I could, but event coding is beyond me at the moment, unfortunately.
Mikeim520 1 Aug, 2019 @ 3:44pm
could you have it start with a event that gives you however much unity that you need?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 22 Feb, 2019 @ 9:05am
That could work in multiplayer games just fine, but infortunately, my modding skills are woefully inadequate for the task, and right now, I don't really have the time or energy to learn it.
Peter34 22 Feb, 2019 @ 8:12am
That might work. But it has to work in MP games, of course.
e1lo87 22 Feb, 2019 @ 4:40am
Perhaps you could make it a start of game event or have it fire within the first month?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 17 Dec, 2018 @ 11:49am
I can find out, though iirc, concole commans only work in singleplayer. Thanks for the tip.
Lazard 17 Dec, 2018 @ 11:20am
There is an console Command that adds Unity. Is it maybe possible to use that to give every Empire some Unity at the start of the Game? If i remember right some other Mods use console commands. So just an Idea.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 6 Dec, 2018 @ 11:38am
@Peter, If you read the updated mod description, I've stated that the mod is currently broken, and I'm unable to fix it atm.
Peter34 6 Dec, 2018 @ 11:28am
This mod seems to not work. It either doesn't give any Unity at all, or else it gives so little that it's not enough to unlock even 1 Tradition.
Stealth_Robot 28 Jul, 2018 @ 5:46pm
With my mods I am exactly 3 unity from getting 2 traditions
Peter34 9 Jul, 2018 @ 7:47am
You're not going to give anybody 3 picks.

If you increase the amount of Unity given by, say, 25%, then while the current situation is that you give some players 1.8 picks and other players 2.0 picks, after the change you'll give some players something like 2.1 or 2.2 picks and other players perhaps 2.4 picks. Pick costs increase non-linearly.

It's just that I'm not aware that any of the mods that I use have Civics that affect Unity. Or even ones that affect Unity costs or Unity penalties. Risa's mod is the least unlikely candiate, but that mod is explicitly defined as being a bugfix mod, to fix unintentional consequences, and so I'd be very surprised if it mucks around with Unity costs.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 9 Jul, 2018 @ 7:04am
The issue with that is I don't want it to go so far as to start giving people three. It's not meant to be balanced for civics or other creation settings that change unity costs - it's designed to be balanced to give you exactly two picks with a vanilla setup.

If you add civics that change unity costs, you're already making the choice to change how fast you get traditions, and that should carry over into your starting tradition picks.
Akkadian 9 Jul, 2018 @ 6:43am
I think that depends on many factors introduced by mods, such as civics that decrease unity penalties and so on. Perhaps it's simpler to just add 25% to the current amount?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 8 Jul, 2018 @ 6:39pm
Yeah, it'd be intersting. If you can tell me -exactly- how many unity you are short, too, that'd be helpful.
Peter34 8 Jul, 2018 @ 2:35pm
No. I'm using my own mod pack, and none of them fiddle with the number of starting POPs.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1411639879

It's not a big deal, however. Getting 2 Trad Picks right away, or getting one on gamestart and one 3 (or 4?) months later.

But I think it'd be useful to hear from others, to see if I and Silver are the only ones who have this problem.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 8 Jul, 2018 @ 6:08am
That's not to say I disbelieve you, but I cant fix something I can't replicate.
Do you have any mods that increase the number of starting pops?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 8 Jul, 2018 @ 6:06am
That's really strange, since I havent been able to replicate the issue at all. I've tried the mod both in vanilla and my usual modpack and it works fine for me.
Peter34 6 Jul, 2018 @ 9:04pm
I get this effect in every game, that I don't have enough Unity to choose 2 picks, even when I play a perfectly normal empire with just 1 species, not Syncretic, Mechanist or Gestalt. I have to wait about 3 months before I have enough Unity to take the 2nd pick.
Akkadian 4 Jun, 2018 @ 7:22am
All of them. I create a new race with every game, different ethics and civics. Always have this issue.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 4 Jun, 2018 @ 6:43am
Hmm, I'll look into it when I can find the brainpower. Odd question, but what ethcis andcivics are you using - there used ot be an odd combination with Syncretic evolution that caused higher than normal unity costs at the start.
Peter34 4 Jun, 2018 @ 6:09am
I have the same issue, except I’m *not* using any mods that affect Tradition costs. It seems as if 2.1 increased Tradition Unity costs a bit, relative to 2.0.
Akkadian 4 Jun, 2018 @ 2:22am
I am having an issue where I get enough Unity points for only 1 tradition, and then have to wait 1-8 months to get the next one!

I am using Plentiful Traditions mod and a few others, although nothing that should alter tradition requirements. Any idea what to do about this?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 3 Jun, 2018 @ 8:49pm
The mod works fine in 2.1, just ignore the 'outdated' tag, since it only refers to a version number, and is no indication of wether a mod actually will or will not work. I will try and get around to updating the version numbers when I'm able.
Akkadian 2 Jun, 2018 @ 3:18pm
Any chance to get an update to 2.1?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 6 Mar, 2018 @ 2:28pm
Unfortunate, but unless I can confirm that most people ARE using the beta, I cant update for it, since updating the starting unity for it would give 3 traditions to some empires in 2.0.1, and that's getting beyond where i wanted to go. If the beta lasts more than another week or two, i'll consider creating a temporary version for the Beta, with the increased unity.
Peter34 6 Mar, 2018 @ 11:36am
It seems as if they're going to keep the beta going for a while.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 6 Mar, 2018 @ 10:59am
Allright. Once it goes out of beta, i'll update as soon as i can ^^
Peter34 6 Mar, 2018 @ 9:03am
I'm playing 2.0.2beta, yes. The amount of Unity given is enough to take 1 pick and somewhere to the road to 2nd pick. About half. 'ish.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 6 Mar, 2018 @ 6:54am
Allright, thanks for the info. I've been playing the last few days and not had any problems, so I need to ask for more information, such as what traits and so on the race you were using has, as a very few greatly increase the cost of traditions. Also, are you playing the 2.02 beta? if so, I cant update the mod for it until that stops being a beta, sorry.
Peter34 5 Mar, 2018 @ 7:42am
You need to update this mod.

Recently Traditions were changed to cost more Unity, I think it was in 2.0.1 or in 2.0.2beta, and so the amount of starting Unity given by your mod isn’t enough to but 2. It’s enough for about one and a half pick.
Xrona 25 Feb, 2018 @ 9:54pm
Many thanks to you for this mod, and for his support.
Auzzi11 24 Feb, 2018 @ 5:04pm
ok thank you
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 24 Feb, 2018 @ 3:35pm
I will update all of my mods for 2.0 as soon as I am able. However, they should all still work (you can ignore the outdated warning, that only refers to a version number, and isnt an indication of wether the mod will work or not)
Auzzi11 24 Feb, 2018 @ 3:25pm
can it please get an update for 2.0
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 10 Dec, 2017 @ 3:40am
Yes, I was planning on doing that today.
No Name 9 Dec, 2017 @ 9:21pm
Would it be possible to update the mod version though so there isn't a bright red warning about 1.9?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 9 Dec, 2017 @ 7:02pm
Ah, allright :D No worries then. Thankyou.
No Name 9 Dec, 2017 @ 6:56pm
Sorry for the confusion.
No Name 9 Dec, 2017 @ 6:49pm
I apologize for what I said I meant it IS working.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 9 Dec, 2017 @ 6:49pm
Allright, thanks for letting me know. I'll look into it when i can. If you can tell me, are you not getting any starting unity, or not getting enough?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 9 Dec, 2017 @ 11:43am
It should be just fine, though I havent tested that yet, which I'll do tonight or tomorrow.
No Name 9 Dec, 2017 @ 11:29am
Does this need an update for 1.9?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 25 Oct, 2017 @ 7:18am
Updated the mod:

Increased the number of starting unity from 167 to 200 to fix an edge case issue where empires with both the Slaver Guilds and Syncretic Evolution civics wouldn't have enough unity for 2 traditions.

Thanks to Stad122 for finding this for me.
Dat Fishe 21 Oct, 2017 @ 9:01pm
Glad to hear it!
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 27 Sep, 2017 @ 2:47pm
Found time to update the mod, and my grandmother is home safe, and will be fine. Thank you for your concern. ^^
C4tS4ndw1ch 24 Sep, 2017 @ 9:57pm
@Kreldin Foxclaw to hell with the mod, focus on family mate. We're a bunch of randoms on the internet, we can wait.
Nucleotides 22 Sep, 2017 @ 12:34pm
I hope your family member is ok!
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 21 Sep, 2017 @ 5:17pm
I will be updating the mod hopefully over the next few days, though with a family member in hospital, it's hard to concentrate on anything.
No Name 21 Sep, 2017 @ 2:45pm
Please tell me there will be an update for the new patch.
mazzelpik 10 Jul, 2017 @ 9:21am
No worry's, you did all you could
