a third floating ak-47 magazine keeps appearing and disappearing unexpectedly, but otherwise, this is still a good mod
Bitz 24 Jan, 2022 @ 11:02am
Anyways, that stuff aside, there is one bug I saw which is very unoticeable unless you have a bigger muzzle flash mod, but is still noticeable without it,
The third person muzzle flash actually is turn about 90 degrees to the left.
Bitz 15 Jan, 2022 @ 12:12pm
This is hands-down the best animated AK I've ever seen, seriously it is spectacular.
That aside, I'm fine with the cookie-cutter animations since most of them don't really need to change and work for any weapon, (shove, draw, etc.) but the only one that does not sit well with me is the idle animation, it makes me feel like a robot, I don't know, something about it is just wrong.
im a loser 19 Mar, 2021 @ 10:40am
guys can yall tell me how to fix this error of the laser on the side
Kahram 15 Jan, 2021 @ 10:22am
Well, you did it. You made me swap out Millenia's AK w/ HyperMetals anims.

It's been years. But it's finally happened.

Beautiful AK

someone made a version of this mod where the AK had black furniture and replaced the m16, but i can't find it anymore. do you know what mod that is?
kalahbash 9 Oct, 2020 @ 1:39pm
Welp, I'm not sure if you'll see this but it's an amazing mod! Kudos to you :D

Whenever I switch to the AK47 my game crashes every time.
Warpath-The-Laughing-Swordfish 9 Jul, 2019 @ 11:03am
@Moon Moon , while it might look like a 5.45 its actually a Tapco 7.62
Moon Moon 27 Apr, 2019 @ 3:15am
I like it. Could you make a version with 7.62mm Rounds and magazines? Cause that's the 5.45mm.
yashka64 8 Apr, 2019 @ 10:50pm
my game crashes when switching AK with another gun
Mr. Undead 12 Dec, 2018 @ 8:23pm
How about 1 for the Scar?
DropKickedMurphy 4 Sep, 2018 @ 5:02pm
gun is good, but i have a distaste of flippity doodah mag reloads on aks.
[Clymer Pirate] 11 Jun, 2018 @ 11:08pm
@#!/trigger_hurt After reloading the gun and shove, It make a bit of reloading sound after shoving. However the sound glitch goes away after switching weapon. Please fix, it's almost perfect.
Squady 23 May, 2018 @ 4:01am
i have missing textures ? why
{OGR}Jaybird5678 19 Jan, 2018 @ 1:44pm
Does using another ak-47 skin work with this or does it just flat out not work?
SgtSockMango 21 Dec, 2017 @ 11:08pm
Love it!!! Angle is just right.
Eery Jan 17 Sep, 2017 @ 12:47am
The fact you mention "Melee, Items and infected claws" makes me wanna get stuck in a coma for a good two years to see what else you've made while I was gone.
Frale00 15 Sep, 2017 @ 6:37am
dont work with skins

the shoving animation seems more realistic, i like that
HedyL #RememberPortal 1 Sep, 2017 @ 12:40am
Origin feels weird and for some reason flashlight seems comically large. Nice try, though.
Spoony 28 Aug, 2017 @ 5:28am
Also, I just tested the new origin and I think it's pretty spot on.

Can't wait to see what weapon you release next!
Spoony 27 Aug, 2017 @ 4:34pm
It's my pleasure really.

Nearing 2K hours on this game after years of playing it and I'm just glad someone is still putting in the time and effort to improve the standards of the animations/viewmodels that Valve kinda dropped the ball on when the game shipped.

Also that's pretty damn impressive, but I suppose I wouldn't worry too much about sticking to the 51 FOV if it's too much of an obstacle when all your animations are gonna be part of a set anyway.

But definitely looks damn close to the CS viewmodel which is also more similar to your blender render, so good job!
CTriggerHurt  [author] 27 Aug, 2017 @ 4:21pm
Once I get the origin down, I'm gonna upload the changes, and then record some demo footage in-game to showcase the animations, as the rendered previews don't do it justice.
CTriggerHurt  [author] 27 Aug, 2017 @ 4:15pm
Alright, after tinkering with it some, I got it about as close as I'm gonna get it.
https://puu.sh/xl6xs/ab60d34e42.jpg
Comparing it to the screenshot in CS:GO:

CTriggerHurt  [author] 27 Aug, 2017 @ 3:38pm
Okay, wow, CS:GO's default viewmodel FOV is actually 60. A whole nine degrees wider than L4D2... That will be difficult to match without looking off. I'll still try to get it close, though. The last thing I want to do is ask people to change their FOV to make my little mod work.
CTriggerHurt  [author] 27 Aug, 2017 @ 3:30pm
I really appreciate that you're giving me feedback on this by the way, it's really nice when someone actually gives you a hand in testing; As far as matching CS:GO, I first need to find the default viewmodel field of view, and compare it to the default field of view in left 4 dead 2 (51). It's almost the same verison of Source, just a few years later, and pretty much all of them use the same method of rendering viewmodels, so worst case scenario is that I match them as close as possible and then give a recommended FOV.
Spoony 27 Aug, 2017 @ 1:54pm
Just tested the update and it's definitely an improvement, but it also makes the viewmodel slightly more obstructive.

If there's no way to match the viewmodel exactly like it is in blender then would it at least be possible to make it more similar to the way it is in CSGO

https://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/cswikia/images/1/19/CSGO_AK-47.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130908173625

If not then don't worry about it, it's still a lot better
Spoony 26 Aug, 2017 @ 4:05pm
I'd have to try it out in-game to really see how good it looks/feels, but judging from that screenshot it definitely looks better.

But aside from my opinion, as long as it looks more in line with your original vision and what you wanted then all is good.
CTriggerHurt  [author] 26 Aug, 2017 @ 3:59pm
I'm going to be doing away with the Blender renders, at least, beyond the thumbnails which I will be making better versions of eventually. As for the differences, this should be a little more to your liking:
https://puu.sh/xkjBp/1c6c08cab2.png
This is a comparison image I created real fast to better display the differences between what's currently here on the workshop and what's going to replace it once I ship the update. This will affect the M16s, too, of course.
Spoony 26 Aug, 2017 @ 3:49pm
That sucks, I did wonder why it looked so different in-game but regardless I'm sure it can't look too bad
CTriggerHurt  [author] 26 Aug, 2017 @ 3:38pm
Seems like there's some minor differences in the way Blender calculates FOV compared to Source. In general, Blender's FOV appears a good deal higher. Without drastic changes to your FOV in-game, it's impossible to perfectly immitate Blender's FOV. Still possible to make it more correct, but regardless, the weapon will look slightly stubbier in-game than in the render. I will try to make it as close as possible, but they will not perfectly match.
Spoony 26 Aug, 2017 @ 3:25pm
Oh sweet, thanks for the reply. Look forward to seeing the corrected versions and the rest of your work.
CTriggerHurt  [author] 26 Aug, 2017 @ 3:04pm
So, I may as well ship the corrected origin with them too.
CTriggerHurt  [author] 26 Aug, 2017 @ 3:03pm
Huh, looks like I never fixed the origin being further forward than it should have been in-game (due to how FOV is calculated in source's viewmodels, this causes the weapon to appear slightly closer to the center than it should). I appreciate you letting me know, that was actually an oversight by me. It was supposed to be closer to the right to begin with. I'm going to be uploading the next overhaul pretty soon (if not by the end of today, then almost definitely tomorrow), but I was already going to update the previous overhauls (except the hunting rifle) with a new draw and shove animation each that actually had some thought put into them.
Spoony 26 Aug, 2017 @ 1:58pm
Can we get a version of the M16 and AK where the viewmodel is more to the right of the screen rather than the centre. (Like the way it is in the video rather than the screenshots)
CTriggerHurt  [author] 19 Aug, 2017 @ 7:00am
Intentional. Grab animations don't make sense. See your post on the Globally Offensive M16 for a more detailed explanation.
pizza 19 Aug, 2017 @ 12:06am
I think the grab animations are missing, but otherwise great mod.
LunaticRabbitFan2005 14 Aug, 2017 @ 9:31pm
also the animation makes me hard

Looks much nicer than the default M16. Thanks for showing me that, the author has no issues with me using it so long as I credit him.

On a side note, I'll probably release the M16 animations with the two models as separate submissions: The primary one being for this much nicer looking M16, and a second one being the one I used in the render that is almost directly the stock M16 (just higher poly and some additional lazy texture maps)

Will probably leave this where it is (and upload the mod) unless anyone has any suggestions for changes. I would do textures but I'm terrible with textures. I'm considering ripping the CS:GO M4A4 model to replace this one, mostly because of the far superior textures but also partially for the model. Might rip it and render anyway just to see how it would look.

any luck for doing the M16 Overhaul?
Pain 31 Mar, 2017 @ 10:15pm
well the setting didn't do shit. FML :(
Pain 31 Mar, 2017 @ 9:15pm
[Update] i tried everything i can and come to the setting. I turn off antialiasing and test it out, everything seem to be ok now (i still scare). Thank for the feedback.
CTriggerHurt  [author] 31 Mar, 2017 @ 8:40pm
I just ran L4D2 with lowest settings on my laptop, with just the three VPKs for the AK-47 (including the shared content), and had no such crashing problem

For reference, on low settings, this laptop barely manages 60 frames, and that's if there's nothing going on. During hordes, it drops to around 30 if there's that much.
