Sure would be cool if the game included the possibility of a "Magazine Explosion", Wouldn't it?!
I don't know.
I thought I already answered you, but it seems like I haven't yet, so here I go:
I asked some of my friends to check if the game crashes for them and it doesn't. The same goes for me. I think some other mod might be interfering in your game. To fix this issue yourself, simply try different mod combinations. This way, you'll eventually find out what mod causes the crash.
as for the tubes, they are effectively meny pipes in one items/oxygen/hydrogen
if each pipe has a valve, think what happens if u shoot a pistol at a scuba tank [Jaws Ref. Yay]
not realy askin for them to explode, would be awsome tho, but...realisticly?
side note thinking of useing this on my server
Even if this would somehow start a chain reaction, my theory of before would still apply for the tanks. And the tubes of the game are rather large as well. They can even detect if they are connected to other valves or attached to an unfinished/open pipeline. This implies that they can communicate through electric charge too and enable more emergency features.
I'm not trying to disprove you so I do not have to implement this feature in the game. The opposite is the case. I appreciate your feedback a lot. You just need to convince me that this would realistically create an explosion.
Interesting idea, but I have seen documentaries about gas containers in real life and most of them seem to have a lot of automatic emergency barriers, which would make chain reactions to occur quite rarely. I would also imagine that in the time Space Engineers plays, engineers would have made these methods even more efficient and maybe even better.
No problem. Mistakes need to happen, else we would learn a lot less in our short lifes.
This seems rather odd to me. Are you sure you do not have any other modifications installed?
This modification only makes reactors, jump drives, virtual mass blocks, space balls, battery blocks, gas tanks and atmospheric thrusters explodable.
The efficiency of the batteries in Space Engineers imply your claim, but in survival they are assembled with different elements, but this may change in the future of this game.
Either way, the reaction followed upon destruction would definitely have considerable damage to neighbouring blocks.
I unfortunately never heard of that movie scene. I will watch that movie in the next week and evaluate the realism of said explosion. Thank you for your feedback, because all information can be useful to expand the realistic content of this modification!
I have thought about this myself and actually made some plausibility checks on paper, but came to the conclusion that there is no way they could actually explode and damage neighbouring blocks through simple destruction.
I feel like really fast spinning things could be a bit explody
- implementation of atmospheric thruster explosions upon destruction
- improved and therefore more realistic damage values
I hope you agree on my claims, but if not, make sure to tell me what still bothers you, so we can solve the problem together.
The difference would probably be very low, as hydrogen molecules first would have to mix up with oxygen molecules and when the hydrogen of the hydrogen tank is ignited it mostly burns up faster than it could mix up even just a little bit.
I try to be realistic with this modification, but the values I have assigned the explodable blocks are nowhere close to precise, but this actually does make it fit in with Space Engineers more, as other "realistic" aspects of the game are just as debatable and undynamic as the hydrogen tank here for example.
I am not too lazy to implement something this nit-picking, but it would make this modification more inconsequent due to the approximate values of the explodable blocks.
There's no need to be that accurate anyways though, as you can trust me, that even when I would implement it, you probably would not notice a single difference.
Appreciated.
Ion thrusters would simply turn off upon destruction and hydrogen thrusters are debatable, as only a severly damaged hydrogen tank is fatal and the damaged thruster would just be unmaneuverable, as it is obviously in the game as well (it will not function anymore), but it is coincidental you mention this today, as I actually am implementing atmospheric thrusters tomorrow, because I realized that jet engines/turbines are not safe from exploding rather spectacularly when damaged in real life.
I am glad I could help you.

Thank you for your constructive feedback, which is always welcome for everyone.
I have consequently made a separate version just for your desire:

(Actually, I'm not certain if that mod still works, since I've never actually been in a fight...)
