the problem of faces, arms and so on. Hope this helps.

Hey Alpha and thanks for the reply, but I cannot get it to work right for any species? For the Krogans I have no chest I think, so they look small.. But my main problem is that there will be human head, with a Salarian mask, not a proper Salarian. I can make my own I suppose, but how? The faces of base humans are always there, so it just looks like they're wearing a mask? o:

@Militus Immortalis: sometimes you get the full alien, sometimes the humanoid version or something in between. You can customise him as you see fit (hands, torso, legs, face). You can even have a human with salarian skills.

Hey there,

I don't quite get how this works. Is it new recruits that have the full Salarian armour and face, or? I have the ME3 squadmates too, and all of the ME alien races I can get. I only get an occasional face pasted on a human face, and otherwise armour, but never a full 'alien'. Thanks in advance.

Upon heading into the character pool screen, the Mordin I'd previously made had gone horribly wrong and somehow turned into some sort of muton, but the new one does indeed have his special ability out of the box. Sorry for sowing doubt!
RealityMachina  [author] 30 Nov, 2016 @ 7:00pm
Just to double check, you have sent Solus on a mission to confirm he doesn't have his abilities, correct?
Arkenor 30 Nov, 2016 @ 6:58pm
Ah, I see. So that'd be why the Mordin Solus I make in my character pool doesn't get them. I guess I have to modify one I get in-game.
RealityMachina  [author] 30 Nov, 2016 @ 6:57pm
@arkenor Yes, their bonuses are tied to what they are, not what class they have.
Arkenor 30 Nov, 2016 @ 6:14pm
I use a mod which lets me change a character's class if their randomly assigned class is not to my liking. Will they keep their Salarian bonuses provided they've already graduated out of Salarian Rookie into a regular class?
kenanthebarbarian 27 Nov, 2016 @ 5:59pm
Thanks for the clarification!
RealityMachina  [author] 27 Nov, 2016 @ 5:38pm
Reflexes should appear in missions, but not in the Armory. XCOM's very specific about what abilities can be appear in the summary, and abilities assigned to the character template won't be shown a lot of the time.
kenanthebarbarian 27 Nov, 2016 @ 5:36pm
I see. So, before I changed the class, should the "Salarian Reflexes" perk have showed up with the Shinobi abilities, or is that something they spec into later? I didn't see that perk, which is what made me think there was an error with the class.
Arkhangel 27 Nov, 2016 @ 5:10pm
@Ken: which means.... he is a Salarian Shinobi.

Salarian = Race, not class.
RealityMachina  [author] 27 Nov, 2016 @ 4:57pm
The issue is that you turned it from a class that's supposed to be used to a class that isn't supposed to be used. The _____ rookie classes are intended to be rookie equivalents (and so characters can be pulled from the character pool if they're made), not actual classes to be used in of themselves.
kenanthebarbarian 27 Nov, 2016 @ 4:53pm
I got a Salarian recruit from a scanning site, and when I went to the roster, it showed up as a Shinobi (using LW Perk Pack, of course). I have the Commander's Choice mod installed, so I was able to change to the "Salarian Rookie" class, but it has no soldier abilities and still has a sword on its back. I'm guessing it isn't supposed to work like that, so what could the issue be? (Commander's Choice being one obvious possibility.)
Alpha the Mage 21 Nov, 2016 @ 7:53pm
I found a bug with the salarian and korgan races: when a soilider has only 1 hp left and his will is zero, after completing a mission to restore it, his will is only 5 or 6 and it doesnt't go to the original 40 or 55.
Arkhangel 21 Nov, 2016 @ 2:33pm
@Ypear: well, Harvesters wouldn't be on out side :P the Falling Skies guys would be cool though.
W1ldf1re 20 Nov, 2016 @ 1:33am
just a curiousity has anyone thought of making a Falling Skies or Independence Day mod for Xcom 2 ???
Cauldron~Born 18 Nov, 2016 @ 1:56pm
@RealityMachina - thanks for the reply. I had to create the chars from scratch because it gave them an involuntary gender swap, messed with how they look, etc but I managed to make it stick. Many thanks. :)
Xiziax 17 Nov, 2016 @ 8:36pm
Ah, okay. No problem. Thanks for the swift response!
RealityMachina  [author] 17 Nov, 2016 @ 7:15pm
@Xiziax No that would my fault, I had to re-write it since it was originally not working at all, and I most likely made a logic error.
Xiziax 17 Nov, 2016 @ 7:07pm
Hi. I love these mods. I'm having a strange issue with the Solarian race's special ability, though. When I use Ready For Anything, it puts the overwatch on the target and not the shooter.

Could that be caused by a conflict with another mod?

Thanks.
RealityMachina  [author] 17 Nov, 2016 @ 12:23pm
@Cauldron~Born You can give them the [alien] Rookie classes so the game will know to spawn them as an alien in the character pool, but you can't really switch them mid-game with a Commander's Choice mod.
Cauldron~Born 17 Nov, 2016 @ 12:04pm
Query - if I have make a charpool character, is there any way to give them the Allies Unknown classes without it causing my game to break? Or to swap a starting soldier to have the Allies Unknown classes without something weird happening to their health? I started with a Krogan in my Gatecrasher squad and wanted to make him a Krogan, but the game didn't like it...

Thanks, and keep up the great work. :)
Insufferable Smartypants 16 Nov, 2016 @ 11:19am
Outstanding!
This makes me so happy. :-)
Arkhangel 16 Nov, 2016 @ 10:44am
"Hold the line!"
Evil_Kitty 16 Nov, 2016 @ 6:22am
nice one, i was using humans looking salarians
Kexx 15 Nov, 2016 @ 10:56pm
Was wondering when this one would pop up. Thanks for making these, they're awesome! Looking forward to Quarian Allies!
MantLemon 15 Nov, 2016 @ 9:46pm
I guess Allies Unknown is also a must?
