@wolfhond
Unless BOTH trading partners own a harbor/dock the rivers/seas are also a barrier for trading even if two neighbors share borders.
And there must be a direct uninterrupted line of passage (over land or water if both got harbor) between your CAPITAL city and the potential trade partners capital city.

hey. :)

sometime its impossible to trade with direct neighbors. no matter if they love you or not.

like Middelland and Empire - only the reik river separates both but you cant negotiate a trade agreement because "no direct rout to you capital".

this make no sense for me because they share a border.

@Wolfhond What do you mean? If you start a non-aggression pact with them you can get at least some of your neighbours to trade with you eventually. Also having a strong military helps because AI doesn't respect weak countries.

I think you can get a relation bonus with Empire provinces through a mod but I don't believe that's necessary...

i will try it. thx!

i wonder that i'm playing as Empire (vanilla) i'm not able to trade with my neighbors like middleland, etc. - make no sence for me. or?

maybe there is a way the solve this with a mod? that would be great.
